Ha ha, how ignorant! It's actually laughable

So you were worried, 'dreading' even, getting your iPad but just because you received a 'perfect' one you now think everyone here is 'scaremongering as per' Unbelievable!
Let me tell you, if you had of received one that had uneven, tinted screen or one with dead pixels or dust under the screen, you'd have been here on this thread joining the rest of us and telling us all how upset you are, pissed off, etc. etc. But no, you've got a good one so clearly we're all crazy scaremongers.................. WTF! Some people are sooooo ignorant it's untolerable.

It's really different when the shoe is on the other foot , how some quickly forget how things are or could have been.... I agree with your post!

There has been fear mongering here at times. It's the stupidest thing in the world for someone to actually be worried or afraid to purchase an iPad with millions of them already sold, NONE of whom are being returned.

No, I've got better things to do then hold my iPad at ridiculous angles in dark rooms, looking for light bleed and uneven colours while denying I have OCD.

And I never said I was dreading getting my iPad, I said I was dreading seeing the quality of screen I would get after reading some of the stuff on here. I also never once said everyone was scaremongering, I said a handful are. There is quite a difference, on both counts, ... get your facts right in future if you want to quote me.

And I am only ignorant when I have to tolerate idiocy.

None of which....

None returned in millions of iPads bought, lol, you might want to source that, if apple can hit the none in millions return rate then are not manufacturing from the sweatshops at foxconn but from a nasa's lab with some insane quality control no one has ever attained in the world.

I ve been told that dead pixels are not in the warranty, is this correct?

You are right in that a lot of people are particularly anal about this stuff, but that's not to say that the new iPad doesn't have screen quality issues. It does. The former two models despite the occasional and frequent bleed did not. I own both and both have some bleed, but I don't mind. That's quite different though to a few dead pixels and screen tint. The new screen technology is to blame for them. Apple of course won't acknowledge it (they didn't even aknowledge their antenna design for the iPhone 4 had a problem, and thn they went ahead and redesigned the antenna in the 4s...) and we can't be certain on how prevalent or how much of a problem it is, so one can only speculate.

First of all, according to a manager that believes I should get a good iPad, said that dead pixels are an issue, but I also think AppleCare+ would cover that

My apologies for not taking into your account your complete lack of reading comprehension. Let me explain in very simple words what I said above.

I did not say that no iPads had been returned. I said that there are millions of iPads that have been purchased which have not been returned.

Are you capable of grasping my meaning now?

Are you sure theydo though, I was reading apple don't have a dead pixel policy.

Some people expect too much.

If you're up to 8 or more replacements, you're looking for a reason to get a new device. Any product you buy you'll find a defect. You won't notice em until you take your time to find them. Then you're THAT guy at the store complaining because it must be perfect. Be happy you're in a position to even own a device. Otherwise, don't exchange. Give your device to a local school, and go get a new one to your standards.

Now I say that with ease - I mean yeah, if the screen is jacked, or there is a major defect then sure, exchange it. But a dead pixel. Really?

I wonder what people will invent for the next issue on the next release.. This phenomenon with making up issues on product release is is really interesting.. Real apple thing..

look at my pictures from the previous page and tell me there's no problem with a pink tint and that it's invented. I showed applecare the pictures and they were amazed too.

Issues aren't being made up. Some people are just taking issues that apply to a minority percentage of people (no way of knowing how small or large that percentage actually is) and trying to make everyone "afraid" of running into these same problems, or believe that the problems effect every single iPad out there but that most people are just too stupid to realize it.

No, wheelman because you aren't making sense, it's only in your illogical thinking that you think you do.

If apple sell 5 mil iPads, and have a 20% return rate, 1 person out of 5 is returning their iPad, they still manage to sell 4 million iPads and have some bozo say what are you complaining about to the one out of five that gets a rotten apple... what are you complaining about and fear monging apple has sold millions which have not been returned.

Wheelman if you are over 15 and you are still saying iPads sold, "of whom" you might want to go back to your studying and leave the forums, and do your homework at math, because logic is not your strong point.

Yes some people are stupid to realise a few things, I'll agree with you there.:)

Sorry for the consecutive post, thought it would add it to the above.

Real apple thing is the suppression of real issues by apple and via hordes of fanbois, cultists and self appointed apologists. That's the real apple thing.

Apple is the only company in the world that can screw up an antenna design in a phone, not admit to it, after pressure and evidence mounts call people up and tell them in an auditorium that we didn't screw up but anyway we offer free cases that help with the problem, continue selling the problematic product as is with no alteration (axing the exec responsible for it in the process the one they recently hired mark papermaster), and then go on and alter their antenna design in the next iteration (of the exact phone design) precisely because they "didn't screw up" and there wasn't any problem with the antenna design to begin with. No other company in the world can pull this off.

Even though I'm a huge fans of Apple, I have to say the QC on the new iPad is quite bad, I gave up on mine and returned it.

The good thing is after returning all the iPads (I tried about 6 of them), I don't think I have to have an iPad. I'm just going wait for the new MacBook Pro instead. Yeah I've save some money :)

Hopefully there won't be any screen problem on the new MacBook Pro :D

PS: The screen on the new iPad is amazing (expect the deal pixels and yellow tint or pink on the bottom of the screen)

You are giving WeegieMac what he/she/it wants, Attention. I would not even address those posts.

It is clear there are display issues in a LARGE number of ipads. Return it until you get one that works.

I suspect as time passes this problem will deminish to a point where we will see posts from people saying....."What problem, I went in and walked out with a perfect one".

I might go as far as saying that all of these posts about screen issues are useless! They have not caused Apple to respond and I would not expect them to respond. The bottom-line impact for any admission would be catostrophic.

don't fall for it. someone is clearly trying to push your buttons.

I'd return any display in a heartbeat for a dead pixel.

Oh dry your eyes.

I said a HANDFUL of people scaremongering.

I didn't mention usernames or specific threads.

So while I am certainly not self centred, you most certainly appear to be paranoid.

Edit: I just noticed you posted before my last post you took issue with. Here is a hint, if I was referring to you I'd have quoted you.

LOL, the dry your eyes had me rolling on the floor laughing. I warned this person not go into the Apple Store already looking for problems. Look what happened... stuck with another iPad they don't really want while I enjoy a flawless iPad. Those stupid tests do nothing!!!

the iPad i checked at the store was the one that had bad backlight bleed, literally shining out of the bezel even at low screen brightness levels. I didn't notice it at the store because the lighting is very bright. It's okay though. The fact that I can post pictures that clearly show how defective at least one of the units is and that you can ignore/discount it while making fun of others.. well, i wish you luck I guess.

The screens are fine. Stop obsessing over small things and enjoy your iPad.

Man I wish you'd told me that 2 months ago before I went through 6 iPads to finally settle for an ok one! Had I known there was someone here who has seen ALL the screens (you have seen them ALL, right?), I wouldnt have wasted so much time and effort!

Next time I'll know; if I ever doubt the quality of an Apple product I'm holding in my hands, while staring at a glaring defect, all I have to do is remember the sage words of the guy with the totally neutral unbiased screen name...

Something amazing.

I got one iPad, and it's outstanding.

Apple's return policy is obnoxiously lenient and easy to abuse.

Someone comes back 3 times they should get a refund and be sent on their merry way.
