So returning a product within the 30 day return period is now considered unethical? Am i missing something?

I think most people in this thread are assuming that people wanting to exchange had knowingly purchased the black model with the intention of exchanging later; wasting the device as a hold-over.
What difference does it make? They have 30 days (or so) to return the product, it's within their right.

Since many white iphone wanters went out and got the black one as a temporary phone they caused many others unable to be able to get an iphone at all upon release. Waiting a month to get the color you want wouldn't kill anyone. Some people are worse than kids when a new phone is released. Geez. Same goes for those who put in 2-3 orders from different retailers to get their phone then cancel orders to try to get their phone earlier. You guys are the reason why the iphone 4 launch was such a disaster. Sad.
lol at bringing up morality and ethics when talking about exchanging a phone....really? Get over yourself. And if you remember back to pre-orders the only information we had was "later this summer". That could have meant september and there was no way i was using a RAZR for that long.
I guess your moral lesson will come when you get a PayPal chargeback on that 3GS you just eBayed to Thailand cause the seller claims he never got it (which could be true, as it is just as likely that the local postal workers steal it). Or you find out that the PayPal payment was fraudulent.
Karma can be a b****. I mean if you want to do it go ahead, but to start a thread bragging about it and be upset at the response?
BTW, link to the eBay Thailand thread ...
Why not? And why didn't you have your iPhone still? I assume you sold it? Prematurely? How is that Apple's fault? Why make it Apple's fault now?
I'm no "fanboy" - but get over YOURself. Thanks for illustrating the entitlement and selfish point some of us have been making though. Well done!
P.s. I waited for the white iphone 4.... im like an iphone 4 virgin that waited till the wedding day instead of slutting it up with a black one first
I'm rethinking in the other direction. I was planning on trying to exchange my black for white (or trading with a friend) once they became available. I had white iPhone 3G and 3GS, and I loved them. But now that I've had this for two weeks, I'm thinking of keeping it. I think it looks slick.
Of course, once I see the white in person, I might change my mind again.![]()
