That chrome extension is horrible. It alerts even if the ads refresh which is very annoying. So it will keep alerting you every 5-10 seconds lol

Alright, here is how to do this.

1. Install page monitor (https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/page-monitor/pemhgklkefakciniebenbfclihhmmfcd?hl=en)
2. Go to iphone checking page (http://iphone-check.herokuapp.com/) --> enter your zip --> submit
3. Select the page monitor button and then choose "monitor this page"
4. Right click the page monitor button --> go to options
5. Find the page you are monitoring and check off "advanced"
6. Change the check interval to 10-30 seconds
7. Select "custom mode" and it should be set to "selector" by default
8. Select the "pick" button --> this will bring you to the page you are monitoring
9. Hover over the table with your mouse and you will see that it will start outlining the section that it is monitoring. Move the mouse in a way that it selects the entire table.
10. Press done. This will make it only monitor changes within the table and not ads changing.

Maybe this is an obvious question but: if I want a device-only Verizon device, can I not use the reserve online feature?

I don't want to sign a contract (plan to use a GSM MVNO) but it looks like you need to provide account info to grab online?

I wanted to share my story about getting 5S 64GB in Gold.

9/20 - 5S Launch Day
Wakeup 2:50am - refresh Apple Store online until 3:01am EST when 5S order page opens up.

3:08am, I successfully order 1 iPhone 5S Gold 32GB and 1 Gold 64GB (which will FINALLY deliver 10/7 and 10/8 - 2+ weeks after ordering 9/20).

3:30am - For my personal line, I didn't order online and took a chance going to lineup at an Apple Store in the mall. Arrived with my friend at 20+ position in line.

7:00am - Apple store employee comes around and announces "There are only 11 iPhone 5S in Gold". WTF. All tickets for Gold 5S get claimed.

8:00am - #5 and #6 guy in line swing by and try to sell (scalp) their reserve tickets for 64GB Gold 5S. I engage in a bidding war with some girls and buy 1 ticket for $250. Purchase the Gold 5S off contract/device only and realize it cost $1150 for me to acquire this phone.

10:00am - decide to sell the 64GB Gold 5S and list it on eBay.

6:00pm - Paypal notification - Someone did buy-it-now for my 5S Gold for $2000+. Confirmed address and %100 positive feedback.

9/21 ship out 5S Gold

Following Week - realize it sucks with no 5S - still using 2 year old 4S.

10/1 - checking Apple website every 30 minutes at work for personal pickup 5S at 3 different zip codes. Nothing. Leave work 6pm.

6:30pm - Driving on highway - not many cars, check website inventory... YES!!$#$@ - 64GB Gold "Available Today" at ONE location. Place order on tiny-ass 4S screen in 5 minutes.

6:40pm - Pickup Ready Confirmation.

7:30pm - Arrive at crowded Apple store and put name with iPad concierge. Waited 25 minutes on queue just to pickup my 5S. All is good.

Anyway, does anyone know how a color swap affects a contract if you do it at the same store? I also have a Gold iPhone preorder at Best Buy so I dont know if swapping them later turns into a big carrier mess. (BTW. I dont plan on doing this since it seems jerky to "borrow" a Silver when they're so in demand. But BB did say they resell the returns as open-box so you could say I'm saving someone money...)

If you buy a silver from Best Buy for one line, and you have a preorder for gold on another line, just return the silver, let them activate the gold and swap the SIM cards. They have probably done it many times.

This might seem like a stupid question but is there any way to still hunt for an in-store pickup without canceling the online order that I already have placed?

Basically, I'm just nervous about not being able to grab an in-store pickup and having to go to the back of the line so to speak by placing another online order.

There haven't been many, but I saw a few on Tuesday (10/1) - a 16GB Gold AT&T and a 32GB Silver AT&T at Roseville. I bought the Silver. And, I also saw a 64GB Gold AT&T in Modesto. They just seem to go very quickly. :-/

I've almost given up on this process (but I'm sure I'll still keep trying). Yesterday and this morning, I have managed to find a phone I want, put it in my cart, confirm payment info, and review the order. When I place the order, the screen refreshes and I have to click "place order now" again. After the second click, the screen refreshes again and the phone now shows unavailable for pickup. It may be that the phones are just getting taken from me, but it's happened 6 times from the same store location. I just can't figure out why it's refreshing twice instead of accepting the order--I've ordered other items with the payment information they have saved, so I know it's correct. I don't currently have an iPhone so I can't order it from my phone and I'm stuck with the website process. Anyone having similar issues?

I've been searching mainly the LA area, but decided to try San Diego as well, since I had heard people were finding phones there. The Fashion Valley location has shown availability for a 64GB phone for Sprint, usually Space Grey but maybe Silver also (I don't care about the color but I do want 64GB). I'm not sure if it makes me feel better or worse to know I'm not alone. I guess that it's not a problem with the info we're entering, if it's happening to several of us. It must be either a website glitch or people getting to the phones ahead of us. Back to refreshing the site I go...
