Preordering iPhone 3GS on Apple.com

Apparently the site is back up and I'm still getting the same error.

I just kept re-entering the info and hit continue after ever 'error' page and I was eventually able to get through to the 'buy or reserve' page. It took about 10 times before I got lucky.

I am having mine delivered to work. Interesting that my status says 'delivered by June 19'. I wonder if some of us will get an early present next week?
 
After trying unsuccessfully about 50 times, I called, and have now been on hold for 2 hours and 23 minutes. Starting to get pissed, I fear. I want that two hours of my life back!

The tech support agent told me: 24 minutes is the current queue time. 2 hours 17 minutes later I'm thinking I shouldn't have listened to him.
 
yea I just went through the process but wasn't given an option to purchase / enter shipping information....

it just took me to a page that said "go to the Apple store and find a person in an orange shirt"

uh.... ok... did I do something wrong? am I not eligible to have it shipped?
 
Question:

I'm on a family plan. Only one of my lines is eligible for an upgrade. Can I upgrade that line and use the iPhone 3GS on my line?

You are lucky because I did that same process probably about 150 times or more (no joke) since about 4pm EST and still NOTHING! This is insane! :confused:
 
Two hours and 34 minutes on hold later, more than 70 attempts to get past the "Select A Rate Plan" screen of death, and I am really starting to get pissed. If I hear, "All our representatives are still helping other customers. Please hold until Jesus returns..." one more time I think I will go postal. I mean, seriously. Were they not expecting this????

Is it really soooo crucial that you order the phone TODAY? if so, suck it up and wait. I stood in line for 7 hours for the first phone and 5 hours for the 3G...being on hold on a phone for a couple of hourse while sitting on your couch in AC, with snacks and a footrest, gets no sympathy from me.
 
So after sitting on hold for more than 2 hours and 40 minutes, the freaking call was dropped!!!!!! Are you ***** kidding me????? I hate AT&T with a passion normally reserved for the worst of the worst. I am going to bed. What a waste of a night.
 
woot. scheduled delivery on the 19th. been waiting for a 32gb iphone for the last 8 months.

hopefully it will be easily jailbroken as i believe the dev-team has already stated 3.0 can be. can't stand the stock background/icons and for the most part that's the only reason to jailbreak anymore.

hmmm... now keep my 1st gen or sell it...

We started our contracts last August so I got the "reduced" price. The website was slow and i had to refresh a few times but the orders did go through. I'm glad I got this done because it wouldn't surprise me if, by tonight, the site says "sold out".

Unfortunately, we are leaving for a 1 week vacation the morning of the 19th. Gah! Maybe by some stroke of luck they will arrive a day early. Otherwise I'll have to make do with OS 3 on our 3G's until we get back.

Can I ask what the reduced price was? I'm confused. I go through the Apple site and seem to be seeing $499 for the 32GBs, but it seems to say I'd only be up for that in November of '09. Which would be my first anniversary date. So right now I'm guessing I'd have to pay full list. Whatever that is. Don't think I can go for that.
 
It just took me 5 minutes to order my 32GB model, and they still promise to have it here on launch day. I can't wait!

Were you replacing an existing phone with an iPhone? I have no idea why some people get through instantly and some of us have to try 200 times.
