RESERVE online PICKUP IN Apple STORE currently live and working

Can I please get a chorus of "hallelujah" going in the background of this post? :D

FINALLY got an order in for a 64GB gold. Wanted silver, but got sniped out of it yet again during the order process when my iPad opted to scratch its ass instead of going through the order, but anyway. The gold was my first choice, and it will grow on me, I'm sure. At any rate, I can finally get rid of my 5, whose battery is on its last legs. So happy day!!


Edit: if any of my fellow Floridians are looking for gold, Wellington Green apparently still has 64a available.

I'm at the Michigan ave store in Chicago right now. The line is very short. I just got my ticket. The lady asked me which phone I want. She told me the availability of the iPhone 5S and it match EXACTLY what the website was showing.

I got the card for 32 GB Silver from Verizon, which is exactly what I wanted. Not a fan of gold, so I can't quite grasp the hype. Looks sort of ghetto to me.

Anyway, I'm just confirming that system availability is exactly what they have in stock for walkins.

Also, another myth to put down is that you can't buy at full price. You most definitely can. She even asked me if I'm renewing my contract or paying full price. I said full price, even though I am eligible for an upgrade.

When you reserved online, did you go through the steps to upgrade and then once at the store you said full price device only?

Congrats! I am also in Sacramento. Picked up my AT&T 32GB Silver in Roseville last night. Decided waiting for my "October" order to ship would drive me insane. LOL.

That site worked fantastically today and I managed to get a gold 5s ATT 16gb for my wife at Lenox in Atlanta.

The site showed out of stock immediately after completing the purchase. I'd say it's eerily accurate.

Since the stores are handing out cards to people in line, I'd expect the divided inventory. Otherwise they'd end up with really pissed off people coming to the front of the line to find out their card was no good.

Many Gold ATT 32GB showed up in Apple Stores close to my location but I have already reserved one at a place which is far away (45 mins drive).

I tried cancelling the order online (Cannot cancel), talked to support but no benefit.

Anyway...will drive there.

BTW: Many Golds in So Cal area now... :)
 
I have my phone already but wanted too see how real time this is and been watching silver in Phoenix since early this morning. Most stores had them in stock around 3 am. Yea I don't sleep well but anyway at around 7 most we're gone than just checking right now I see back in stock here at about 3:15 in afternoon . It seems they update each delivery coming into the stores .

Frankly after launch day and us crazy campers ( I'm one of them ) than this is the best system in place after launch. Its fair to the customers, it's easier on the store with traffic and certainly easier on Apple staff. The choice should be deliver it like we have or pick up if in stock at a store and you buy it online like they are doing. Non of this camping out after launch day should exist. Make it clear on the Apple website right at the announcements of release. Non of this guessing crap. To me its the smartest way to get phones in people's hands with minimal effort.
 
Interesting... there's Gold 64gb Verizon at Crabtree Valley Mall, but no AT&T.

It's all so random.

I think everyone has 16gb Space Grey.

Hey guys just a heads up, I called my mobile store and they just got stock on all grey models in all sizes. This is the tmobile store in federal way by bright now dental by costco
 
So i noticed there was a gold iphone 5s 64gb local to me within an hour. I was ready to cancel my online order and then make the reservation for the other one. I call the store to confirm they actually have it and the lady is a complete idiot. She acts like she cannot walk 50' to go confirm whether or not they actually have it. In the end i spent about 10 minutes on the phone with her and by the time we were done the phone disapeared off the website.

Anyway...

How long from after i cancel my online order would i be able to place a new order for in store pickup? Will it be immediate?
 
A Sprint gold 5s seems to be the rarest of phones. So what is with that Fashion Valley Mall in San Diego constantly getting Sprint Gold inventory? I've seen their online pickup sell out and then restock 4 times already while no other SoCal stores have gotten any Sprint Gold in.

ive been checking non stop and nothing showed around that time..SD area. Man i am going crazy tracking one of these for AT&T :eek::mad:

Boy...I am so stupid and wasted time and energy...

SO...

I called Apple store and cancelled the pickup. After that my online order showed cancelled but did not restore the eligibility and then after called ATT.

ATT restored the eligibility but in this whole process I wasted 1 hr and now all inventory that was available for Gold phone locally (or even remote) gone!!!

The inventory tracker rocks!!! I just picked up a couple more Verizon 5s device only phones in GOLD. woohoo!!!!

Similar situation for me today. Drove across town after finding a Gold one but they wouldn't let me buy full price without activation. The problem is it was for the wife and I can't just kill her phone line in the middle of the day so they said they can't sell it. I asked if i can pay now and bring it back with the wife, Make a preorder that should hold it for 3 days or pay now and leave it at customer pickup. They said No, no no. I have to activate now or it goes back on the shelf.

So I left empty handed. It seems silly to force activation for a full price phone but I guess thats why people buy at the Apple store. So I'm back to gambling and hoping Apple actually restocks our city with some Gold.

Not everyone woman uses a phone to check her makeup, post selfies and text recipes. She's an important person in her company and uses her phone for actual work. So, no. :D

Are you actually using these Gold 5S or reselling them on eBay/CL? Beyond launch day, the margins for reselling 5S Golds is getting real slim.

IMO, a fair reselling scenario is for those of us who did the launch day wait (Friday, Sept 20) and decided to forgo using a Gold 5S to resell that same day (Sept 20). I forwent using a Gold 5S 64GB AT&T to test the eBay market and someone bought mine launch day night for $2300 (delivered confirmed address, positive feedback).

However, it sucked for a week not having an LTE phone upgrade to my 4S. But this inventory checker really works great so keep trying it throughout the day. Around dinner time, I found a Gold 64GB in Virginia while driving and placing the order within 5 minutes.
