Preordering iPhone 3GS on Apple.com

The information I put in goes through and then the screen where you see the $30 data plan comes up. I hit continue and 'bam' error.

I tried using the main line on my account (I'm not the main line on the family plan) and still got the same error... This is like some sick joke right? :eek:

So there is no set time, you just go and find an orange shirt person and they'll hook it up huh?

What about for those who just show up? different line?

Uh oh. I got halfway through (picked a texting plan) and then it gave me an error. But then i got an email from 'concierge' saying to come in with a valid photo ID to complete my purchase -- but i never actually reserved one?
 
I originally had one of these pre-ordered at an Apple Store but realized they wouldn't allow me to get one since I'm still under my dad's account. Anyway, I called them and asked to cancel and they said that it won't matter because it's not like they have one reserved for me even though I went through the process. I chose pick-up the phone as well and this is what they told me. Am I/the person I talked to at Apple Store mistaken?
 
Got myself a new 32 GB iPhone 3G S.

First in line for iPhone Edge on launch day.

45ish on launch day for iPhone 3G.

and now I will have the 3G S shipped to me.


I am getting lazier as the years go by.

LOL. I talked to the La Jolla store, and the girl tried to transfer me to AppleCare technical support. Then she said the phone only debuts on the 20th. Their store doesn't deal with any pre-orders. Maybe they should transfer her over to ATT. Generally the Apple people are pretty clued in.

I was thinking of standing in line at the Palo Alto, CA Apple Store for the release until I saw the new iPhones...


... then I decided waiting in line wasn't worth it.

How do you get it for 299 if you have the 3g?
