Why do renderings always have a disgusting amount of fingerprints, smears, grease and other gross things on it? We get, its a render and you want to make it look more "real", but I have never seen an ipad with that much gunk on the screen.

Yeah that's because you've never seen my father's iPad (it used to be white and silver).

He may be a well known designer and all, but boy, this is such a poor job.

He just enlarged everything, while the bezels will obviously be around the same size as the ipad/mini. A proper render would show a bigger screen in relation to bezels.

I'm confident the real thing will be a lot less ugly.

Great to see Apple embracing the stylus, if true

Provided this rumor is correct, it is about time that Apple shuns their hatred of the stylus and make it a first class feature.

First, a pro tablet requires handwriting capability, period. Sitting in a meeting and trying to type note on an onscreen keyboard is a fail. Having to drag a separate keyboard case or dock to type is also a fail (just get a laptop). Being able to jot quick notes on a tablet is needed for business.

Second, Apple has to get this right the first time because both Surface Pro and Galaxy Note products have several generations of stylus that have made them superlative features. Apple has to hit the nail on the head to make handwriting on an iPad as close to a match as writing with pen on paper. Personally I think Jobs dismissed the stylus because Apple couldn't make it work as close to pen and paper back in the day. Offering a lousy implementation is not acceptable considering how long it has taken Apple to embrace this feature.

Of course, this could all be a pipe dream from a fanboi wishing for a true stylus solution from Apple. Also this would almost be the only reason I would consider buying an iPad Pro because there is no need just for a larger iPad screen to make it a "pro" tablet.

I don't see why you couldn't have the support in all of them.

I would rather have it in the iPad Mini. Easier device to carry around in your hands.

Come on, you should know the game plan by now. Apple will release a brand new feature on the top end iPad and then trickle it down a year later to the smaller iPads.

Make the pen pressure sensitive so people can actually use the ipad to draw and you've got a WINNER

The stylus won't glow.

Hm. 12 inch iPad? 12 inch MacBook? Anyone wondering if Apple might do a laptop/tablet hybrid like the Surface? Starting to wonder, because the leaked MacBook photos only showed the 'screen'.

Seen this suggestion on every post relating to the iPad Pro and Retina MacBook Air.

Apple have already got a MacBook/iPad hybrid that they released a few years ago: the MacBook Air.

besides the bigness factor...i don't see a point. It needs to do something other then be a huge iPad for me to consider it. I do like the dare I say MS surface. Add in OS X, a cellular option and i'm sold.
Since buying an iPhone 6+ I haven't really used my iPad. The only time I could see using my iPad again is when I travel to watch a movie and I don't need 13" when viewing from my tray table when flying. A touchscreen portable mac would be much more useful.

iPad looks ridiculous with that bezel, total fail of mock up, it's a "mock-ery." The stylus looks decent. I'd like a stylus that works with my trackpad.

I sound like a broken record. But if apple doesn't enable this iPad pro to run Osx it is going to fail. The more I hear about this 12 inch iPad, the more I cringe.IOS is too limited in terms of getting real work done. They need to take notes from Microsoft. Surface pro 3 is a productive tablet done right.

I have serious doubts Apple will leverage OSX for the iPad Pro. Apple's obsession with ergonomics means that they'll be using iOS rather than trying to shoehorn OSX into a touch based environment.

This isn't necessarily a bad thing. There's absolutely nothing stopping iOS from eventually becoming as productive as any desktop OS besides Apple themselves. If they were to expand its capabilities, and add in a decent multitasking scheme, I wouldn't see any compelling reason to use Windows or OSX over it once the apps start arriving.

...assuming it's done well, of course.

Sometimes Only A Stylus Will Do

It doesn't have to be perfect to be way better than alternatives. Jot Script has tried to make useful stylus options, but of the 3 I've tried, they each fall short.

Sometimes, only a handwritten note will do, either because of the nature of the moment or the material, and all the products available now (even Evernote's versions) feel cobbled together...the stylus or the app feel disconnected from the other.

Maybe a tablet this big needs bezels to hold it comfortably? Holding a huge tablet with no bezels won't be easy.

Since the iPad will be thinner than a pencil, stylus users will want to buy the spendy Apple case that will have a handy pocket for it. Might also provide a gripping solution for the thin-bezelled Pro. Maybe also an optional keyboard?

The case might be a part of the device in a practical sense. Prediction: they won't give these away.

Weird, my Macbook Air doesn't seem to support touch input. I should go have it looked at. Must be defective.

no, it's just the artist/renderer. he used a pre-Air iPad for this. and the last 12" mba render had the esc key on the LEFT hand side. these people don't work for apple for very good reasons. what was the last spot-on render shown here? (before the point that parts leaks are basically 99% confirmed)? i'm sure there have been a couple, but these are notoriously incorrect. which is funny because most apple critics claim everything is exactly the same - so these predictions would always be easy, yeah?

I don't think this is going to be able to match the thinness of the smaller iPads. If this really is a "pro" version then the hardware is going to be more demanding and I'm not so sure they squeeze it in to that thin of a unit. Uless of course this thing really is just a scaled up iPad. And in that case, I don't have much interest.

Agree on the bezels though. The ones in this picture are too big, but you do need a pretty decent bezel when it comes to holding a bigger and heavier device like this.

Another pointless thread.

Would be really nice to get some decent info on the new iPad, Air and Watch.
