My company just dropped all of their Blackberries and AT&T for Droid Erises and Verizon.
For people in the Enterprise worlds this is huge.
In other news Froyo is now available for EVO owners!
Apple has always been pushed to do better,
regardless of competition.
take a look back at all the previous products!
Apple has NEVER been the trendsetter in technology!
I just saw that - if SAMSUNG updates the Captivate to 2.2 ill give android a try
Actually, no, the first all touchscreen smartphone would be the LG Prada. It beat the iPhone by a couple months.
nope...
HP had a phone touchscreen device running Windows CE back in 1999

Some one who does not understand hardware keyboards at all.
While the res is kind of low the OS from waht I have seen is pretty promising and still holds true to the core of the OS.
As for the hardware keyboards RIM blackberry are the the gold standard when it comes to them. Touch screen keyboards have a lot of draw backs. One is ZERO tactile feel so you more need to look at the when typing on it. Also when the keyboard is in used on a touch screen it eats up a LOT of screen space to be used. The slider hardware gives the advantage of keeping all the screen space and still having a keyboard.
Come on you are all a smart bunch of people. You do realize that RIM is not in the same market as the iPhone and Android. They are geared more towards enterprises who utilize BES.
well gee - if you take some of the posters in here seriously you'd say that the blackberry isn't a competitor
Are you suggesting that ATT ONLY carry iPhones? That would be ridiculous.
You obviously have not seen one for yourself. The difference is huge. Screen resolution makes a huge difference; it's not about being nicer. I can read webpages without zooming in, and my email looks better than it does on a computer.
BlackBerry: Still trying to stay relevant
Why? What does this offer that any other smartphone or OS couldn't? A physical keyboard? Because that alone isn't a good enough reason. It's the same crappy hardware and setup that hasn't changed in over a decade.
Is it similar to the iP4's camera? I didnt see anything about having one of the better sensors, just that it was 5mp.
Anyone have any details?
I'm not normally one to go picking at the opinions of others when it comes to matters that are usually subjective. However this is just inaccurate. Steve may lay the hype on thick when it comes to new products, but when it comes to the display on the i4 he was dead straight.
I went from perfectly satisfied with the 3GS screen to wondering how I lived without the i4 display in a matter of seconds. Reading books, browsing, watching movies, etc... is almost like a different experience now.
It offer IT policy control and security. iOS and Android are a job compared to the amount of control a BES admin has over the phone connected to their BES.
BES offers a HUGE amount of centralized control over the phones on their network. You also have a better push email system. and as a pure communication device the Blackberry OS is just better.
people who read books on smartphone screens truly are *special*.![]()
