I have to say, even if these may be fake, I prefer the matte black back to the glossy black back of some of the other rumor photos.

Fake...spelling....continued

On the Exchange screenshot, "separately" is spelled "seperately."

Sorry if this has already been pointed out, but I am not reading through all 11 pages. It would be hard to have a video chat on the iphone with the phone backwards. The camera is on the backside, not the front. So someone could see you, but you could not have a two way conversation.

Supposedly, the new iPhone has a second camera on the front. In fact, in one of the photos there's a squarish spot on the upper right hand corner that looks like it could be the camera. It just blends in with the black screen well so it's not obvious.

the ichat guy from apples website also looks hispanic and goofy

oh and ichat can also communicate with aim users, which would be a plus for the people wanting to video chat, and maybe just chat from their iphone to aim users

The guy in the real Apple picture looks Asian to me ... Apologies to "Carlos" and his chic, but they just ain't good lookin' enough for advertising!
______________
Killer G3 400Mhz iMac!

i know its been noted that one of em doesn't show the dock donnector but wouldn't the dock plug have a hard time fitting properly on such a high degree of angle for that kind of taper? let alone be able to be positioned and installed in a way that would seem straight...if so wouldnt you need a dock connector that could angle and pivot?

Say you used just the dock connector to connect to your computer the cable would prop the bottom part of the phone up. Seems unapple like.
wouldn't docking it be difficult too unless the bottom portion was a bit flatter?

I mean after all...the macbook air needed a special magport adapter.

edit* i would also have to say even if the docport is on the bottom lip of the phone u should not see it...placement of the port on the back of a tapered iphone with a flat bottom makes no sense.

Definitely fake

I personally like it :D

I hope the new iPhone is similar to this mock-up, just without the chrome border. I reaaly like the idea of a (red) one, too.

LMAO!! This is fake.... I know this cause #1 the macbooks camera pictures look egsactlly like that and for those who own a iPhone or have seen the quality of the camera of the iPhones, they are prity freeking good. Apple woun't downgrade somthing. ESPECIALLY for a promo picture! and the Lock button on the (Red) is missing. Ive seen many people in Starbucks doing all kinds of iPhone designs and posting them. But anyways Nice job on the picture. Gotta give the person props. Just one thing..... Lets hope it will look like this and they will have a full on black cause hey... THIS IS FREEKING SEXY!!!:D:eek::p;):cool::eek::apple:

Please return to school.

All of this talk about Apple Law taking down photos is a little old I think. I feel that they have figured out that when they take down a picture it pretty much tells us that its the real deal. All of the 3G iphone pics flooding the web, who knows which one is real(if any)! I think they are letting all of lose our minds in speculation! just a thought

Image info?

I downloaded the full size image and imported it into iPhoto. The info from the image says the photo was taken using an iPhone on 6/6/2008 @ 8:37:34PM.

I sure hope iChat for windows is true, Its annoying that I cannot use iChat video features to talk to my friends using goggle talk on their PC's I reckon I could easily convince my friends to use an iChat supported network for video chat., Also a drawing board feature in iChat wouldn't go a unappreciated.

Just because a few things are up in the air regarding an upcoming event or adventure doesn't mean that you can't let yourself get all jazzed up about it! Uncertainty is its own kind of excitement, and you should get comfortable with it. Sure, things could fall through and your plans might not come to fruition, but so what? At least you enjoyed that happiness and anticipation. Plus, you will feel more grounded and comfortable about not knowing every little thing in the future.

So Fake...

The guy on the iPhone video chat (Carlitos Rodriguez) looks too bad for a model (and the name too):D... The red iPhone doesn't have a power button.

"( RED )" is wrong.. It should be (PRODUCT) RED tm

The "iChat showing everywhere" image has a guideline drawn at the top of the paragraph meaning it's Ps CS3... Same goes with the "Exchange ideas" image. Many of the images show the pictures inside photoshop...

If you look closely on this one:

The time is 1:25 PM... meaning it's fake, since on every iPhone/iPod touch picture by Apple it's 9:42 AM.

The pictures are so fake that the rules of fakeness could not describe how fake they are.

Come on, now someone please declare as fake, and take it back to Page 2...

I know for a fact (RED) had a contract with Motorola that does not allow them to brand phones from any other company. That is that.

The contract was signed May 15 2006. If it were a two year exclusive contract, then it expired a couple weeks ago.

If it is a fake, and the person was going to put in VideoChat as a super fanboy feature, it would be straight up videochat to everyone's wildest dreams. Instead what we get, is a very realistic model for how it would work in concert with AT&T: phone-to-phone video chat via 3G (likely using your regular cell minutes for the audio portion, and 3G for the video), or phone-to-computer video chat via WiFi.

Considering the restrictions on App Store apps, you won't be allowed to use iChat for video/audio chat on the iPhone over 3G. This may be specific to AT&T. This may be the new incentive to jailbreak!

Video calls use a QoS guaranteed virtual circuit data, it does not go through the APN and until HSPA+ is not carried by IP at all. The standard is 3G-324M. Apple sponsored (with AT&T) in 2004 an extension to this standard called 3G-324MI which uses H.264 where possible (older phones used H.263 only) to improve 3G video calling. This was ratified by 3GPP in 2004.

It is an extension to the 1999 standard that every 3G handset uses for its built in video calling.

Search for 3G-324MI on this page and look who sponsored it:

I'm hoping they make VIDEO CHAT available via wifi and 3G, that way, when as technology and bandwidth increases, the features will already be on the iPhone2. I admit, I will be extremely pissed off it's an iChat only feature. But the realistic side of me believe's it will be some WiFi only feature.

The bandwidth isn't a problem it's carriers not wanting voice carried over the internet. This was announced at the SDK launch.

Video calls to regular phones via 3G like every 3G phone since 2003.
iChat Video Chat via WiFi only at the carriers request.

My carrier in 2003 allowed you to make calls from Windows to 3G phones via a Netmeeting gateway, so they could add this to the desktop version of iChat. However Apple would have to do it carrier by carrier so I doubt it since Apple gave up on making carriers add a Visual Voicemail gateway.

The Apple group works in a separate building across the street from the agency. you have to have a retinal scan to get in (no, i'm not kidding). They call it the vault.

Hence why these pics are on a laptop - and taken by someone else with their phone??

I actually think this is a pretty good fake... I mean, not bad at all. And fairly credible. The iChat for windows detail is an inspired bit of subterfuge that sounds like a credible idea. In fact, some of what is contained in this mock up may actually turn out to be true. However, as another poster has pointed out, they have spelt "separately" "seperately"... A foolish Schoolboy error that not even a Ugandan bank transfer scam artist would fall into! Well, maybe they would, but not Apple...

This has already been discussed and is actually a very specific detail pointing towards "real" (or "extremely clever fake"). Current iPhone product shots show 9:42 AM because that's the exact time the iPhone was first introduced at MWSF 2007 (see MacRumors transcript). 1:25 PM Eastern is about 25 minutes after the keynote starts on Monday -- Eastern because the guy in the photo is in New York -- so it's probably right around when Steve will unveil the 3G iPhone. QED.

Carlos Rodriguez...

Sorry -- let's just say it. Carlos is just not Apple model material. I won't say ugly, but he he's not young enough or handsome enough to make the cut. Plus the shot makes him look, dare I say, just a lot-tle goofy.

I also don't think he fits the demographic apple would target right now with their 3G phone/MS Exchange business phone. I think this is super-duper fake.

just a little bit goofy?

would it be fair to say Apple would be appealing to either the business type or the materialistic fashion-dominated youth of today?

Not sure why the back of the iPhone and iPod cannot be rubberized, that would be neat as a case would not be required.

If I wanted a mirror in my pocket I would pick something better than an iPod case.

one more photo, looks like the camera lens is faked on

I want a umpc tablet with full OS if there's no video conferencing. Even though I know Apple can pull anything off, I'm so getting this sick feeling right now. My eyes will be glued to this screen so hard tmw.
