Personally, I wouldn't risk just seeing it online and then heading to the store in the hope of getting it, 'cause odds are it'll be gone before you even have a chance to grab your car keys.
And for what it's worth, it took 14 minutes from the time my order went through to the time I got the "we're ready for you" email yesterday afternoon. They're pretty quick.No. Contract only.

same here. How fast should we click..? I set up the express checkout but by the time I click the last button, it's always gone. I missed 3 times so far. Is there any other way to checkout faster? or other people in my region are too fast? It's literally gone in 5 seconds I think,,,

Someone around Cherry Hill, NJ, who wants a gold 64gb for Verizon may be very happy on Saturday. I found a model yesterday available there and bought it around 2:50pm but I'm not dead set on it yet. I'm about 2 hours away from the store so I have to wait until I'm off Saturday but may cancel on Saturday morning if I still have doubts.
The woman at the store I talked to made it seem like they would actually start physically selling the phones at 8 when the store opened for appointments/one-to-one sessions...no mention of waiting until the store officially opened. Can anyone clarify?
Do you have it in your cart? That's how I got mine, just a few clicks and you're done. It doesn't have to recheck upgrade eligibility and all that!

I saw one or two gold show up in the online search yesterday in our area. Glad you got one, that's really cool. I know when I went to the store they were still handing out cards at 6PM and they were put in a line. I think it just depends on the store.
This depends on the store. And the amount of stock on hand. One of my local stores had some on hand one day when I walked in at lunch. Only Verizon 64G, but there was no line. (And no requirement to go online.)
Picked up my 32gb silver for Verizon there on Wednesday. We'll Tuesday midnight. Ordered online. Just walked in had id and order number. And took no less then 15 min only took that long Cuz of a little line. Also when I ordered less the. 30 min later it was ready for pick up.

If you buy it in a TMobile store it's locked to their network. Buy it from Apple.
And if the store doesn't have any in until later? How does that work?

I don't think the purchase only online rule is in affect anymore. Talked to my apple store a day after they started it and said it was no longer the only waney you could get the phone. Also I was at apple last night exchanging my case, and they were selling them to customers walking in.No. Contract only.
