Of course they're fake, that's not even a question. Would Apple really use pics of that dork (with the dorkiest of dork looks on his face) in their advertising material? "iChat: Now showing your big idiot grin everywhere".

The only questions are how closely their fake will come to the design of the real thing, and will the real thing come with the video iChat as claimed.

There's obvious photoshopping on that red one, and on the close up of the "iChat" the home button looks like its been cut out from another picture!

Great fun but surely the fact that we're still looking at them makes them fake. Apple legal normally come down on 'real leaks' pretty fast, right arn?

Also why would the speaker/microphone from the bottom of the current model iPhone be on the *back* of the phone for all intents and purposes? (and the dock connector placement looks...awkward)

Because if you look at the design the sides of the phone are much more angled than the current model, in fact the new model does not have sides just an angled back. Therefore the speakers must fit on the angled part of the back plate. These look real to me, I guess they are initial artwork and not complete yet. It is clear though that iChat will also be released for Windows as well.

There's no way they could pull off iChat backgrounds on a phone. If you've ever played with them before on a Mac, any movement will kill the effect, making pixels get knocked out of the recognition. Even barely detectable shadows will throw it off. So what makes you think a handheld device that is going to be far from steady will be able to keep an iChat background?

It's not a background! They are implying he is in new York!!

That's right...

This is right. I don't think the question should have ever been: "Is it real?" Like many have said, it cannot be. Although, the question should be, "How much insider info may one person have in order to closely enough photoshop his interpretation of what is to come?" Again, though, very optimistic.

You must be new here. Ever saw the last iPod nano leaks? very similar.

Why take a picture of something on a computerscreen to put it on the web later???

When it's on the screen, the best thing to do is to take a screenshot so you have good quality pictures....

Taking a picture of the screen will blur everyting and give classical unsharp rumor 'evidence'...

I smell people wanting allot of attention (and it worked) wanting to stir things up

I feel like holding a 400 dollar phone way out infront of you like that in the middle of times square (thats where I think our buddy Carlos is) is a good way to get it jacked.

Also imagine how many people are gonna bump in to things while doing this while walking and or driving

But it still looks really really cool.

It can be just like with iChat, you can just pick the background you want. The guy doesn't need to be on time square or where ever it is..

ever thought of the fact that the person that took the photos is not the owner of the computer.

sheesh, you guys need to get your heads out of the sand. Many reliable leaks for other products looked the same. It is not like it is the first time.

Its funny how the fillet on the elevation is entirely different to the fillet on the end elevation. The elevation is blatantly thicker which is not shown on the end elevation. That alone with all the other things points to fake. Also they are not going to release a product red iPhone. It will be in two capacities at most for differentiation.

I think the expression on Mr Rodrigez says it all...

This Carlos dude in the picture looks a little goofy if you ask me - I know it's not the right thing to say but he doesn't say "Apple" to me. That's the first thing that jumped out at me and makes me think it's a fake.

I say it is real....this is it! The gray one is real the red is fake ;).

The only thing that bums me is the headphone port looks recessed as the previous model. I cannot deal with adapters.

How about the time being different on top. All of the iphone pictures I have ever seen show 9:42 the time of the original anouncement.
