Refurb open today?

I don't know if that means anything, but the refurb store is open (I've checked UK and France) exceptionally. You can find laptops and displays mostly. Normally the refurb is only open on wednesdays (at least in Europe) and at 10:00 GMT. Maybe it means that at that time tomorrow the store will be down... anyone care to comment?

so it is... strange... the ibook is tempting. not tempting enough though!

Perhaps Apple has changed their release day from Tuesday to Wednesday. The new iBooks G4 were released on a Wednesday as well. If we don't get anything new today, everyone (or almost everyone) would just wait for next Tuesday, so it would be a great suprise if new PMs and/or PBs were launched tomorrow.

Where do you see a refurbished page??? I can't seem to find it!
At the bottom of the store... a big recycling sign (at least on European stores).

Funnily enough, today nothing has been bought, because normally everything goes in a heartbeat. I guess nobody expected it to be open today...

Refurb Store

Seems to me that basically every product is for sale at the apple refurb store. Don't know if it means anything but i haven't seen the G5s all together like that at all. Hopefully today is the day that my bank account drops a few thousand dollars with a new G5 and 20" matching display.

Eh...I'm not holding my breath. Just always fun to get caught up in the excitement :) I'm not even ready to buy anything--I just like seeing new stuff come out!

This seems not to be the case on all European stores as I just checked the Swiss store and there is no recycling sign and therefore nor refurb page.

On the US store it's not a recycling sign...Instead it's a graphic that looks like a price-tag and says "Save" on it.

I'm dumbfounded. How come there is one on the french and the british stores and none on the swiss?

I've never seen the recycling button on the Swiss Apple page...

PLEEEASE announce new PBs today (G4, G5, whatever)
Neither have I. Probably, Apple Switzerland is too small to offer refurbs. But I have seen Apple refurbs at certain resellers.

The Swiss store does have that "SAVE" button, but nothing spectacular in there: free ipod engravings, memory upgrade, and cheaper software.
Nothing that could be a hint on new releases...well, just a few more hours to wait!

That's where the refurbs would be...the US store has a TON of stuff in there. Refurbed iMacs, G5's, Powerbooks (both Ti and Al), iBooks, iPods, you name it!

I don't think it's going to happen today... sniff!

New refurb pricing on G5 1.8 single

I noticed today that the refurb pricing on the G5 1.8 single is now $1599 (was $1699 the last time I saw one listed in there). Hmmmmm.........

Strange how the major ad banner on the apple main page is for the G5..I think once cupertino wakes up today we may be in for something.

I just had a look at what is being offered on the British and German refurb stores. As has been mentioned before, those store are open on Wednesdays only. Interestingly, they offer refurbished iBook, PowerBooks, iPods and displays. Could this mean that we'll see new iBooks, new PowerBooks and displays tomorrow? There must be a reason why the refurb store is open today, right?

That banner has been there for a few days already.
