F RS PO!! I never got a call about my Sprint iP5, or they didn't know when I would get them. I was waiting up until 4PM like a idiot, and decide to go to a Sprint Store to see if I can pick one up, and guess what? I walked out with the last 64GB WHITE iP5!!! So freakn happy!!!! So many ppl were coming and asking if they had any more, an all the employees said " We just sold that guy the last one". Some white lady even offered me $1,300 for my 64GB iP5. I was like hell ********** no!! I've been waiting like a iDiot all day! Lol

I would have taken that $1,300,lol. Congrats on your new phone. Hope I het a call from the shack in the morning.

I CALLED every single possible store where they sell the Sprint iPhone (I'm in Las Vegas) and ALL THE SORES WERE SOLD OUT (BestBuy, Other Sprint Stores, Walmart, Target, etc). BUT the. I called this Sprint Store. And they said come in that they may have a few left. And luckily I walked out with this iPhone.
 
So I PO my ATT iphone at RS down the street from me and of course they had no idea when the shipment would arrive so I asked for my 50 dollars back and they of course said no, so I found the number to the district manager and and demanded they refund my 50 bucks, I needed a new phone badly since I sold my iphone 4 yesterday. I went back to the RS, got my $50 and headed down to the local apple store (3pm 9/21) where I waited in line for 40 minutes and received my new iphone in less than 20 minutes, ready to use in no time. I should have just went that route to begin with. What a ********* up operation RS is running.
 
Like I said !

I got mine I got the notification from FedEx at 10:01 am said it was at RS :cool: so I head down ther when I walk in they were like ya? I'm here to pick up my phone !!! They were almost in shock how I knew even If it was ther . Telling me that they would call me to let me know once they sort the Oders to know for sure if mine came! I told the mannger look here as i showed him on my iphone that he sighed for it!!! I was the second person there waiting . The guy at radio well ok but I don't think we can give it to you until after 3pm wtf! :eek: why I said that make no since it's here it's paid for its in my name. now I'm not trying to an ******* but don't play games! :mad: I work nights secrity Im 225 5/9 6 %body fat don't F with me I'm tried and work tonight give me my f<€king phone so I can sleep in peace! So the manager RS gos in the back makes a call and said ok boss let's do it . All I can say thank you RS / verizion I got my iPhone 5 and yes I would preorder from them Agian so long as I'm a verizion customer.

What it is they want to set appointments and not rush you in and out and try to up sell you on stuff you can buy on amazon for less then half the price. I understand I but I wasnt haveing it got my phone and go home :cool:
 
My issue with Radio Shack isn't that they didn't receive they're shipment per say. Its the whole preorder process period. It should have been specifically clear you may not get it.

Its really not a preorder (except Verizon). Its more of a reserve..they basically hold you one of what they get. It should have been said "We are expecting x amount of phones, if you buy a giftcard we can try our best to hold one for you when our shipment comes". A true preorder you usually pay in full and are guaranteed to receive the product in case of some crazy circumstance.

Then they act completely different when you are wondering what went wrong. " We don't know when its coming ", "Its not our fault", "Who told you that you would receive it? I don't know why they told you that."

Its simple, you did not have a preorder deal with carriers that said they would satisfy your orders at launch. Just take responsibility for your actions and own the fact that you are wrong. At they very least offer to refund the giftcards that customers were tricked into buying them.
 
Well going to call again this morning and see what story I get today. I don't mind the truth just hate them saying there's a good chance everyday. Hopefully they get the phone in a timely fashion and not two to three weeks

Someone really offered you $1,300 for your phone and you turned them down? You need to readjust your priorities. That was completely stupid. You could have sold that, bought a new phone at retail price, and made like $500.

People these days need to learn the word "patience"

I figured that come Friday (yesterday) I would just go to the local Verizon store and try my luck at getting a phone which is what I should have just stuck with.

That was my plan until I found out that RS was doing preorders. I didn't find out until early last week so I didn't get the chance to preorder until Tuesday (18th) but when I went in to preorder they didn't act like that would hurt my chances or anything so I went ahead with the preorder. I knew that there was a possibility I wouldn't get phone on the 21st but I still hoped.

Called Friday morning and was told that they had just received their shipment and was reminded that they would call me when mine was ready. A few hours passed with no phone call. Not wanting to seem annoying with calling a bunch I had a friend call to see what the status was of the phones and they told her that their system was down. I was never told if my phone had actually been one of the ones that came in or not which worries me but I feel like there weren't many preorders at my store.

So, it is now Saturday and I'm beginning to worry. It would be nice if they would at least tell me if mine was available or not, I've checked the order number through Verizon's website but that just tells me it won't ship until October 5th. I'm hoping that isn't 100% right.

Should I try my luck of going to the store today to see if mine even came in? I'm tempted to cancel and see if Verizon has any left but I'm pissed about the $50 giftcard.

They have some Bussiness cards by the cash register with there #, or call a RS were they don't know you and ask if you can have the DM #

I'm tempted to drive over there and check. Maybe I'll go and look at cases or something and see what's going on with the phones. I'm in a town that isn't relatively large so even if they didn't get a specific preorder, I would at least think that the shipment they received would have a variety of phones, but you never know. I'm just so frustrated about the giftcard which is my own stupid fault.

I live in NYC, which adds another layer of frustration to this whole process. Dont blame yourself for this. Im sure your Radio Shack spoke to you as if there was NO WAY you wouldnt get your phone yesterday, which is exactly what they said to me and countless others.

I want to call this morning and ask about their shipments because they are giving us NO direction. They could have at least called their customers Friday, apologized, and explained the situation. I waited until I got so worked up I couldnt take it anymore, called them, and was told they only got their Verizon phones in.
 
Seriously,you could have sold it and pocketed quite a bit and paid full price for an unlocked one very soon.:p

No way, youre not a cheapskate. $50 IS alot to waste, especially at a store I don't even shop at. Its the only thing that's keeping me depending on Radio Shack. I would have went elsewhere.

Why do people say "they had the wrong shipping address"?No,they had the last address you gave them.Who's fault is that?Accept responsibility for any issues from then on because you didn't update YOUR address before you ordered.
That was the case with many orders from all carriers on the other huge order threads.It caused a delay and in some cases the order was delayed until October.
 
No call and no information he said if they get it today they will call. He said most likely Monday. Hope this doesn't go on for weeks
 
$50 is a lot to me too.I believe you can buy an Amazon gift card with your RS gift card so that may offer you more options to use it if need be.
I say call the store now and again before closing.I called 2x late Thursday and Friday morning at 815am,45 mins b4 they opened.

Well, just returned from RadioShack and I am now more frustrated than ever.

Yesterday when I called them they said that had received their shipment of phones, and later they said they couldn't set up the phones because their system was down. Not once did they say how many phones they had received.

Just went to RadioShack, figured I'd look at cases and while I was there, ask about my preorder. The guy told me they didn't have their phones yet. I said "hmm, that's funny, when I called yesterday they told me that you had received the shipment of phones." He responded with "oh well, we only got 1 phone and that guy already came and go it."

I understand that them not getting phones may very well be Apple's fault but I am so tired of hearing different things from different people. When I asked if they had any idea when their next shipment would be coming, they had no idea.

I'm giving them until Wednesday and if I've still received no call I'll check with the Verizon store then call and cancel my RadioShack order.

Actually they did use the wrong address. I put one address in the form and was told it was invalid, so I used a different address. The second address is the one that was accepted and was the one that showed up with my order but when I received the order confirmation email it had the first address I gave them that wasn't accepted.

If I made an honest mistake I would accept the responsibility but no, it was them this time. They shouldn't say an address is invalid, ask for another one, then use the original one. I will admit that I was uncertain as to whether or not that address would work for them to ship, but the fact that they didn't accept it and then used it anyways baffles me.
 
My local apple store had the white 16gb only in stock. I wanted the black but settled for the white. Stuck with this RS gc, I might just get a case or something...:( o well I will never use RS crap corporation again(like I ever did)
This phone is awesome!! Hope u all get urs soon!
