Radio Shack iPhone 5 pre order

I went into a Radio Shack on Monday and preordered a white 32gb. I called today, and they said they have one available for me tomorrow!! I was the first one to order a white 32gb, so I'm pretty excited. I preordered one on ATT's website at 6:30am last Friday, but never received the terms and conditions email so I would be placed in the "shipment queue", so my shipment date got pushed back to mid-October. I canceled the order on AT&T's website Monday, and preordered at Radio Shack Monday afternoon.

I wasn't sure if I was going to be able to go pick my phone up tomorrow or not!!

So much easier!! I'll definitely be preordering from Radio Shack next time!! :)

Radio Shack didn't promise anything. The big giant print out that they handed you with your pre-order specifically says that you are not guaranteed a phone by any date and that due to high demand it may take weeks to receive your phone.

As a general rule you should probably read things before you sign them. Just a heads up so that you don't end up signing 18% car loans some day.

I understand what you are saying. I quote the associate verbatim:
Me: Will I get my phone on the 21st?
RS: Yes, you will get your phone on the 21st. Anyone who preorders with us will get the phone on Friday.
Me: Are you sure?
RS: Positive

I respond to this by buying the gift card. Once I have bought the gift card, he hands me a receipt where I read about the no guarantee clause. He says that he will call me before Friday.

I am not as miffed about not getting the phone tomorrow as much as about misreprentation. If the same RS associate had said "We are likely to get the Phone to you by Friday but if not, it may take a few more weeks" before ringing up a non refundable card, I could have then made an informed decision.

How many times have you asked a checkout clerk to give you the T&C document before paying? And please don't use the car loan analogy - behavior like this is often dictated by the economic impact one is looking at. When it comes to banking products, I look at the MITC with a fine tooth comb before accepting anything. Not the same for a 200 dollar phone.

This is my first iPhone ever and instead of being excited about it, I do feel a little blah and if the pre-sales experience was better, it would be nice.

Ok so I called and he said theyre calling customers in the order of which they placed preorders, starting today. I placed mine on the last day they were taking preorders so I probably wont be getting a call until tomorrow.

He had a thick accent but he said "the phones have the customers name on it". So I think I'm okay. I placed a preorder. Im on the list. They just dont want people to bum rush the store so I just have to sit around like a nervous wreck tomorrow at work waiting for my phone.

My nerves are going to fry.
 
10/5 was the date for both my Apple & AT&T orders.When I ordered on Monday morning I was told tomorrow I would be good to go.If not,I'll still be alive and ANY date before 10/5 is a bonus.I expcet mine tomorrow even though my store still says tomorrow mornning for their shipment.

Don't get me wrong I hope all of you get your phone ! I'm just saying I have lots of friends that don't have any info from RS once they preorderd from them . Especialy if you ordered from sprint , at&t, but Agian they got estimated delivery 26th and so on:( thats even with verizion late comers ! I got confirmation from verizion as soon as I preorderd it said 21 to expected to be delivered 3 days later I got the notice from V. With the fedex trac # And yes it going to RS but at least i know it coming and I can check the trac # cause they dont have a clue !so if you got that to don't worry :cool: if not then :confused: worry ! And yes you will get one it's just a matter of when!

I placed mine on the last day and i am 3rd on the list.

If I do come across as condescending in any of my posts, I do apologize to the forum. That was not my intent.
 
Just got off the phone with my RadioShack and asked if the preordered phones are there yet...she said something about possibly getting a drop shipment in the middle of the day tomorrow..

..bottom line, I will be in line at the apple store at about 5am
 
I called again. They have not scheduled any pick up times yet. They haven't received any phones yet. They are supposed to receive some phones at 7am. Looks like I'll be camping out at AT&T tonight.
 
i was the first person to preorder at the radioshack by me, and i have yet to get a call so we will see how this goes lol
 
I don't think my store has many preorders at all. I just called my store to double check about when I can come in to get the phone tomorrow. He immediately knew who I was and told me what time he'll be in tomorrow and said he was going to call me as soon as he gets in. We'll see...
 
Not sure if I'm getting my phone tomorrow. I just called and said that Verizon was coming in a different shipment and could be here by Monday or Tuesday... I see most of the people here stating that some stores will get it delivered tomorrow morning. If only they could give me a clear answer...

Looks like I'll be out camping somewhere
 
Tried again and no dice. Out of curiosity, i called the store about a mile away and they have theirs.

Even if i don't get a call, i am going to morrow at 9am. I work about 4 min away from the store and it is only about 1 minute out of my usual route.
 
Radioshack came through for me. Pre-ordered friday, just got a call asking me to pick it up tomorrow.
 
Has anyone with verizon gotten a call? I have a feeling verizon orders are all being delivered tomorrow.
 
Hello everyone I figure I would update my RS PO status. I live in Long island NY and just got off the phone with radio shack. I preordered my i5 on monday the 17th late in the day and spoke a a manger today that told me I could come in at 845 to pick it up tomorow morn!
 
I preordered Mon night and I just called and they told me there is a "slight delay". Looks like they had a plan sell a boat load of 50 gift cards!!!

Which model did you order. Carrier size and color
 
I just got a call from RS saying that the sprint iPhones did not come in and they will call me tomorrow and let me know if they get them.
 
I spoke to the manager of the RS I placed the pre-order with and he was pissed because he has to be there at 6:30am tomorrow to receive his shipment of phones.

lol. Still hoping mine shows but I have a bad feeling about it. When I track my order on the VZW website, it still shows an expected ship date of 10/5.

How do you track your radioshack order on the verizon website?
