The store I preordered at on the 16th told me they got a few to cover the preorders taken on the 14th, but not enough for the rest...yet. Expecting another shipment later today. In the meanwhile I've called a dozen locations around NYC, none have any available for walk-ins yet, but they're taking names and numbers down and claim they'll call if they receive any. Closest thing to hope thus far. I'm not sure if they're doing the same in smaller cities, but it's worth a shot to check around on Google Maps and give a few other locations a call.

ok, so i received a call at 8:15 am on my drive into work to let me know that my phone had come in. She asked me when I wanted to come and pick it up and I told them i would be there at 9:05. I left at 9:55. She took forever to activate the phones. It was actually quite painful to watch, but I tried to keep a positive attitude.

All in all it was better than waiting 4 hrs at an apple store this morning, which I honestly couldn't afford to do. Their process is just not particularly speedy nor even remotely efficient. I am pleased I did receive my phone though. She noted that I was the first one to preorder and the first to pick up. In the entire time that I was in the store, only one other person walked in. I cannot believe Radio Shacks are still in business. Crazy.

Oh and she also mentioned that they received enough phones to cover all of the preorders but no extra phones at all.

What carrier did you preorder, AT&T,Sprint, or Verizon?

So I received a call last night as I was leaving work from RS stating that they made a mistake. I was #2 on the list for the 32gb black iphone 5 and they only received one in their shipment. Smh. So I cant come pick it up tmw. They are still waiting on my white 16gb also.

My PO for a 32gb black did not arrive, but the store I PO'd from has several 16gb available for Verizon in white and black for sale to anyone, and so do several other RS locations I've called trying to find a 32gb.

What I am now considering doing is buying a 16gb black and seeing how it does with the scuff issues. If it's fine, I will exchange in a couple of weeks for a 32gb black, if not, I will exchange for a 32gb white.

I posted about it prior but I PO'd a 16GB AT&T black model. In Queens, NY.

Ohh sorry didn't look your post up. Good luck finding any AT&T or Verizon iPhone, chances are there sold out EVERYWHERE.

Can somebody do me a favor and Call this Radio Shack @ 702.260.8957 and ask them if they got there Sprint iPhone 5 Shipments? I called like 2 times this morning already, they know me by my voice! Lol.

Plz sum1 Thanks!
They disconnected my # I gave on the PO form and I told them if I can update it and they said no and I asked how your going to call me, then they hanged up :(

TheShack came through for 1 out of my 2 pre-orders. I also had placed 2 pre-orders on apple website on 9/14... one went into shipment today AM. The other was still processing, I was able to call AT&T and have them reset my cotnract (took 15 mts total)... walked into RS to pick up the 32 GB White iPhone... similar to other posters, it took at least 45 mts for activation... they were trying very hard to sell accessories (understandably so, since RS reps get commission on all accessory sales)...

I was also able to use my 2 $50 down-payment RS gift cards for the purchase of my 1 phone... I don't plan to pickup the other phone, since Apple shows as Preparing for Shipment. I've been unable to track on UPS... hoping the other phone is delivered by next week!

This is gonna sound messed up, But they only make commission when they sell accessories W/ the phone. So when they litterly force you to buy a case or something (I don't break I say no!), say no I already have one, leave the store, come back in 10 minutes and then come in and say I ordered the wrong case online, pick up a case and tell them to ring you up.

They get so pissed lmfao !

We're in this together.

Yup! I called 2 or 3 times yesterday, and when I called today and they knew who I was they said "Oh your XXXXX XXX, were still waiting for the phones" lmao too funny.

Classy.Karma will catch up eventually.
My RS experience was great! I was 1st in for a phone.
I too went to an AT&T store at 1030am to get a new SIM and the line was gone. They did have some nice gourmet pastries and 4Bucks coffee. There were 15 in line at 9pm last night and the AT&T person told me that they ran out of phones at 1020am.

I walked into RadioShack at 8:00 AM this morning, left with my 2 phones, activated, by 8:40. I was the only one there. Easy, painless. Drove by the AT&T store on the way to work and held up my iPhone box as I drove by the line that went around the block

Called in today, was told last night i would get mine today. Today was told that was incorrect. The verizon ones are all ordered through them and mine is not in. Latest it will be is october 5th.

Ohh well, its still sooner than my original apple.com order and could come sooner.

Cancelling RadioShack preorder

So I waited in line at Verizon this morning and was told that I couldn't upgrade and buy the phone with Verizon because I've already pre ordered with RS. I called RS to cancel my order but they can't cancel the order until the phone comes in and they have the serial number. That means if the phone doesn't come in for weeks than I can't buy the phone from anywhere else until it comes in. Did this happen to anyone else?

If you received the email from Verizon after you placed the preorder through RadioShack, you can cancel by calling Verizon customer service. That is what I did when I found that my RadioShack didn't get get the iPhone for me. It is quick and easy. Good luck.

After I got my phone this am at RS,I had to go to the AT&T store for a new SIM.AT&T ran out of phones at 1010am for those who waited in line BUT they received another shipment when I was there. So you may want to call a nearby AT&T store and check.

Does everyone with ATT have to do this? go to ATT for a new sim?

Just canceled my RS preorder after walking into a Verizon store and buying one with no line. Will use my gift card for an adapter.

Just out of curiosity, does Apple set price rules for third-party retailers such Best Buy, Radioshack, etc? Verizon was lacking on the color/model I wanted, so I hit up Radioshack this morning for a 16GB Verizon iPhone 5.

Since I don't have an upgrade until next year, I expected to pay $649, but was charged $699. I was met with the response of 'well that's what we pay Apple for them' which sounds fishy and more like price gouging.

Anyways, it was a $50 difference and I was just seeing what people had to say.

That's actually wrong. They get commission regardless if they sell accessories or not. They press you on accessories because they need to make there sale goals. For each phone they have to attach at least $30 worth of accessories. Keep in mind once you scratch the phone you can't return it.

Ok

My Radio Shack has had a busy signal since I called and the phone "hung up" on me.
