Haha, they are never going to win with people like you... Or 2/3 of the whiners on here:

"THEY REFRESH TOO MUCH"
"THEY DON'T REFRESH ENOUGH"
"THEY DON'T REFRESH CONSISTENTLY"

#firstworldproblems

Nah, I am not the problem as I am not Apple's target.
I keep my Macbooks until they die, or close. I might be in the market for a Macbook next year or in 2019.

Or maybe do 14" & 16" to go along with the 12" rMB or make the rMB 11" or 13" and do 13" 15" & 17" MBPs. For me, it makes sense to make the difference in screen sizes the same across the board.

Yay for updated MBPs, but where's an updated everything else? If the CPUs aren't ready, at least update the rest of the Mac line to TB3, newer/better GPUs, get rid of fusion/spinning drives and go flash-only.
They ARE updating the rest of the line, now that Intel has released the CPUs that make sense to do that.

You mean you want Apple to make a good computer?

Not going to happen.
They already make a good computer. You just don't want to see it.

Usually when someone insults & corrects a spelling mistake I don't reply for a number of reasons but in this case all I'll say is that I haven't left Apple, Apple left me. By underspec-ing their machines, their psychotic obsession with thinness, gimmicky "features" like the touch bar, mediocre software, complete abandonment of professional software and hardware etc. Apple is losing its pro customers by the day and it's clear that Apple doesn't give a ****.
It's sad how someone would tell you to leave Apple and move over to windows and end the paragraph with a emoji smile. These type of people don't understand your situation or anyone else's.

Absolutely delighted with these rumored specs. Great news! :) The biggest surprise for me is such a fast return to Intel Graphics which I wasn't expecting. I feel a little bit sorry for AMD though if this speculation is accurate. AMD "stepped-up to the mark" (for the Q4 2016 rMBP 15" with TB) with their discreet graphics card. :(

I do hope Apple will make the most of this MacBook Pro refresh by addressing some of the other much-aired issues within their control such as Battery life and also include the new APFS File system by Q4 of this year. ;)

and i'm still struggling to to find something i actually need to do that my IvyBridge processor cannot handle. My heart wants a new Macbook but my head says there is absolutely nothing wrong with my 2012 Air or 2013 Macbook Pro i have.

Maybe i will be able to justify a KabyLake Macbook Pro.....

Not really.....
You could say that before, but the competition has improved while Apple have increased their prices. However with the price reduction this year and great improvements, I think it will be true by the end of this year.
Are you implying that Apple HASN'T improved the 2016 MBP over the 2015?

If so, you need to do some more research.

I went from a 2013 to the 2016 MacBook Pro, and I'm getting twice the battery life on a machine that weighs a third less. The screen is much brighter with better colors. And although I went from a 2.7 I7 with 16GB to a 2.0 I5 with 8GB, there is no discernible difference in real world performance. Even multicore operations such as compiling Xcode projects take only a few seconds longer. By downsizing on specs, the cost difference was nominal after selling my old MacBook (without sacrificing much in the way of real world performance).

It is definitely a marked improvement over a 2013 model, and well worth the upgrade. People who say otherwise are uninformed, have never used the new MacBooks, and rely purely on benchmarks and technical specs that have no bearing on how a product actually works in a user's hands.

Great news - although I'm sure someone will complain they just bought a new one.

Apple really can't win here. Don't refresh enough - complain. Refresh yearly - complain.

To be fair they used to have a twice a year upgrade cycle that kept the machines at industry standard top spec. I think the complaint now is you neither get consistent upgrades or top specs when they do upgrade. They are consistent behind the bell curve. I used to upgrade every 1.5 years on average. I havent upgraded in 4 years simply because they havent offered any significant advancement in that time.

Yes. When it comes to references there's none more innovative than Cook's Apple. But would Tim run the US as 'effectively' as he does Steve's old business? A pointless question. It would be like comparing Apples to oranges! o_O

It's weird that other manufacturers don't have this problem.

Dell already released XPS with Kaby Lake

Yes, one with Intel HD Graphics. Do you want to sacrifice 50% graphics power for a marginal increment in CPU power?
Intel didn't release Kaby Lake chips with Intel Iris Pro at the time of this year's refresh

This is what happens when you're at the mercy of Intel.

Imagine if they created their own chips for Macs? Then you'd get your updates (at least once a year).
I'm pretty sure they are thinking about exactly that...

Yes. DUAL Core, with NON-LOW-POWER RAM.

Perfect choices for a LAPTOP (rolls eyes)

The only needed update is a decent keyboard.
Hmmm. The reviews I've read have actually LIKED the new keyboard, esp. compared with the previous version.

It's the same GPU version Apple uses (HD530 vs HD630), the 2016 models don't use Iris Pro.

Apple hasn't increased the prices on the 15" model. They only removed the entry-level iGPU-only model. The cheapest 2015 15" MBP with dGPU had a 2.5 GHz processor & 256 GB SSD and was sold for $2500. The cheapest 2016 15" MBP with dGPU has a 2.6 GHz processor & 256 GB SSD and is sold for $2400. Upgrades to 512 GB cost $200 with both the 2015 and 2016 models. Upgrades to the fastest CPU cost $200 in the 2015 (dGPU) model, and $300 in the 2016 (dGPU) model, equalising the $100 in the base price.
