Decided to post pics sanz iPad2 for 2 reasons,

1: no one had really focused on the case bare in all its glory, and no one really posts such detailed/close-up pics of the camera hole or the 4-magnet array-thingy that wakes/sleeps the iPad2, also apparently the first picture review and possibly the only for MR forums, of the rare, color-23.5 case.

2: I had so many issues with my white Verizon 64gb iPad2, backlight, pixels, paint issues, that the only way to get a black one was return it and order a Black AT&T 64gb one. So I'm iPad2-less for 1.5-3 weeks at worst, but my MBAir will hold me off until then, the "gotta-have it" impulse is out of my system so this wait will be less anguishing.

Edit: #3: Hadn't really seen anyone post what the back of a case looked like or in relation to the size and proportion of the logo, which I am pleased it is both moderately-sized, and stylish, not gaudy like the octavo P&Q(just my Honest op.)

Sadly, someone yesterday said including mine, they only customized three cases before they decided it was slowing them down, so now the 23.5 is only available in neutral/linen color, even if you request, they will no longer agree to it =(

I was able to get your Italian Cloth on my Notebook II, I'm glad I kept asking them to do it! They placed it on my order description on the same day too. :D

The green looks beautiful on the white too, with black bumpers and a black iPad, it will look awesome too ;-)

I just received my 23.5 today, and I must say that the customer service may be lousy, but their product is fantastic. I'm thrilled with the quality of craftsmanship, and the overall product. Here's a link to some pics : http://campl.us/UFm

Well worth the wait.

Lolz, I think you were mistaken, they actually gave me the correct, transparent bumpers so white case, black iPad2, and no-see-um bumpers FTW!

That's interesting, you had to ask them more than once?

Maybe I got lucky, but I asked once, and that's was all, "ask and you shall receive?"lol.

No I was just making another variation on your case Lol if it had black bumps, I could totally have used it with a black iPad.

Oh yeah, but it was when they were going crazy with the orders and they were not responding to any emails, so i can't blame them. If once you don't succeed, try, try again!... until you get a restraining order, and then you can stop Lol :D

Ahhh lol.

If I had the foresight to know I would run back to the original iPad color, black, I would have requested the black bumpers, but hindsight is 20/20, =O

Alas, I'm content with my white case.

Once all the madness dies down I'm buying a 76 case.

Although, if I use the private link, I could order now, and instead of waiting a couple weeks, and THEN ordering, knowing I shall have to wait 3-4 weeks ANYWAy (total 2-3 weeks wait to order + 3-4 after order= 5-7 weeks), order now and just wait the 3-4 weeks......

Decisions!

EDIT: Adding two angles/views I hadn't considered, not the same empty, but bear with me....

It's surprisingly strong/rigid in the position where it's open and the two covers meet(2nd picture), though my guess is you lose some of that (tensile?) strength over time.

I am really peeved with portenzo. ordered 3/9. they said it would ship between 4/11 and 4/18. I know 4/18 isnt here yet, I am not holding my breath. I think it may be time to cancel and buy something else.

Yeah, email them and cancel for sure.

I know it's hard, but honestly, if you waited that long email them, let them know just HOW long you've been waiting, and you appreciate "quality takes time," but you need to see your case shipped soon or they will lose your business. I'm sure once they notice how long you've been waiting, they'll prioritize the building(if it has not been done yet), and/or shipping of your order.

I contacted them wednesday because my order was nearing a month, and they got back to me, after assessing all factors, and it had been built but they "missed it" in the big 48-hour-blackout-shipping-frenzy.

Needless to say I got it this morning as evident by all teh pics I posted ;p

Had I sat on my bum, my case would be sitting on their workbenches.

Portenzo and 3G

I am deciding between Portenzo 23.5 and a similar case from TreeGloo. I have an iPad 2 3G (Verizon). The Portenzo has wood around the black out area at the top of the 3G case but the TreeGloo has much of that area carved out. Will that make a difference in 3G reception?

Thanks!

my octavo arrived :D it looks pretty neat, but what im impressed is the cartella for my macbook air 13".

waiting for: treegloo and portenza 23 & 1/2 (i order all 3 at around the same dates)

I ordered one of these cases today (the normal ones, not the 23.5 white) with the dark blue lining, and opted for the magnetic cover, without the strap.

Had a couple of questions, how does the dark blue lining look? It's for my dad so wanted something toned down.

I use my iPad 1 with the apple case in portrait with the cover always folded back. Infact thats the way I leave it, and hardly fold it back. I know the cover on this goes all the way back, and I'm sure it loses some flex over time, but can someone tell me if after alot of use folded back, once you close the case, does the cover kind of lift up, I.e. Not close completely, or is it built so it alwys shuts properly and nicely? Imsure the magnets arent strong enough im this or the ipad for them to magnetically stay shut I wanted the clean look without the elastic, but if closing has issues after some use, maybe I should opt for the one with the strap?

Lastly, I was reading something about the morocco and levant cases. I can't find anything about them on the website, neither do I remember picking which one I wanted when I was ordering. Just clicked on the first iPad 2 case on the page. Can someone tell me what the difference is.

Most of the questions are in the 70+ pages of this thread lol. Anyway, the Levant has a more rough look to it, the Morocco looks more smooth. Besides that, and because they have such a high demand on Morocco and then switched to Levant to get it delivered sooner..., the Portenzo company decided to take the option of choosing the cover material out of the website, to find out what you will get, you will have to email them and see what you will end up with (My guess will be that whatever material is avaliable LOL).

you can see more pictures of the material difference in the Notebook iPad 1, the link is below, good luck... ;)

According to TP's response on their fb page, Levant is currently not being offered as an option. I'm thinking they're trying to avoid another shortage due to all the orders that were switched over from Morocco.

Well I certainly like the morocco smooth material better you're saying that's the default now, but the poster above said it's random.

Any suggestions on the lid opening closing issues, if any, and the elastic strap?

Iminto about page 10 of the thread hopefully I'll find something there'd but appreciate it if someone can let me know.

Burgundy Teju?

I am waiting for the new burgundy version of the Teju to become available.

I take it the Teju option is coming back, and with different colors? It isn't on their site, though the boar and stingray are there.

I'm waiting for the frenzy to die down before I make my choice, but I've never seen anything as beautiful as the brown Teju you had them make for you earlier.

Here is the issue with the cover, the notebook 1's where made more loosely because the taste of the consumer was to create a cover that when folded back would, somehow, stay flat when lay down. I would assume that the cover spine wasn't strong enough to lift the cover up and would just lay there... But that was the Notebook1

The Notebook II cases have the option of the MagnaGrip With/out Strap. Also the spine is more rigid, so for people that likes to flat the cover when opening all the way it will take time. Its my understanding that the Magna-grip holds the cover in place and will not let the cover lift up which is why it's there. if that happens, I'm sure Darin can send a replacement ( but that's a complain with their costumer service department and I'm just "assuming" that the will do that) there are a couple of messages back of people that got the case with the Magna-grip, they can be more informative on how strong the magnets are on holding the cover in place. I hope that helps

PS I mentioned above that they will use whatever material it's available, I don't know that, I thought that would be the case, but I heard they just got a shipment of Morocco recently so don't know if it will be enough for all the orders. Because they are so busy there isn't a very clear picture of their operations unless it's a direct quote.... So don't quote me on that Lmao :D

Camera connector kit

Corrected post

For those of you who asked, the Apple camera connector kit plugs does fit the iPad 2 case. With my case you have to start insertion at a slight downward angle from horizontal. Once the connector is partially inserted you can complete the task by pushing it straight in. Sounds complicated but it isn't.

Thanks to GoBIG for straightening me out (pun intended).

Don't think that they don't listen...

if you look back, I made a number of suggestions, and Darin has implemented them. If this is truly the best case, let's work with him to get the kinks out, and help Portenzo stay around.

And for those trolls, yes I am a customer, yes I have already been charged (paypal), and my Morocco order is almost a month old...

Yes they have made mistakes, yes they have been lacking in consistent communication, but it was not due to them trying to rip folks off, it was due to them trying to please everyone.

Just ordered a composition case! :D

With a magnet and strap. I'd have liked real leather, but alas that may have to wait for the seventy six.

The long wait begins..........

For those of you who asked, the Apple camera connector kit plugs do not fit the iPad 2 case. You can make them fit by slightly lifting the bottom of the iPad from the case. The same might hold true for the HDMI connector, but as I don't have one I cannot be sure of this.

I think this may vary...my camera connection kit fits perfectly with the iPad 2 case. I don't have to lift the bottom of the iPad at all, and the iPad is in there pretty good...or pressed down as far as it can go anyway.

As I plan on using mine with an external DAC/headphone amp, I am hoping that it fits correctly...
