Review: InCase Snap - Clear for iPhone 4 (From Apple Case Program)

Is this the Smoke?

Can someone who has the SMOKE case confirm this looks like it or is this the clear. The guy selling on eBay says its the "clear smoked" version! :confused:

The back looks smoked but the sides look clear. I would ask the seller but it doesn't seem like he has a clue! :)

I just got my smoke InCase snap from Apple and it's that one. Smoke but see through. Not clear so it's a lil foggy but I LOVE it.

But the sides of the case in the pic look crystal clear - a picture of a smoke case on this thread earlier showed the sides to be black/smoked - how are the sides on your smoke? Thanks

They are smoke as well.. Take a look

Thanks for that. But this picture posted by edere a couple of days back of a smoke case looks like its almost black - so are you saying your case on the last post looks like this when on the phone? Just to me I cant see your smoke case making the silver sides look so black as in this pic (sorry if I'm annoying you!) :D

Whats the difference between the incase snapcase and the Marware Microshell besides the glare reduction ring?
 
I got this case through the Apple case program also.

I really like the case but it has a fatal flaw. Too damn slick and slippery. They should have put some silicon edges on it so that it was less likely it would go flying out of your hand when you pull it from your pocket, or go carooming off any place you put it if it gets bumped.

Back to using the bumper case. People can bag on it all they want to but at least it doesn't fly out of my hand without any effort.

Someone I know has the clear and it is real slippery, I have the smoke and it is made out of different material than the clear. The smoke has nice grip and is some sort of soft touch material.

Is the material on the Smoke similar to what they used for the slider case? If so, I'm definitely a fan of that.
 
Yeah it's soft touch (that's what they call I think). Kind of grippy yet soft and slides in and out of your pocket real easy.

also keep in mind that in that picture you posted.

the case is back side up. so you can't even really see the sides. may be confusing the packaging.
 
Thanks for the replies. I think I've finally decided on this case (Smoke) over the Pixelskin HD!

One last question before I place my free case order - has anyone had any problems with this case scratching the phone? I know there has been some reports of the slider scratching the i4 but not many with the snap

Nope, no scratching here and I go to the gym and work in a dirty environment too. :cool:
 
Just got my smoke case in the mail today and I love it! The matte finish is a really nice touch as it doesn't just look or feel like a cheap plastic case! The case also fits the phone perfectly (No back protector on).

Only complaint I have about the case is that on the inner part of the case, right around where the case hits the apple logo, there is a little raised up bubble. Probably a manufacturing problem, but it might end up scratching my phone :(

Other than that, great case!
 
Just got this case and like it. I have the clear. It leaves finger prints but overall a very nice feel and well made. I'm pleased I got it for free, although the "made in China" could have been placed somewhere else more discreet.
 
im still undecided

I want a thin case because i have the phone in my pockets all day but one with grip so it doesnt slide off my hands easy


whats the best choice for me out of all the free apple cases
 
Dude this thing is thin, slides in and out of pockets nicely (doesn't stick at all) but still has some texture for you to hold it nicely. I don't know of another way to get those points across. IMO for a minimalist case it's perfect.
 
I think I'm going to go with the smoke case, but am having trouble hitting submit! ;)

Did it leave any oil slick marks or raise the back piece at all when you tried to remove the case for cleaning ?... I just got my PS set in the mail today and tried it but I kept getting the oil slick marks on the back :(
 
I really like the design of this case, but really don't like the clear. Mine came with deep scratches all over it, and it shows fingerprints like crazy. On top of that, there's a rainbow-ish watermark on the Apple logo. I contacted Incase to see if I could swap it for the smoke, but I'm not sure if it's possible since I got it through the Apple program.
