Has anyone received a call from radio shack to pick up their PO after the launch.
You cancelled and its still coming?
Now Im wishing I hadnt cancelled my 10/5 order. Ughhh.
No, no one has. Not one single person has gotten a call to pick up their pre-order.![]()

It would have been nice of them to reach out but I guess that's too much to ask for.
Agreed. Im calling today after work.
So I called my local RS this weekend and asked when they expect my i5 to arrive. They said they were almost positive it would arrive by Tuesday (today). So I called today to find out that they have not received any shipment and when I asked when they expect one, the told me "Honestly, we have no clue".
Now, I completely understand that the store may have no clue. So I'm not irritated at the associate or even the store it self. What I'm BEYOND pissed about is the fact the RS as an organization would allow this to happen. What they should have had was a GUARANTEED amount of PO from apple and then only sold EXACTLY that amount for PO throughout the nation, that way EVERYONE that PO actually gets a phone within the weekend. Instead they sold who knows how many and hopped for the best, screwing over the customer just to make a quick $50 from a GC.
So now I'm left with, "we have no idea when we will receive your phone, just be patient". Well guess what, I could have had a phone FIVE ********NG DAYS AGO if I didn't use your PO service and just went with my provider. Instead I'm stuck with a GC that I refuse to use for accessories because that's where you all make your money.
This WILL be the LAST time I ever deal with RS. I can easily get any part from them from Amazon for cheaper and better service. Yes, I will say that my local RS has friendly / helpful employees. But from what has happened, I refuse to give my hard earned money to a company that clearly doesn't give 2 s**ts about it's customers. Even look at their FB page. They have copy/paste responses for every complaint.
OH! And not to mention. I called another store after that to see if they had any in stock and he tells me "we don't have any at our store, however if you want a 64GB, you can order it and it will arrive in two days because we have lots in our warehouse". WTF? Why don't you send those to the stores for the people that are looking instead of whoring them at your warehouse?? (I understand I am not in that career field so there might be underlying reasons for this however it doesn't make any sense to me)
Yes, after writing this LONG rant, I could get a phone call stating my phone just arrived... However let's be real. We all know that for the rest of us that are still waiting, it could be awhile. Just try not to think that your local provider / apple store prob has fresh shipments daily while RS stockpiles them at their warehouse.
I called multiple times last week so I'm trying to hold off. Plus, every time I've called, I've only ended up disappointed so I'm just going to try and let it be a pleasant surprise assuming the call comes soon.
I try to pace my calls out, I havent spoken to them since Saturday I think.
But I work between two AT&T stores and they both told me to feel free to keep checking in so I do every couple of days.
I called the radio shack I PO from and asked for any available iphone 5. He said no but we're doing pre orders again and I asked if they fulfilled all the PO orders and he said everyone was filled. So I call back asking if my pre order was in, at this point he knew he was a deer in headlights, and said no and his manager is not in and to call back tomorrow. Tomorrow I will go in and may cut my losses and order one from att and wait the three or four weeks. This is unprofessional and dishonest the way RS is handling this. At this point I feel like they gave away my PO to their friends
I wish my RS would at least acknowledge the fact that people are waiting on iPhones. I don't know that there were a lot of preorders where I'm at but still, you'd think it would be easier for them to keep up with customers if there weren't as many. The manager usually seems to be the one who answers when I call and she tries to talk as little as possible and always seems annoyed with me.
I just called the local store I preordered from and spoke to the manager and basically got he same response, He doesn't know when they'll have them and he thinks he'll hear something later this week.
I did call around to all of my local Radio Shacks and everyone of them is supposed to call me if they get any stock but so far I haven't heard from any of them.
I was told by the manager at the store I ordered from that the gift cards are nonrefundable, but I'm hoping if it comes down to it I can get my cash back for it.
I whole heatedly agree That RS should only have accepted preorders for phones they actually were able to deliver. Thats the difference between a Preorder and a backorder.
One store I did talk to did tell me that I could place an order in the store and have it shipped to my home in 3 days, I'm thinking thats BS if they can't even fill there preorders!
