I ordered mine on Monday (10/7) and have until this Sunday (10/13) to pick it up. You'll get an email two days after you ordered it informing you that you have until "x" date to pick it up.
 
Wanted a 64gb gold. Got in line to see if I could get lucky this morning at the Apple store in Pleasanton CA. They had nothing for AT&T.

Whatever, so I start to walk out of the mall when I pass the AT&T store. "You guys don't have any iPhones, right?" I asked. "We have a 64gb silver," they replied.

So I'm now the happy owner of a 64gb silver.
 
There have been gold iPhones available for the last few hours at a few of the South Florida stores, and they haven't disappeared, surprisingly! I tried going in to try my luck getting one device only as a walk-in, but had no luck, as I suspected.
 
Interesting how fast they disappear. Just saw several gold att here in Minnesota and then they were gone in minutes.

AT&T must have gotten a lot of silver stock. Two of my coworkers went to the AT&T store to get gold and grey iPhones and both came back with silver 64GBs.

I watched today and saw two large stock updates of Gold in all carriers. 2pm and 6pm. I think that is the best time to order for in store pickup.

A lot of gold 16 gb att have been available in my area most of the afternoon ... DC , MD , VA.... I just got my 64gb last week after returning my space grey... I wanted a 16gb but they only had 64 last week.. Oh well

You can return the 64GB for a 16GB since they now have stock.
 
Just snagged a 32 GB Gold AT&T from Richmond area.

How long after the order do people usually get a ready for pick up email?
Since its after hours, should I expect something in the morning?
 
Finally got my gold 16s. I reserved in store at best buy and arrived today. I traded in my iPhone 4S and left with an extra dollar in my pocket.
 
Score a T-Mobile gold today in Philly, Walnut street. It was like the only T-Mobile gold 64G within the 200 miles radius from where I live. Luckily it's only 1hr 15 mins drive for me......
 
Finally got a Gray 16GB TMobile (which was the only one left within my area), unfortunately I had to travel quite far to get it, but at least this ordeal is over :rolleyes:
 
Got my wife her 16GB Gold 5s today as it became available in one store within the state! Quickly drove down and picked it up. I'm the hero and the wife is happy! I canceled our order which was placed on 9/26 with apple.com and now we can move on with our lives... :)

Im just going to keep it.... I know apple is sick of me and my returns right now... Also had 3 apple cases that I liked on the space grey but not on the gold... I returned them also when I returned the space grey.. I'm just happy to finally have the gold
