I don't look at my computer and say wow I want a cool color, I care more about performance, can I upgrade it in the future. I am not a big fan of having to replace a computer every three years. With price tags of over $2500 they should last 6 years. Can I upgrade the memory, can I upgrade the internal storage or external storage, can I use a EGPU box for better graphics performance 3 years down the road and so on.

Then apple isn't for you

MaxTech has predicted this too. I think it makes a lot of sense, although these lower-end computers are not what I’m personally interested in. I wouldn’t mind seeing a few more color options for the “Pro” devices though.

Sorry to say, I worked for Apple computer along with being in the computer technology field for 45 years. Apple was the first computer before the PC that had expansion slots. Just because a iPhone has a color does not mean a computer needs a color. Do I need a semi truck to be orange or do, I care about the motor, the transmission, and steering to do the long haul work everyday.

then apple isnt for you, like everyone else is saying
Apple is providing us with performance best in class build quality and return policy and now with brilliant colours...go with hp/dell colors..but hurry up, i think they will start to copy the Apple recipe and bring also colours
Apple is offering now, choices...after silver and space grey, now even more..i love apple bring colour in our lives...
I hate people being old and grey minded...i see that a lot in UK..a lot of people also wearing black suits...

The bezels definitely should be white, and the keyboard as well, to keep the design coherence. But I seriously doubt we'll see colorful MacBooks. The palm rest areas would likely be washed out in a matter of months, making the whole thing look terrible. Unless they have invented a new dyeing method that we don't know of.

??? MacBook Airs and Pros are currently offered in space gray, silver, and gold (MBA only) - how would this concern not equally apply to those colors? Are there reports of this happening?

Agree about the bezels, though.

Bring on the colors.
But in the end, I want 16GB RAM and 512GB version available as one of the default configs. Please Apple, stop putting only 8GB RAM for the default config. And Apple, you yourself are not allowing BTO in some markets.

My iPhone SE (1st generation) [2016] wallpaper options are in colors similar to iMac.

As long as there's still a silver or grey option. I also want it to be able to drive two external 4K monitors, have 64GB Ram capacity, wifi 6, one legacy USB A port, USB C on both sides, and a real keyboard. I feel like all of those things are actually possible except the RAM which they'll probably keep at 32GB capacity. *oops, missed that this was for the Air. I'd still like to see an Air that had 32GB ram capacity.

I'm sure there's still the silver option available. Plus this is probably only for the consumer oriented Macbook Air model. The Pro models would probably just carry the classic silver/space gray coloring.

This is a Macbook Air, not a Macbook Pro.

Rather than colors, I rather see better internal specs that are in line with 2021.
Like more RAM and better capacity SSD (that is not similar to an iPhone...Kind of pathetic if you think)

If you insist. Went ahead and bumped up the chin a bit too.

I'm a little confused by all the negative comments on the colors. I am 'assuming" the grey and silver would still be available. if you don't want red or purple...then just don't buy it. The people that do want it will buy it. Why is more choice a bad thing?

I wouldn't exactly consider any of the iPad Air's color options as vibrant, haha.
While I appreciate the choices in color, they're all pretty drab and washed out when it comes to color vibrancy.
