Apple has a bunch of verizon gold's in NYC...
Tool showed no availability for GOLD in SE USA but I went to Apple app and was able to put 2 AT&T 16g GOLD in my cart from nearest Apple store in Estero,Fl. for p/u tomorrow.I canceled both for any one else needing one in SW Florida.So either the availability app doesn't update as fast as we think or maybe I should start buying lotto tickets due to my luck.

Watch for stock of T-Mobile. I've seen stock on and off today. Then order the T-Mobile version from the apple site for in store pick up.How to order device only?
Altamonge and Florida Mall, in Orlando, both have 16 gb gold verizon but I'm not brave enough to cancel my 21st order in order to restore the upgrade. Oh the dilemma =[
There are 2 places with Verizon phones, one place with ATT phones and one with Sprint phones. No place has Tmobile phones. I wouldn't exactly call that plentiful. Talking about Space Grey here.
If you're using the tracker to check, know that it's buggy. It keeps lighting up stores after they have no stock available, even hours after it's gone. I've been checking for a week using the tracker and the page monitoring tool and have encountered this after every update.

I used the tracker web page from 2:30pm onwards, every 10 minutes. 64GB Gold AT&T showed green at Hillsdale Apple in San Mateo. I hustled through the online reservation using the Apple.com website. It worked!
It's a one hour drive away so I'll pick it up in the morning...

I've seen space grey and other stock a few times today and confirmed it on the apple site. What time are you checking?
I should have been clearer-I canceled both of them,so both were available for someone else.
My gf and I ordered 2 16G gold on opening day. Unfortunately UPS misplaced hers so I gave her mine to activate. So the saga began last week to look for mine in the store. Along the way I wanted a 32G so I guess everything works out. I actually purchased a SG 32G last week but after a day I didn't like the black color so I returned it.
I just got home with my new 32g gold still with shrink wraps on and I'm very happy with that. I just couldn't believe how crowded the apple store was today at noon. I mean doesn't anyone have a job? I'm on vacation lol
I'm checking throughout the day, probably every hour or every 45 minutes. I've stopped for now though and am going to line up at the Apple store Ridge Hill at 8AM to see what they get. I spoke with a store rep and he said that they get stock every day but it gets sold to people waiting in line early in the AM. I was under the impression that only online orders would be allowed but apparently not.
Also, with regard to the guy commenting about the tracker being slow: I've all but concluded that the tracker sucks. It's slow to update and has erroneous updates every 10 minutes. Nearly useless.
WOW FINALLY!!!! Two gold 64 for AT&T showed up around 6:10. I place for fashion valley and it's sold out. So I quickly change to Chula Vista, otay ranch and success!!!!! OMG I've never worked so hard to get an apple product lol. Over a week of checking and finally it pays off!

Out of desperation to get away from Sprint and back on to AT&T, I picked up a 16GB 5S in silver last Tuesday, September 30th. Every day I've been checking stock of 32 and 64GB models, and nothing has come up, until today...
I see 32 GB gold models available in store, but I call the store and it's a mistake they say - because they sold out of their gold models hours ago.
I tell them about the inaccuracy of their tracker, and how it's still letting people order gold models, despite no availability - they didn't care. I also mention that if they had gold models, no one would have known, since the tracker didn't show them in stock until after 3pm. Again, they didn't care.
I only have one more week until I can't swap my phone. I'm going to have to call every hour to check availability, since the online tracker is so unreliable

Just picked up 2 gold 16 gb Verizon device only at Domain store in Austin.
Did an inventory check right when I got off work and made a beeline to the Apple store when I saw they were in stock.
Was a little hesitant since some people were getting denied buying an iPhone without first reserving online but I was able to. GL all!!!

I don't understand this.If you order any phone from the Apple Store for in-store pickup,they HAVE that phone.I have never heard of anyone ordering and being turned away in the time I have been here.
