Yeah, doesn't give us indication on each individual card's TDP. Hmm.
Does it matter? Since the original issues for some people is that these cards operate at a higher then 35W which will result in throttling due to heat

I was just wondering if the base GPUs were going to consume less power. But yes, I guess you have answered the OP's question.

Hey where can you buy custom macbook pro builds without sales tax? I know MacMall is one of them but I get a sales tax added at the end. It wasn't always like this until recently.
Yes BH photo carries many of the custom configurations. I just ordered a 15 inch upgraded model with the radio on 460 no tax except in ny state

Yes, assuming the 460 is just pushing more performance through similar circuitry, the 450 will consume less power. Not to mention the fans kicking in more frequently will draw more power.

More electrons pushed through a similar circuit = more performance = more heat. It's possible the heat differential is compensated in some way. Perhaps the heat sink is larger, or they modify the interior to draw away the heat more aggressively for the 460. But in addition to pushing 1.8x the performance of the stock gpu, the 460 also has twice the RAM, which also generates more heat.

We all have our "issues" with technology. Mine is noise. I don't like noise. And in general with technology, when there's more mechanical motion there's more vibration, more electrical fluctuations, noise, wear and tear on the system, and potential for failure.

I'm willing to bet they offered the 460 for the "I don't care, I just want performance" crowd. But if you want a quiet laptop with strong battery life, you're probably not the "gotta have the 460" user.

Obviously I don't game.

Worst case scenario: I would hear the Macbook Pro whilst editing and not playing any background music. In everyday cases though I'm confident the 460 would downclock just as much as the 450 would and thus not require the extra power and coupled fanspeed ;).

How is that a worst case scenario? That seems like the worst scenario you're willing to live with. Not the same thing.

Completely forgot about BH!

No Tax saves $200-300+ easily.. (depending on config)

Games will run mostly better in bootcamp (because most developers optimize for Windows and just port to Mac) - but I play WoW and Diablo 3 in macOS. The difference is not that large so I play in macOS because of convenience. If I want to play Overwatch, however, I have to go to bootcamp on my iMac, because there is no macOS option.

By the way, WoW uses Metal, so it may even run just as well in macOS as in Windows - didn't do tests. Either way, I played both WoW: Legion and Diablo 3 on my MacBook Pro 2013 in macOS and they work perfectly fine - on medium/high settings. M370X is 70% faster than my GeForce 750M. And Radeon Pro 455 is around 60% faster (or something like that) than M370X, while 460 is 120% faster according to Apple. Diablo 3 and WoW will work just great.
Just finished setting up my new Mac. Ran WoW at ultra settings and got 45-60 fps. I have the 460 dGPU.

In some areas I am now getting 80 fps on ultra settings. On low I am now getting 120+ fps. This thing is awesome.

In wow what resolution are you running and scaling settings?
At the new dalaran what's the fps at the spawn point when you teleport there?

I haven't been to dalaran yet. These are my settings:

So i know I don't need a 460 as I rarely edit video but what's the difference between the 450 and 455?

455 is about 40% faster than 455. While 460 is 70% faster than 450.

The most balanced config for money is :

2.7 Ghz Core i&
512 GB SSD
16 GB RAM
Radeon 455
What about
2.6Ghz core i7
512gb SSD
16GB RAM
Radeon 450?

Since I'm only getting the 15 inch for the screen size.
