Is the Oleophobic coating on this screen good at preventing finger prints? Is it comparable to the iPhone's Oleophobic coating? If it is...I don't understand why anyone would buy the Ultra Crystal Clear screens since most of the people here say the clarity is similar. I personally feel like an idiot for buying the Crystal Clear instead of the Oleophobic. The Crystal Clear is a finger print magnet.

The Oleophobic is also a fingerprint magnet. So much so that my husband removed his (I left it on, as I like the protection). I was wondering if the ultra clear would be better, but I guess not. It seems you can either have anti-fingerprint (and lost clarity) or great clarity and fingerprints :)

I don't really notice the fingerprints much when the phone is on, though.

The Oleophobic attracts fingerprints but in the bigger scheme of things, they're really easy to wipe off and like you said, when the phone is on you don't notice much and it's good protection.

I was also going to do a review on this product but it looks like you covered it well. I went ahead and installed the SGP Oleo-phobic screen guard on 4 phones and they all installed without a hitch. It was perfect and they look absolutley fantastic! They are perhaps the easiest to install out of all the screen guards i have used. Along with that they look amazing, yet they protect as well. The best part is that once the "grippy" texture is worn down (takes a few swipes) it is perfect. Cant even tell its there. Amazing stuff from SGP. They take the cake on this one.

I have the ex ultra clear and while it looks nice with colorful things on the screen, I can tell its there with a white background because it looks a little grainy or however you describe it, it just isn't super clear. Is the oleophobic different? I might just go without any protection on the front :\

It is really, really clear. To the point where you wonder if its even there....yes...that clear.

Has anyone had issues with the ultra-clear not sticking around the home button and speaker? I love the screen protector, but it's not sticking completely in those areas. I am thinking of applying the 2nd film, but I dont' want to make the same mistakes as the first film.

Any tips are appreciated!

Can anyone that know PhoneDevils skins compare the two (SGP Oleo vs PhoneDevils Crystal Clear edition).

I have a PhoneDevil on my 3GS and this is the BEST screen protector I ever used... So I dont know if I'll stick with them or try this oleophobic out.

Thanks

I also have the same issue too.

I ran into a problem with dust. I went to remove the the dust with the "dust removal stickers" on both films and this ended up inviting more dust onto the screen. I emailed customer support about possibly getting replacements and ignoring the "dust stickers".

I hope they will replace them but does anyone have any suggestions on removing dust if not?

Same here, it's not sticking around home button and speaker

I'd say for anyone interested on buying them: wait for Powersupport!

Try a wet install. Worked perfect for me and a couple others. Read this thread

Totally agree about the wet install being the way to go - it's a little messy but it's much easier and more forgiving.

SGP has to get rid of the home button and ear piece covers though. All they do is get in the way and cause problems. I realize they are perforated already so they can be removed, but they should remove them for us before they send them out. There should be clean cutouts there, not perforated ones that need to be punched out.

So if I buy from an ebay reseller how does the warranty work if I have problems?

I would rather order from ebay because it is free shipping. But I want to be able to return it if I have issues.

Anyone have coupon codes for SGP?

What ebay reseller have people been using?

Thanks! :)

My order came in last week and had the same issue, sent SGP an email with photos of the area where it's not sticking, still waiting for reply. Its been a few days already and yet no reply yet.

I bought my screens from this seller and haven't had any problems whatsoever:

SGP screen protector has a cut out for front facing camera?

in their site it does not have a cut out!

any one could help?

It doesn't have a cut out for the front-facing camera, but even with the film, you won't even notice in the pictures that there was a film placed on top of the camera. I'm still waiting for my package to arrive and my friend has this film on his iPhone 4 and that's how it led me to buy this film.

Just got my olephoebic screen ... ruined both the ones they sent trying to put it on ... the home button and earpiece have perforations and need to be taken out first but the instructions did not say this so once the screen is on it just ruins it by trying to slide it out ... emailed sgp to see if they'll send me a refund as this looks awful now.

The perforated cutouts are ridiculous - I don't know what they're thinking leaving those in there. If you get replacements do a wet install. Peel the adhesive side backing off first and spray it with solution. Then peel off the other protective layer and poke the perforated pieces out from the front so they just fall out (don't touch the wet side with your fingers unless they're really wet with solution or you're wearing non-powdered latex gloves). Then wet the underside again for good measure and install - that's the way to go.

You didn't think to use tape over the top to remove it instead of trying to slide it out?

Couldnt use tape as there were 2 cutouts ... one for the top sheet and one for the one that actually stays attached to the phone ...

psywzrd: thanks for the tips .. that exactly the instructions they should have included in the package ... actually its worse because on the back of the package it says to remove the top protective layer first than remove the bottom slowly as you slide it onto the phone ... but the tags on the layers say to remove the one that attaches to the phone first ...
