It would be nice if anything would come to Oregon....sheesh

There was some stock I saw at Washington Square, Sprints at Pioneer, and ATT/Verizons at Bridgeport. The Verizons seemed to go fast. I got a 64 Black ATT, using the return and resell as device only trick. It's not a bad way to grab an unlocked phone from retail if you are OK with any credit check hit.

You do have to check pretty regularly though, I think they went out of stock within 30 mins.

Gross Gray & Silver AT&T available in SW Florida at 0230ET.In fact,Gray is available all over Florida.

----------

Nope-not anywhere yet.Gross Gray all over Florida & Silver here and there. AT&T.

Did any gold come up?

There was an abundant of Silver AT&T 32GBs yesterday. There still are some available at Galleria!

How would I go about if I wanted to change the capacity of my phone? Could I just purchase it on another line, and swap both and exchange the other? Say. On Line A, I purchased 16gb iPhone. I want 32gb now so I'm thinking of purchasing it for Line B. Can I swap both iPhones so line A will have 32gb, and return the 16gb iPhone and restore line B's eligibility? (Sounds complicated, thanks for trying to help)

I would like to know about this as well. Sounds very complicated though.

I know some folks here had bad experiences with trying to obtain a reserved phone from Best Buy but I unexpectedly lucked out with them yesterday. I had been in a store last week looking for the elusive gold 32gb verizon phone. They didn't have any but said they'd take a reservation and call me. I had nothing to lose so I gave them my name. While frantically refreshing the apple store yesterday hoping for something to come available I got an email from them saying they had my phone. I didn't fully believe it until I got at the store and saw it (the guy had to double check when I said what I was there for because he didn't believe it either). They had two of them, each shrink wrapped with the reserved customers name on them.

I like to think the apple store stock will open up soon but there's no obligation with the Best Buy reservation so you've got nothing to lose if you're looking for a gold phone and having a hard time finding one.

thanks for posting that web site. I settled for a phone on launch day, but when I used that site a few minutes ago they had the exact gold phone I wanted at my exact usual store (it's gone now). I wasn't going to, but I've now decided to return my nongold phone and see what happens. I didn't want to do the whole add a line (might mess up my existing plan) or buy a new line (seems like trouble and some folks here report not being able to do an exchange once at the store). If I had returned the phone as soon as I had begun having doubts, I'd have a reserved/pickup gold now.

lesson learned, never settle while in the launch line (first time I'd ever had to settle). Problem is, the new phone uses a different SIM card size from my existing old phones, and I now need to get a new SIM card to tide me over (would be a huge fail if ATT tried to get me for 2 or 3 activation fees for this phone upgrade!).

Just a quick questions, hopefully someone can answer it.

I have noticed that at a certain time in the day, phones are available all over. Getting one in store pickup would be a lot faster than waiting for my 7-10 business days to switch from "processing" to "Shipped".

I, however, cannot just simply cancel my order online. For whatever reason, I have to call an apple Rep over the phone and get the order canceled. At which point, it may take some time before the phone number registers that it is eligible for upgrade.

Any one have any idea how long that would take? Around 2 PM EST phones start showing up on the apple website for my area (S. Florida).

Is it worth losing my "spot" in the shipping queue and hunt one down via in store pickup?

Any advice is appreciated. Thanks to all.

I would say yes. I did the same thing yesterday and my upgrade was restored within 10 minutes. However you could call your carrier directly after to get it restored even quicker if needed.

Did you get your phone yesterday as well?

I did the same thing and my upgrade was restored within 5 minutes, tops (I know, because I was frantically trying to get a silver 64GB in Tampa, which of course disappeared just as the upgrade was restored and I was able to get through to checkout. ). But really, it takes no time at all.

And thanks for he heads up on the time phones became available near you! I was trying ca 3 pm and found nada. I'm so desperate to get rid of my 5 with its rapidly dying battery that a trip to south FL does not seem unreasonable. Ay.

S. Florida is wonderful this time of year... 100% humidity with a chance of rain all day every day and temp between 80-95... lol

But worth it for an iPhone.

Yes. Over the past two days I have noticed that right around 2PM (EST) phones start showing up. It's consistently taken place 2 days in a row....enough to cause me to hope lol

My upgrade came back within 3 minutes after canceling an apple online order (checked vzw.com and it was intact).

The online reservation system is spot on.

I'm at the Michigan ave store in Chicago right now. The line is very short. I just got my ticket. The lady asked me which phone I want. She told me the availability of the iPhone 5S and it match EXACTLY what the website was showing.

I got the card for 32 GB Silver from Verizon, which is exactly what I wanted. Not a fan of gold, so I can't quite grasp the hype. Looks sort of ghetto to me.

Anyway, I'm just confirming that system availability is exactly what they have in stock for walkins.

Also, another myth to put down is that you can't buy at full price. You most definitely can. She even asked me if I'm renewing my contract or paying full price. I said full price, even though I am eligible for an upgrade.

do the in store pickup option for the model you want. Pay full retail. When you get there tell them you did that just to hold the phone, they will return it and then reprocess it as an exchange for you. You will still have to be in an in store pickup line but this is the most efficient way.

Has anyone tried this?

Here's my ticket...

Too bad I didn't want a SG ATT 16gb...they're virtually everywhere now!

That is true. They had every capacity available here for SG for Verizon. And not a single person in line wanted SG lol

Everybody wants either Au or Ag.
