I'm about ready to give up trying to buy this way, I'm wasting to much of my time checking the site, I havent seen a single 64 gb of any color show in my location. I'm going to order online and I'll get it when i do.

Now watch them start showing up locally as soon as i buy it online.

Same problem here with the website indicating it is in stock and seconds in the buy flow it disappears.

Insult to injury I went to an apple store this morning told what I wanted (64GB Gray AT&T) it was in stock by employee. Waited thirty minutes and was told "I'm sorry, I was wrong we don't have it."

I've never worked so hard to give a company my money.

I 100% sure that they have a problem with their website. this cant happen this many times. it becomes unavailable as soon as I place my order...!!!

I've almost given up on this process (but I'm sure I'll still keep trying). Yesterday and this morning, I have managed to find a phone I want, put it in my cart, confirm payment info, and review the order. When I place the order, the screen refreshes and I have to click "place order now" again. After the second click, the screen refreshes again and the phone now shows unavailable for pickup. It may be that the phones are just getting taken from me, but it's happened 6 times from the same store location. I just can't figure out why it's refreshing twice instead of accepting the order--I've ordered other items with the payment information they have saved, so I know it's correct. I don't currently have an iPhone so I can't order it from my phone and I'm stuck with the website process. Anyone having similar issues?

The exact same thing has happened to me, but about 10-12 times. It has to be the most aggravating thing in the world. I'm seriously debating on whether I should order in online or wait. I've probably wasted at least 5 hours just refreshing my screen over the past week... Does anyone know how quickly the AT&T Silver 16GB 5s's are shipping from online orders?

...something seems fishy about this whole online reservation system. I've physically been in a store, told there was inventory - but not on a phone I wanted. Then I would search for that sku the apple employee JUST said was in store and it did not show up. So that makes me think that if you want the "truth" you need to be in store. Who knows.

Also I got the standard line "...we get delivers six days a week..." and they will not answer typically when those deliveries arrive. I realize there is no way to tell, but Fed-Ex and UPS generally show up about the same time every day. Just tell me... morning or afternoon!

I called another store and was told "...we get deliveries six days a week..." I asked if today's delivery (Saturday) has showed up and they said they do get deliveries on weekends. o_O What a tick... are there eight days a week in the world of Apple? :)

I think Apple is selling phones to customers in the store first who are lucky enough to be there when they arrive. Then later if they haven't sold they put them online. Mostly 16GB gray. I'm probably wrong... just sour grapes.

Ya... I have a feeling they are selling to those early morning stand in line people or the employees are hoarding the "in demand" one for themselves or friends....

You're probably right. I look at the online Apple stock tool and I've been looking at the area from Miami, FL to Augusta GA. Only 2 16gb grey phones (ATT) show up. I can't believe that no deliveries were made to any of these Apple stores today. If they were, they ARE selling them when they arrive and not making them available online.

I think you all are right. I called a couple of hours ago and asked one of the employees if they had gotten any shipments in today and he didn't even answer my question. He stuttered a little bit and responded with, "We get random shipments in every day." I seriously think they're buying the phones themselves or selling them to the people in the stores. :mad:

I've already given up and ordered my 16GB Gold AT&T iPhone 5s online. I'm done.

I already have my phone but tested it and it does work.

I doubt it will take 24 hours. Originally, I had an online order and then cancelled to try my luck in the store. My eligibility was back in about 15 minutes.

Ya, it won't take that long.

I don't know what area u r from, but in so California . Those grey come up often, often that you will have many store to choose from if you make a mistake and cancel, you still have time to re-place your order.

I have literally seen soo many grey available that it is in stock for several several several hours, and I not even exaggerating. From 2 pm on to the following day they were in stock.

buy iPhone 5c unlocked from Apple Store at full price and return it later when your desired phone is available?

So this is the plan... (Only reason to do this is I have do not have any phone right now)..

1. Get 5c for full price (unlocked). This won't create any issues to your upgrade eligibility.
2. When 5s is available, order it online for store pick up and return 5c.

Any risk in this plan other than accidental damage to 5c etc and getting stuck with it?
 
Did the Los Angeles area not get any Gold today? I've been checking the iphone-check website all day and I haven't seen a single change to the website :confused:

ive been checking all day and no change from san diego to all the way up to beverly center.

And not just gold, seems like none of the models were updated today to show inventory change....maybe later on tonight or hopefully next week they do more updates

If you buy a silver from Best Buy for one line, and you have a preorder for gold on another line, just return the silver, let them activate the gold and swap the SIM cards. They have probably done it many times.

I'm on Sprint so changing phones requires a lot more hoops to jup through.

Anyway, I picked up my wifes Best Buy 5s Silver preorder so now we have two subsidized phones but it's going back because of BB and their crooked tax/pricing.

Apple Store (Nevada)
$30 - Sales Tax off subsidized price

Best Buy (Nevada)
$80 - Sales Tax off their inflated retail price of $800

Thats $50 more for no explainable reason so I'm going to use it and keep checking the Apple site only because I'd rather support Apple than Best Buy. (Plus, I like money.)

Bad day for online reservation in the San Francisco Bay Area...

I checked using the website previously mentioned, at least 6 times today. No gold or silver AT&T in the Bay Area. Not one. A few space gray 16GBs.

That's the law in some states, including California - but it doesn't explain why Apple doesn't charge it and BB does.
 
I feel like one day soon it's just going to be like "BOOM!" And there will be a ton of gold silver and grey available everywhere! I wish
 
If they do, they haven't happened yet. I'm in Florida and there are no devices in stock for most Apple Stores from Fl to Ga. It's 9:39 am on Sat here.

FWIW, a genius I spoke to at Altamonte near Orlando said that they don't get shipments on weekends. I don't know how true that is, but that's what he said. I had luck getting a 64GB gold at about 2 pm on Wednesday. It seemed that a lot of locations around the country got deliveries at about that time, so inventory was popping up all over the place (of course, it also disappears quickly, so you have to be on your game). I did end up having to drive to Wellington Green, which was about 2.5 hours away, but I figured it was worth it just to be DONE with all of this nonsense. :)
 
Gray 16g AT&T has been available every day in Estero @ Coconut Point & Naples at Waterside Shops.Was available until this afternoon also.Now only Augusta,Ga.
