Impressive AT&T Speeds :)

AT&T has improved by about 50% in the past two weeks near my home in Dayton, Ohio.

Periodically I'll run a test around Saint Paul, MN and get about 1.20 Mbps down. My last test resulted in a nice little bump, but uploads are still pretty low.

Ping: 367 ms
Down: 2.07 Mbps
Up: .08 Mbps

Posting only 'cuz this result is exceptionally pleasing :p compared to a "good/normal" day (DL speed). Wish this were the norm!

Normal result ranges are:

DL: average ~ 1.2Mbps

UL: average ~ 0.8Mbps

Ping: ~ 250ms to 375ms

As others have mentioned, this App is suspect w/regards to its results. Then again, I've yet to find any good measuring stick of data speeds since there are so many outside factors which can cause wild fluctuations (minute to minute, hour to hour, etc.)

Post Your Verizon and AT&T Speedtest!

So, just out of curiosity, I thought I'd make this thread :). Here is mine with Verizon 3G, I am curious about AT&T and other Verizon speedtests. This was done in Boston. I noticed one thing though. The pings on iPhone speedtests are a lot higher than my old Droid X, but the speeds are faster :p

When completed, it was:

Download: 2.08 mbps
Upload: 834 kbps

Upload: 1.66 Mb/s

Wow, a lot faster than my usual Verizon speedtests, it's funny though, because my brother has an iPhone 3GS on ATT and his speeds somedays are 3 mbps down and others 50 kbps down. But your test is pretty impressive for 3G

can't figure out how to post it but 0.46 mbps down, 0.56 mbps sup. AT&T iphone 4 in st. petersburg,FL. wife wants to switch to verizon - may be entertaining that more now, Mike

It's pretty consistent for me. I guess it's one of the up sides of living in a not-so-tech-savvy region. People around here are just catching on to the whole Blackberry thing. Yeah. It'll be another 5 years before people start using iPhones here. Hopefully we will have LTE by then.

Download - 5.14 Mbps
Upload - 0.69 Mbps

Second test:
Ping - 333 ms

Third test:

I got 3.1MB/s downlink today in a rural area probably on 850Mhz...but you know speed test never averages and only uses the last 1 second for the speed so...but still excellent speed I had! I was using GPS to get somewhere today and maps loaded so fast so I ran a speed test.

Indoors with, as you can see, only 4 bars... 3(UK) are pretty good (not sure why the ping is so high, I tried a second one and had a ping of 178ms, but a speed just under 4, weird)

The upload speeds are over double my Home WiFi, if I'm uploading videos i normally tether my iPhone to my Mac rather than use Wifi.
For some reason, UK ISPs dole out such slow Upload speeds, whereas i get about 11Mbs Down over WiFi.
