Dont worry, the new iPhone 5 uses a smaller sim. You have to get a new one anyways.

my radioshack said everyone who preordered on friday got their phones, but anyone afterwards did not. i was the second person to preorder on saturday and was told that i would receive it launch day. i'm just going to wait it out since i already have the radioshack gift card, but this will be the last time i do business with them.

I've been at radio shack for three hours and they have yet to get my two iphones activated. I saw them personally and very happy but come on.. jesus AT&T. They keep getting kicked out of the activation process. Meh.
Oh well, atleast I got the phones.

OK, so i PO mine 9/16 and RS guaranteed I would have my iphone launch day! I called the store and they told me apple did not send of enough to fill their PO's. Like y are they allowed to guarantee something they don't know for sure. I have to just sit here n wait for their call cause I have this nonref gift card. I was the sixth to PO and they did say they got an initial order, so less than 5, which is crap. Water damaged my 4, so i have my dads old first iphone, yes the freakin tank of a phone with no battery life, so I desperate. OK rant over.

They told me they can't ring it up for the upgrade price until they can connect to att with the contract info.
Ah, that sucks. However makes sense.
And yeah, my RS hasnt been answering their phone for all day. I called 10 (TEN) times in a 3 hour period and they finally answered on the 10th call. Before it would just ring and ring and ring. When they answered they sounded swamped.
For everyone wondering if you will get your phone? As we can see now its NOT guaranteed you will get your phone. I PO Monday around 5pm at a store that did not get very many PO and mine didn't come today. Being honest with myself, I'm expecting mine to arrive by next weekend.
Last year when I got my 4s from RS, they couldn't even activate my phone, but happy I was able to get it period. Went to ATT after trying at RS and they activated it for me.
PS: STAY AWAY FROM THE ZAGG PRODUCTS.
Why stay away? I used a ZAGG Shield on my Infuse 4G for nearly a year. Prob the best screen protector I have ever used hands down.
So I PO'ed at my local radio shack and they called me up yesterday, out of the blue, just to inform me that their sister RS in Reno only received 60% of their iphones. So their message to me was, "you might not get it tomorrow."
I called the Apple store and they have plenty in stock. I now want to cancel my preorder with RS and buy the phones from the Apple store.

Is there anyway to get refund on gift cards? I pre ordered 3 iPhone 5s and none of them came in. Camped out at AT&T and got 3 phones so I'm good. I would just like to cancel my pre order and get my money back. If I buy something and return it will they refund it to a gift card?

You don't have to cancel anything (unless you preordered a Verizon version). When they call just tell them you are all set and they will give it to the next person.
Your gift card is non-refundable so just use it on something else there.
Im telling you right now there is 0 chance you will get a refund on those gift cards. The whole point of them making you purchase that is if people do what you did, they still get money. Sorry, try buying some cases or something.
No refund. If you buy with giftcard and return you get another giftcard. Sell it or do what another person on here mentioned and buy an Amazon giftcard with the radioshack one. Not sure but do they sell iTunes giftcards in store?

i was on the waitlist for verizon iphone at 5 radio shacks. i went to verizon store this am and got my phone. i ended up getting a call from 3 of those radio shacks saying they have more in stock than anticipated.
the sprint, at&t and verizon stores don't look to have more than 10 people on line either.
maybe its just nyc.
