RESERVE online PICKUP IN Apple STORE currently live and working

Southpoint is Durham Nc btw

----------

Verizon gold 64g in Cincinnati, OH , Easton, Keystone and South Hills Village

Made a Verizon account for in store pickup purchase. When I got to the store, I told the sales, I want to get the phone device only. He told me we had to go thru the purchase process and then return the phone so I can then purchase the phone as device only. While trying to go thru the purchase there were problem in completing it so I end up calling Apple.com and cancel the in store pickup order. They told me they can't sale me the phone now, since it will have to go back into the in store pickup pool, WTH. Sigh, so close!

Finally got one using the iPhone check site. Had to trek to New Jersey (only a 18 minute ride from The Bronx) but it was well worth it.

Picked up a Silver 16GB T-Mobile. Oh man - I am a die hard Nexus fan (had every Nexus phone, and still have my Nexus 4) and really did NOT think I'd care much about the 5s, but damn...this phone is easily worth the frustration to find one.

Good luck everyone. Seriously do NOT give up. This phone is really nice (even if iOS feels a bit behind.)

I ended up using it as my personal phone, and am going to use my Nexus 4 as my work phone. I had planned it the other way, but screw it - I instantly fell in love with my 5s.

For some odd reason, it's nicer at home than in showrooms. :D

Not in MI. The tracker literally has not shown one Gold AT&T model of any size in Michigan in the 13 days I've been watching it.

(This is excluding G-Rap, since that is west side and further away than some Ohio stores for me.)

Why does AAPL hate MI?

BonerSpaghetti OUT!

Its been impossible to hunt down a Space Gray one even. Every time I check supply levels for Woodland Mall (Grand Rapids), they have nothing. No colors on any carriers. Sucks.

Don't give up. I had hell trying to get one here in NYC - the frustration is worth it. I had 6 browsers open for ordering (triple monitor setup at work) with all 3 colors on the iphone check site on separate browsers refreshing automatically before I finally landed one.

My boss is going to be very happy that I am not taking late lunches at 2PM every day cursing at my computer screen...lol

I saw that one, it was up there for quite a while  , but travelling to New Jersey wasn't an option for me...

Ask for any of the 3. As long as you purchase full price "device only" all 3 will be unlocked.

I'm not sure about what time they start the line. A lot of scalpers go to 5th ave so go as early as possible.

Get a "device only" or "off contract" Verizon 5s. It will have all the radios working (CDMA, GSM, etc.). Will work with just about any carrier worldwide (except Sprint, but Sprint sucks so who cares).

The unlocked Verizon 5s is a true international phone. Swap in a nanoSIM, you are good to go. I bought one, currently using it with T-Mobile. Works perfect.

Verizon iPhone 5s, Model A1533: CDMA EV-DO Rev. A and Rev. B (800, 1700/2100, 1900, 2100 MHz); UMTS/HSPA+/DC-HSDPA (850, 900, 1700/2100, 1900, 2100 MHz); GSM/EDGE (850, 900, 1800, 1900 MHz); LTE (Bands 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 8, 13, 17, 19, 20, 25).

Avoid the Sprint phones at all costs, esp. model no. A1457. Sprint phones are sold locked. Sprint sucks. So do locked phones.

Is everybody finding that these online status checks are accurate?

Or would I be able to maybe head down to an apple store and still purchase one, even if the site says unavailable?

I'm just finding it hard to believe every model at every store here in MA is completely out, even with me checking several times a day... Especially with apple rolling out in more countries recently.

From my experience yesterday, it was more accurate than not.

At 9am the system showed no Verizon phones but I was offered a 16GB Grey.

So yeah, from what I saw you can purchase one even if the site's inventory reports none.

I was dumb and didn't bite earlier in the week because I did not want to drive an extra 10 minutes. Now supplies seem very limited.

Just snagged a Gold Verizon 64 at the Pittsburgh South Hill Village store as a walk-in. They have one more in stock.

The guy who helped me out was a boss. Let me keep all of the accessories of the old phone. Nice to have an extra set of earpods and a spare charger :)

Somewhat accurate-use it as a guideline.I was able to put 2 GOLD in cart last week and get to final step of express checkout and neither 5S showed on the checker.

Yeah - they actually had more T-Mobile in stock that they were selling for walk-in at the Garden State Plaza store I went to. Even had some Verizon models, and they were willing to sell at full price, device only. They just didn't have any 16GB models, and 64GB is a hair too expensive (especially after AppleCare.)

I have seen this question pop up a number of times in this thread and isn't always answered, so here is my experience:

The stores seem to allocate a certain amount of stock for "in-store pickup" and a certain amount for normal retail walk-in customers. These are two separate numbers, so the inventory checker is only accurate for those wanting to do order online/in-store pickup.

The actual retail store walk-in stock is not something that can be found out online, or even by calling the store in most cases, but rather only by walking into the retail store.

Example: I did an in-store pickup check for space gray AT&T phones while standing in an Apple Store that had them in stock, yet it returned a "not available" result. It wasn't that the tool was wrong, it was that the store had not allocated any for in-store pickup, or had already sold the number they had allocated.

tl;dr: In-store pickup and walk-in inventory are two separate numbers. Online checker tool only checks the buy online/pickup in-store inventory.

edit: I should also add that in my experience, the 11:00-11:15 AM PST time period early in the week (Mon. & Tues.) yields the highest stock levels (at least for AT&T versions). This may differ from place to place, but for my region (MN/WI/IL/MI), it certainly is the case: ~1:15 PM CST on Mondays has been quite the "gold-mine", heh.

the online inventory tool says that there hasn't been anything at GSP for days. i guess what people are saying about pick-up vs walk-in inventory is separate.

do you know if GSP has any 32g grey verizon iphones?
