My toothbrush had wireless charging 10 years ago. Start your copiers, Samsung. I ****ing really hate comments like this. It's complete rubbish. Same with waterproofing and OLED and expandability... it's tech that's been around long before Samsung.

You mean like mp3 players was tech that existed before iPod?

Fact is Samsung just put the entire package together beautifully in its flagship product, that's what's incredible about it.

I think a lot of us would love to discuss about phones, technology, innovations in general. What I find disappointing that MR choses always Samsung for click baits, which brings out people like, well, people like you. Just like the Apple fanboys, equally annoying and on the other side of the spectrum.

Maybe MR will still run a thread about the really innovative phones which were presented in Barcelona.
Ha you're mad I see. The thing is once a fanboy gets hurt it's pretty much over. At first we were on topic, discussing the S7, then some people, well like yourself, didn't like that we discussed a Samsung products on an apple forum so they started making some sarcastic comments and just emotional replies. Of course we have to respond just like I'm doing here. If you guys don't like it, there are so many iPhone only related threads, please go there and have fun. But if we discuss a Samsung product on a Samsung thread, don't expect us to talk about cherries.

You said " Maybe MR will still run a thread about the really innovative phones which were presented in Barcelona ..." You sir are definitely not happy that Samsung is being talked about here. And I swear to God I absolutely love that you don't like it because there's nothing you can do about it :)

Where the money is sadly. When the iPhone 7 launches there will be articles galore and it's like flies on poop. What's really strange is people who have no desire to use (X) product and non-stop talk about it. When the iPhone launches for instance there will countless amounts of people who complain about it as if they are forced to buy it and whine and whine and whine. In the real world they are more lax about it but the net gets em good and fired up. Why worry about it? I don't know, I think it's cabin fever in a sense that causes this type of behavior. Doesn't matter what is said to these companies, when people talk more it lines their pockets more. Samsung and Apple get em chatty. The words are insignificant as long as the products are good which they are.

All fanatics are equally as bad. XBOX, PS, PC elitist, VW fanatics, Subaru, the list goes on and on. It's like arguing with a five year old, I don't got time for that. Words typed on forums should never get to anyone, ignoring it is truly the best thing. + people troll quite often and there are schills out there along with it. I enjoy reading it and conversing on occasion but I usually keep it to a minimum because the net is such a negative place it wears on you after awhile. Some of the oddball comments and the hyperbole about how moon tech has been discovered from one year to the next is amazing though. Makes me smile. And don't forget the 2 most overused phrases out there:

It blows it out of the water

The difference is night and day

The latter phrase makes me wonder. What happens to tech now that there has been many night and day differences? Shouldn't it be 5 nights and 5 days, or 10, or 15 by now? We should be flying to Andromeda by now according to some phrasing.

As far as the s7 goes it is a very nice phone and will be for a couple years. As everything else tech wise today it will date rapidly. All phones do it, prove me wrong, you can not. But for 2-3 years it will serve very well for many people.

Of course you do. Because like you said: once a fanboys gets hurt, it's over. Is this the Royal 'we', BTW?

You are right about the cherry talk though. The cherry in Barcelona was the LG G5, not the S7. Shame that LG doesn't get as much media coverage as Samsung for whatever reason... The phones are certainly quite good. Actually the LG I had previously had was a significant step up software wise over the Samsung i used previously.

Would have been a much better -and honest- thread, for the thread members who are actually interested in technology, if MR had reported about the most significant phones presented in Barcelona, not only Samsung.

Looks OK but frankly, wireless charging in its current form is not all it's cracked up to be.
Also I'd take onboard memory over having to fiddle with microSD cards and flaps any day of the week, and I'm sure a lot of iOS users feel the same way.
Yeah, that one time microSD flap access needed for 10+ times the amount of storage apple ships,by default?

Yeah, sounds really horrible, once you say it/type it

This post is absolutely on the money.

Every time a major release is out, there are threads every where. When the iPhone 7 comes out the internet is going to get flooded with those threads, on Windows phone forums, Android forums and obviously apple forums. That is just going to keep happening and the fanatics cannot stop it, it's freedom of speech.

What I don't get is that this thread has been opened to talk about the S7 because despite some apple fanatics hating it, it is a major release and everyone is talking about. So we come here and discuss the topic. Then what happens is one of these fanatics gets upset and says things like " I wonder why you Samsung pll are here, is it maybe that you're jealous of the iPhone ..." You know, some corny emotional stuff like that. Then me i just enjoy responding to those pll because I know for a fact that they are mad that Samsung is being talked about on a Samsung thread. It would have been different if IOS was the subject of the topic. So yeah it's unfortunate that some of the Apple fans are unable to put their emotions aside and just stay on topic or create their own thread titled " Why I think the iPhone is the best phone out",instead they come here knowing damn well some people are going to talk positive about Samsung and they will troll about it. They are the ones who cause issues in these type of thread and same goes for any thread where there is a comparison or a specific topic being discussed. For those ppl, just ignore this thread, you'll live I promise you.

Meh, it's all opinion which i don't care about really. I feel like your opinion is more emotionally driven than preference so why bother listening to you at this point. By the way, you have the right to open an LG G5 thread and speak on it and say how you think it's the best announcement of MWC.

The G5 is solid but the consensus out there seem to be that Samsung won at MWC.

I know, right? I mean when my iPhone runs out of memory, I much prefer shelling out $700 for a larger capacity iPhone instead of $49 for a 128GB microSD card. I mean, having to pop out the old microSD and put in a new one is just the pits!! :D

After looking at the the specs for the Galaxy S 7, I noticed the following:

1. The TouchWiz "skin" is far less intrusive than before, probably due to Google's design requirements for using Android 6.0 ("Marshmallow"). Indeed, the first UI screen on the Galaxy S 7 looks very close to that of the LG G5, which also uses Android 6.0.

2. I like the availability of up to 200 GB of Micro SD storage expansion, especially now with Android 6.0 the access to that storage by both apps and app data on the Micro SD card is much more thorough than before.

3. It's not a surprise Samsung chose to stay with the Micro USB connector. There has been a lot of hardware issues with the current USB Type C connector (why do you think Apple issued that recall for the USB Type C cable?), and the curren tGear VR is connected to the phone using the Micro USB connection.

4. It appears that Samsung did a good amount of ergonomic studies on the "feel" of the Galaxy S 7. Many who tried the Galaxy S 7 Edge said the phone was a lot comfort holding it than the iPhone 6s+.

5. They achieved IP68 moisture/dust resistance without needing to remove the 3.5 mm headphone jack, a pretty impressive achievement. As such, I think Apple might still consider keeping the 3.5 mm headphone jack on the iPhone 7, especially if customers demand it and it doesn't compromise any plans by Apple to improve moisture/dust resistance with the iPhone 7.

I can't wait for 3 years from now when Marshmallow has a 15% market saturation.
[doublepost=1456187254][/doublepost]If you follow the rumor sites.... Apple has been looking to make their iPhone 7 water-resistant. Wireless charging I seriously couldn't care less about. And OLED has some serious pros and cons. It's not simply a "superior technology" as people like to claim. There are some serious downsides to OLED as well as great upsides.... I'm personally glad Apple has waited on OLED until the resolved some of the color-accuracy issues, particularly with the screens as they age.

They'll be on Android P in three years. Maybe Peanut Brittle.

Don't get why people have to bash another product to make you feel great about your own. Nothing with praising a good product even if apple didn't make it.

I am not sure if that is suppose to be a knock on Android? These phones do come with Marshmallow. Would you rather the latest OSes are forced onto all old Android devices in the world so they come to a crawl and are unusable? Some people are perfectly happy staying with an older OS, more stable and built for their phone's specs. Because, lets be honest, they don't really bring all that much change these days. And if you want to install a newer version and your carrier or OEM doesn't provide it, you can always flash it.

Get out those copiers Apple. Did you hear they are going to be using electricity to power the iPhone 7 as well. What a hack!! That's been around for years!

It's every forum really. I got trolled on here for using Android, I got trolled on Android forums for posting with a signature that said sent from my iPhone, got trolled on Windows phone forums because I used an Android forum, it's just ppl being defensive lol. I love it cause it's so silly.

They may be on Android 'P' in 3 years.... but their market saturation (aka fragmentation) is atrocious.
That's because of the carriers and phone makers. Marshmallow has been out since October and the Galaxy S6 doesn't even have it yet. It's absolutely ridiculous. There'd be a lot better adoption rate if they would release the updates. Also some devices ... even ones that are not that old ... will NEVER get the latest updates. So stupid. I don't get why some of these guys have to re-theme the whole damn OS. They could just keep the OS stock while adding their own features and cut development times a lot shorter. It's like they have to redo everything and that clearly takes forever.

I am intrigued to say the least, I have the iPhone 6+, 42mm Apple Watch, MacBook Pro, and 2 Apple TV boxes, and my wife has the iPhone 6+ and the Apple Watch. With that said a few months ago I did that Samsung S6 Edge trial for $1 and I did enjoy the phone, loved the live Wallpaper and the camera, and it was a great looking phone. I now also have the Huawai Android Wear watch that I wear most of the time and wear my Apple Watch less and less.

I love Apple but that S7 Edge + is pretty sexy and it does make me curious, I will wait to see what the iPhone 7 has, but Samsung is starting to make my iPhone look very dull lol

Pair them up side by side, stick to the objective, and keep the subjective devoted rhetoric canned response out of it. Dominance. No worries though, they got pills for how you're feeling right now.

I feel fine. The s7 looks to be an impressive device. It's also the new flavor of the month right now. Dominance is something that's sustainable. If you want to say Samsung dominates the android flagship market there's evidence to support that. If I say the iPhone dominates the overall flagship smartphone market there's plenty of evidence to support that. I remember reading a stat saying close to 90% of smartphones over $600 sold are iPhones. That appears to be dominance to me.

But again both companies don't care about us. What matters to them is the money. And from what I've seen its Apple dominating that.

My issue is Samsung avoiding imo their real issue which is cheaper mid priced android phones. Although the lg is definitely interesting it'd take accessory oems time to unleash the potential.

"Dull" but stronger and lasts longer, depends on what you deem sexy; besides the Camera, Samsung flagship gets beat it all over the place. But, hey, it's shiny and new...
