I already told you, I will never touch an Android phone. And I will buy what I want, once it shows up in the Apple lineup. Next candidate for evaluation, iPhone SE.
Whoops, that's fair. And I think I might have thought you were another responder. Apologies for the misdirected comments.

But you are exactly correct, buy what you want. I made the same decision as well. After the iPhone 5, I want my next iPhone to have at least 2GB of RAM.
Did I buy the iPhone 5S? No.
Did I buy the iPhone 6? No.
Did I buy the iPhone 6S? Yes.

Pretty easy. I am confused why people are complaining.

This happens to car industry all the time. New tech/features/designs/upgrades are sometimes introduced on lower-end models before flagships get them. So, it wouldn't be strange if Apple introduced new features to SE first instead of iPhone 7.

More storage is not a feature.

Ok then we just have to agree to disagree. I just cant image how someone would find it a good idea for apple to introduce the 5se with more base model storage than with the 6S.
Because it's about time. The 12" MacBook became the higher base storage before the 13" MacBook Pro, just because now SSD prices are low enough and it was ready for release. The 13" MacBook Pro has to wait until it's ready for an update and then storage options will be adapted. If the iPhone SE increases base storage next week (unlikely) than the iPhone 6S will remain unchanged until the iPhone 7 release in the fall.

Best thing would be if everyone pre-ordered a 16 gig at launch, used it for 12 days and then took it back to swap for a 64/128 and complain loud and clear the 16 is too small. Let Apple try to unload a boatload of 16 gig refurbs.
Unfortunately Apple doesn't sell refurbished iPhones, although I wish they do.
And I don't see why that tactic would be an issue for Apple. They still take your money, AND take your additional money when you buy the 64/128GB. Kinda silly if you think about it.

i never had much problems with 16GB, but ever since i have apple music and its retarded feature, that instantaneously fills up my free storage while listening to music, i guess ill have to look at 32gb. No spotify for me in my country.

The first time I heard about Apple Pay, I was excited. It rubbed off the longer I had to wait for it - and since it doesn't seem to come in all the countries, I couldn't care less about it anymore.
Prolonged waiting time may increase happiness and hype... but at a certain point it collapses to indifference. When Apple Pay will be introduced in my country, it will be old news - and no one will be excited about it. :( Sad.

I remember similar posts about 6 and 6s :)

I wish Google releases their Nexus around the same time because if Apple is going to screw us power users with 16GB I'm jumping ship. It's bad enough that the camera will be better in the iPhone plus models while the mid size model gets shafted; $100 upsale right there.

What? LOL. Why the eff in the world would you buy things that you don't want, Apple or Samsung.

And yes, if other OEMs offer the price per GB that you want, perfect. That means you can say eff u to Apple and support the company that meets your needs, great for you.

Defend? Defending what? I'm not the one that complain about Apple and yet keep buying iphones. That stupid. If I didn't like Apple's pricing, I take my business elsewhere.

The fact that you paid for a service doesn't mean you're happy with every aspect of it. Nor does it mean I lost my right to have expectations. Nobody said 16gb iPhone is a horrible "smartphone." People are just voicing one aspect of it; and I mean its 2016.. really. And of all people, if you see John Gruber complaining it really sums it all.

Also, I said "defending" because you almost sound like Samsung's CEO saying, "So, people are complaining about touch wiz being worse than the competition? Doesn't matter. They still bought a sh*t load of our products. It will be good enough for our phone next year, and the year after... until we finally decide to make improvements and call it the best thing ever."

What are you guys doing with your phones? After 2 years of usage I've used up 10,8GB of storage on my phone. Noone here uses cloud services?

Offline Google play music, YouTube Red video downloads, games and videos transferred from iTunes. Plus I'm on a 15GB data cap which I hit on a monthly basis. And I don't even consider myself a power user. 16GB is a horrible joke.

I don't understand all the outrage... It seems people are assuming that if the entry level phone was 32GB or 64GB that the price wouldn't be higher to reflect that. As far as I can tell, there's absolutely no reason to think that at all.

If the choice is between having 16GB/64/128 @ $549/649/749 and having 64GB/128 @ 649/749, how does the second lineup help anyone?

Alright. Tell me if you will pay, let's say $450, for a 16GB iPhone SE. That's all the decision. Yes or no. If you think it's too much for a 16GB phone, then I say the answer will be no. Simple right?

Google is selling 32GB Nexus 5X for $399. Easy alternative. Cheaper. More GB per dollar. Great phone.

It boggles my mind if you said $450 is too much for 16GB iPhone and yet you still buy it. Makes zero sense. If you are willing to pay for it, that means the price is alright for you.

9 years of 16gb iPhones (since 2007) even as SSD prices have gone down exponentially.

32GB currently costs about $5 more (apple could charge $655 for an 32gb iPhone and not lose money).

The rest of the industry has moved to 32GB default, while Apple remains stuck at 16GB.

Apple made record-high profits last year at around 40%.

Historically as storage prices go down, Apple usually improved default options in their products, this is a natural improvement for the mainstream user. As the mainstream user gets more storage, he/she is invited to do more with the iPhone. But Apple has stayed stuck at 16GB for 9 years, why? It's obvious due to greed to pursue record-high profit margins, nothing else.

Great news, Google sells Nexus 5X 32GB for $399. So people should stop supporting greedy Apple.

Wait, your last sentence does not make sense then. If Apple's pricing is incorrect for the market, how would they made record high profits? Why would people buy their products? You must be kidding and Apple is near bankruptcy now since clearly the competitors offer better GB for the dollar.

I already said it's a concern over one aspect of the phone. If a phone was all about storage size, then the Nexus would be the clear choice. But as an "Apple" user, yes I will buy the $450 SE. Does that mean I think 16gb is acceptable at this day and age? Or does it mean I have shut up and be quiet?
Sure sounds like you're suggesting the latter.

Wait, you think it's unacceptable but you will buy it anyway because you are an "Apple" user? LOL. That's called fanboy my friend.

Good choice. I bought an iPad Air 2 because it had 2GB RAM and a triple-core CPU before any other iOS device. These are amazing computers but sometimes you have to wait a little for just the right one.

If they have to produce all those extra 16 gig phones for the preorders and then figure out what to do with all the returns, they're going to notice.

If people just buy the 64/128 they get the same money and it proves to them their 16/64/128 structure is fine.

Or, they could just see that there is more demand for 64 and 128GB model, and produce more of those while keeping the pricing the same. Of they could just get rid of 16GB model, without any changes in price. I mean in the end, people are still paying the same amount of money right?
