RS owns them.. anyhow you have 30 days to exchange it.
 
Called. No phones and no idea when they'll get them. WHy the **** did i cancel my Apple order..

My thing is, why doesnt Radio Shack KNOW when they're getting their shipment. If I can go onto Apple.com or wherever and order a phone and at least get a shipping estimate, why cant radio shack? I dont get it.
 
You guys obviously didn't read my post did you? Call the DM and get your 50 dollars refunded and walk your asses over to the Apple store.
 
My launch day plan was to wait in line at the Apple store and ditch if RS happened to actually come through with my PO as planned. So i called RS Thursday night and the clerk confirmed my phone was there and setup an appointment for me to come in and pickup at 9:00 am Friday morning. I was there when the doors opened and the manager was a little shocked to see me since her first iphone appointment wasn't until 10:30. She checked the stock in the back and said my phone hadn't come in. There were 2 32 gb phones that belonged to the preorders in line before me, but mine hadn't arrived.

She wasn't at all apologetic and gave me this attitude like she suspected I was making up the whole story in an attempt to snag an early phone. Upon leaving i called Sam's Club and Walmart, both of whom claimed not have received even one phone. I was headed home when a friend working near the Apple store called to let me know there were less than 10 people in line. I made the 20 minute drive to check it out and there were 3 people in line by the time i got there at 9:30. I was afraid they were sold out and had turned everyone after those 3 folks away. However, they had plenty of stock and were apparently getting more in as we waited. I spent less than 30 minutes in line and was home with my new phone in no time.

For those of you similarly stuck with a $50 RS gift card, i can confirm that you can buy an amazon kindle gift card. I just bought one at the Radio Shack where did my preorder. No taxes or anything - it's an even trade and as far as I can tell RS won't make a dime off the transaction.

I don't have to walk my ass to the apple store seeing I have my phone already. I called the DM and I had to leave a message. My mom might buy the GC from me to buy her iPhone from RS. Problem solved thanks tho!

That would be awesome if the nearest Apple store wasn't 4+ hours away.

If RS doesn't call me by Wednesday then I'll just cancel and figure out something to do with my giftcard.

Go into RS and demand that they call the DM in front of you and to give you back your 50 bucks. It was pretty simple.
 
I placed an order Monday evening at my local store. The associate was sure I would get it first day or at least Sat by the latest.

According to what I'm hearing, they received all the preorders from the first day. Anyone that ordered after that did not get their phone BUT they did receive more. The extra phones were sent to the warehouse so people coming in launch morning could buy a phone. Some phones were sold this way and are shipped directly to their homes. Another words people that showed up Friday got one but my preorder 4 days earlier is not filled an no indication to when they might get any more in.

My first and last preorder with Radio Shack.
 
Radio shack again did not have my phone. They said they will get a shipment next week and they don't know the day. I said I have to do what I have to do. I went to the apple store in DC and they had tons in stock. Even the white 32 gigs. Should have done that in the first place. Happy to have mine now. Hope you all enjoy your phones.
 
I ordered Monday morning and my black 16g AT&T came in Thursday night,so I got it Friday morning.The RS store only received 2 phones,mine and a white 16g AT&T.They said they would receive more today.
I have called 2 A&T stores and they both received additional shipments on Friday & Saturday,as did Apple but the nearest Apple store is an hour away.
I realize how fortunate I am but I will not order with RS next year but simply go to either AT&T store or Apple on release day.No need to camp out all night.Nor will I stay awake until 430am just to get an Oct 5 delivery date from both Apple and AT&T.

I called my local RS and the lady I talked to said her next shipment of Iphones will be Wednesday, she said her Iphone is coming that day so that means I'm getting mine. I hope ha AT&T btw

Do you have to pay full price for an iPhone 5 at the apple store?

I preordered an iPhone on RS and they told me they'll call me cus they haven't received anything plus they were telling me when I PO it I will get it Friday Saturday or Monday

Glad to see others are experiencing this crap from RS. I was the first to preorder on the 14th for a sprint iphone and the store only received their verizon batch, and they had no clue on when they were getting any of the other carriers. I'm going to see if any of the other stores around here have extras and see if I can get my $50 back.
 
My local RadioShack only received phones from Verizon. as of late Saturday night still had those two but my AT&T preorder has not come In. Lake many of you I've experience the same frustration with these idiots from RS. How a company does a preorder without shipping info is beyond me!! they do not know when any phones are coming in, which is by far my biggest problem with them. I kept my end of the bargain with that stupid gift card, but they can't keep theirs!!
 
Att has been getting shipments all weekend I was told to check back Monday morning because they may get more they don't know until they are delivered. I am going to check apple today to see if by luck they have a bigger gig model in stock. As for radio shack hopefully they call Monday but I don't feel confident. They hustled everyone to preorder so people have to buy cases and crap with the deposit
 
Went to my local AT&T, they should be getting in a new shipment within the next two weeks. Ill just call next Monday to see if they got it in and go with them.

While in the store I got to get my hands on the iPhone on display and it calmed alot of my nerves. Theres not THAT much difference. I can live without it for another couple weeks if need be.


I just think the ****ed up part is everything I went to for this preorder. Never doing it again. Im just lining up at a carrier next time. If there is a next time.

This has happened with each release since RS started carrying Apple products. Why is this news to anybody? Why wouldn't people READ and heed the advice of others who went before them, and posted their experiences here?
 
Unfortunately I didn't find this forum till it was too late. Has anyone preordered a iphone from previous years? How long did it finally take after the launch to receive your PO from RS. Tomorrow is a new day and week hope the phone comes soon. My iphone 4 barely working anymore been waiting for an upgrade just feels like its going to take awhile by the time I ger one of these stupid things
 
RS had mine Thursday and I would have had it @ 9am Friday if AT&T would have had their s*** together regarding their activation system.

The manager was on the phone for hours on hold with AT&T to do a manual contract, but after 3 hours on hold (he showed me the phone) there was a click and the call was disconnected.

My RS went above and beyond to get me my phone Friday. AT&T never got their s*** together so I decided to wait until Saturday am to try again. The manager called me and said he was going in early to try the activation again. I got my flawless (lucky I guess) black iPhone 5 first thing Saturday. The whole experience has me loving my RS and feeling aggrevated @ AT&T.

I probably didn't look hard enough but I really didn't find much saying whether the preorder was a bad idea or not. I was feeling sort of desperate because I have no Apple store anywhere close and I was uncertain of if I would be able to get somewhere on Friday early enough to buy one. I now realize my mistake but I really didn't have very many options since I probably wouldn't be able to use my address (I live in a dorm) if I were to order online.

Yes, I am quite frustrated with the misinformation from RadioShack but it's not the end of the world. I get my phone when I get it.
