You must have gotten lucky with the 14 Pro's battery - when I had one it was awful. The 15 Pro was worse but the 14 Pro for me was is the 80s% a year later
I’ll agree with that, and I think part of it is because I work from home so I am not using my phone a lot for most of the day. It’s at 91% maximum capacity on the battery so still good enough to get me through the day.

The picture below is what i am coming from, and what i am upgrading to:

I suspect I’ll stay with my 14 pro max. I did buy a 16 pro max last year, but the “upgrade” was so underwhelming I returned it went back to the 14.

The days of dramatic, year-on-year improvements are gone.

Do you keep your phone on when sleeping? I have an iphone 13 (not pro) and almost four years later its on health 87%
Probably bc I keep it shut down when I go to sleep, and never charge it over 80%

Usually, yeah - in StandBy mode. To be fair, when I had my 14 I was running personal hotspot on it for a fair amount of the day which would not have helped the battery life at all, it ran pretty hot even if it was the only thing it was doing, but 87% after four years is quite good tbh

I’ve only gone big since the 6s+. 17PM here. I upgrade yearly with T-Mobile jump/go5Gnext, I just pay tax on the new device and send my old one in, and the installment payment on the new device replaces the installment of my old one.

I’m fine with being locked in to T-Mobile, my family’s phones are all on it and I’m content with the service. We are fairly low income so buying outright isn’t an option, I don’t care about getting an unlocked phone, I just want the better camera and shiny new toy :)

My partner was considering switching to Samsung but she’s having second thoughts. She might sell her 15 and get the base 17.

Wait whats standby mode? There is a mode I don't know of?!😅 Maybe airplane mode?
I understand, yes hotspot probably needs quite some juice!

I dunno I was actually bummed its 87%, my iphone X had like 90% after 4 years! 😅
Anyways new models have different processors of course. But also I have some weird bug or so, since winter
that constantly activates the location services even though I don't have location services on😑
Anyways looking forward to the new models!

Edit: Or I remember it as 90% but maybe it was 80. Ugh sorry not important but had to correct myself

I'll be upgrading from a 15PM Nat Ti to the 17PM Blue as I've transitioned from an annual upgrade cycle to every two years.

it's the sideways clock looking thingy, it acts as my clock on my nightstand for when I am sleeping!

80% after four years seems more reasonable haha, I gave my grandma my iPhone X when the XS released, and it's at around 80 rn

I'll stick with my iPhone 12 mini, but might upgrade it to the 13 mini. I'd pay big bucks for a 17 mini (5.4 inch screen, less than 100g).
I would like that too, but for many people around the world, their cellphone is their only interwebz device and thus, they prefer a BIG screen. Most of the people I see in Mexico have BIG Android handsets. I can’t believe the chicas don’t crush or lose the phone that protrudes from the back pocket of their jeans.

I too await with eager anticipation of the colors but I'm leaning towards the Blue already. I hope it's a nicer blue than the PIXEL 10 XL. 😁
I am leaning towards orange, hope we will see no price hike on the Pro Max as rumored and only on the 17 Pro, because 256GB starting storage

Many will go for the Orange. If the shade is a bit darker than what I'm seeing of replicas I will reconsider it. Every year since the 13PM I've upgraded & purchased the 256GB in storage, so to pay $50 dollars more in my case is a bummer.

Fingers crossed that the increase in price is just speculation as they now have serious competition.

@Stiille What's your current iPhone model & battery health % ?

My iPhone was 15 PM with 89% battery health but sold it yesterday.
For few weeks my current iPhone is now the 16e and of course 100% battery health.
Will sell the 16e when I got the 17 PM in my hands

My 15 pro max and ultra 1 watch will be more than adequate for another year, probably two If there’s a foldable next year I might be tempted.

Having seen a clearer back picture on the crossbody strap thread, I now can’t wait for this phone. I always felt having a square bump in the corner was a bit silly, this is much more symmetrical and looks great.
