That is awesomeThats awesome! Thank you very much, I will print that out and take it with me. If a Nova Scotia'ner can have it so should an Ontarionian...
You guys have 2 911 charges though?! That is moronic...
That is awesomeI wonder how they justify that?
I think the only thing you can be sure of is that it is not confirmed in anyway. You will get different answers from different Rogers and Fido reps.Is it even 100% set in stone that you can add on the 30$/6GB to ANY voice plan if you're a new customer?
Also, will it be the $15 value pack or the $11 one that we can add?
So confusing! Common Robbers, fix this up!
Agreed. Knowing this company, I wouldn't even be surprised if you HAD to get the original iPhone plans they announced then you have the OPTION of adding on a $30/6GB to that! could you imagine the travesty!I think the only thing you can be sure of is that it is not confirmed in anyway. You will get different answers from different Rogers and Fido reps.
Just talked to someone at Rogers. I wanted to confirm that a data plan wasn't mandatory and the lady said "It will be for the first few weeks since the phone is in such high demand".
I'm getting a data plan but my sister doesn't want/need one, talk about BS.
What's the breakdown on the $548?
Lmao. This is terrible. What a mess. Literally every rep is just saying what they "think"- - nothing official from nobody.
What a lousy company. Rogers fails.

So, it sounds like I will unfortunately be just as well off to eat the $200 cancellation fee to cancel my current contract and then buy an iphone as a new contract. The Fido rep said I would then be entitled to the advertised prices of $199 or $299. This would make the 16GB model $499, but I have $100 in fidodollars to apply against it, so it would be $399. (I assume the activation fee will apply across the board).$450 for phone + 35 activation fee + $63.05 Tax = 548.05 - 50 mail in rebate = $500
but i still will be paying 550 in store, and i have been with rogers for 2 year, then extented my contract for another 2 years without getting a phone. so basicly if you are not a old customer with rogers, you will have to pay alot of money just to get the iphone
hahaha, i called them 4 times, and went to a rep. all had different thigns to day, but most agreed that i didnt had to get a data plan, but they highly recommended it
ROBBERS said:Data Usage - Your iPhone will be enabled for data usage. If you subscribe to a plan with no data included, data charges at a pay-per-use rate of 5¢/KB for data sent and/or received over the Rogers network will apply, unless you subscribe to a data plan, which we highly recommend.
I think that is it exactly. They don't want to put anything in stone, because they want to be able to restrict the offers as much as possible, but don't want the bad PR to spoil the launch. better to let everyone think the are eligible and that the $30/6GB is available to every and all voice plans. Long lines will the be guaranteed. Media will be all over interviewing people walking out with an iPhone. You walk out empty handed, it isn't really a story.Yeah, seriously. Their having a tough time deciding how much they can screw the customers over for while still keeping Apple happy and minimize bad PR.

Dammit. Guess I will be waiting.
According to this they really don't have much in stock:
http://www.mobilemag.com/content/100/340/C15727/
Smaller stores only 5-15 phones!? And big ones only about 50? That will sell out immediately. I don't want to line up and waste my time when I find out there's none left.
I'll wait until the rush is over then pick one up, which should also give them time to sort out all the unanswered questions.
Not sure if anyone saw this:
http://www.rogers.com/web/content/wireless-products/iphone_voice_data_packages
'While the iPhone 3G Voice and Data Packages allow you to use this device to its fullest and offer savings over separate voice and data plans, they are not the only options available to you. Other pricing options are available. For example, you may choose to combine one of our new data plans ranging from $30 per month (for 300MB) to $100 per month (for 6GB) with a voice plan. Learn More. They are available by calling 1 888 ROGERS1 or by visiting your nearest Rogers retail location.'
Let's hope this is a typo.
Dude, that has been there long before the iPhone packages were announced.
Cheers,
D
Just called my local Rogers store. 117 iPhones for tomorrow. Weird number. Probably lying...
was probably like, 120 or something, but I'm sure 3 employees put 3 away for themselves.
