WOW, the Apple fans are really upset about their wall hugger behaviour being captured in an ad.

Have a good one, man.

Haha. Love the ad!

How's this ad a (positive) promo for Apple's iPhone?

Same here, and it's very true, even with my iPod Touch which I only use for everything else but calling. The iPod Touch may get through an entire day of heavy use . . . the Note 2? At least a day and a half under heavy use.

Just calling and checking emails? Two days.

Ahh, external battery pack? Mine can charge my phone 4-6 full times.

I always like the external batter cases/packs, but I've always found them to be ugly and not offer much protection.

Then you have the issue of carrying around a bigger phone, which I see as a problem only because I would have bought a small thin phone for just that reason.

Approximately 4-5 people at the airport had a Samsung, everyone else had an iPhone.

Yes, but generally people will go after the message behind the ad. The number of people with iPhones in the ad would be irrelevant to many.

It does appear from the advert that Samsung are failing to sell many phones as they are outnumbered 15-1 lol.

The battery in the iPhone is crap though, its too small. I regularly need to give my iPhone5 a burst during the day while at work to last me to bed time.

the next big thing is here..
an extra battery to carry around.

You make it sound as if user replaceable batteries are somehow bad. I had to replace a year old battery in my wife's iPhone 5 a few months ago. I did it myself but Apple wants like $70 for the privilege.
I just ordered two Note 3 batteries and charger for $30 shipped. I see no problem with that.

It's understandable to show the benefits of your products over those of a your competitors, but does Samsung think they will attract customers by insulting them? Samsung isn't just criticizing iPhone, they're insulting iPhone users and have been for a while. Maybe I missed something. Is there research out there that suggests a customer will buy your product if you insult them for not having it?

Nonsense! You've missed just about all of the early 2000's Apple vs PC ads and many many MANY others adverts in just about every industry known to mankind.

Seriously, insulting a competitor or the users is nothing new and not that serious.

Reading these kind of comments gets a tad stale.

That, and it's a darn sight better than getting those huge 10,000 mAh battery packs too. I got one for the tablet and cell phone when I spent much of my time off the grid and they were nice, but being able to just throw in a second and third battery would have been nice.

Bringing two batts for the phone and tablet would have taken up much less space than just one external power pack.

What a load of BS.

at the Airport, I see just as many Samsung's plugging in as iPhone's.

They were just uh . . . . . um . . . . . . topping off!

Sorry for the lame excuse, that's the Apple fan in me unnecessarily defending a company's product.

hahahahahahahahaha that video is funny :D

Hopefully Apple will take notice, and everyone else? They have all placed design and device thickness over the usability of a bigger and user replaceable battery! And this was most certainly a trend implemented and started by Apple.

I got caught out at the weekend with my Nexus 5, started the day with a fully charged phone but I went to a motoring event and lots of HD video and HDR photos later, a totally dead phone.
I will be interested to see if this speculated extra 30% battery life Android L promises turns out to be the reality.

How useful is the phone when the battery is dead? Disabling power-hungry features when the battery is near to die is pretty smart imo

If all you want to do is make a phone call it's fine. If you need to do other things then it's not fine. Better to carry another battery, or a battery charging pack and use all the features you bought the phone for. I will always carry a "backup" solution, especially when flying. If you want to just "get by" by all means that's your prerogative. ;)

I for one wouldn't mind a thicker phone with a better battery. But in general, we all could use some battery technology breakthroughs. That's not coming soon, so Apple should think different, and go all in with wireless charging. I believe they have a tech that can charge things at some distance (like a meter). So have a nightstand charger near the bed and let it charge your phone, and your iWatch while you sleep with it on your wrist. Have one by your desktop Mac and let it charge your wireless keyboard and mouse. And let this charging tech or charger transfer data as well, to update your watch firmware, do backups etc. I see this as possible.

I do think samsung included this feature for those times when you forget to take with you any power bricks/external batteries out where you need to be able to communicate reliably. But i don't mind it, not getting any sammy phones anytime soon.

My Galaxy S5 has way better battery life than my iPhone 5S.

It's not even close in fact.

Actually not a bad advertisement. If there's one negative about the iPhone, it's the battery. My experience is that they've only gotten worse as the phones have improved. Although I'm sure Samsungs run out just as fast.

lol. Great ad angle.

Don't really think it is accurate, given that I go all day long on my iphone 5 comfortably, but it is really funny.

SAMSUNG BOARD MEETING:

How can we encourage Apple users to our devices ?

Lets alienate them by calling them wall huggers, That`s sure to work.

Brilliant, totally brilliant.

And just think, the battery life is better even with TouchWiz. Imagine if you ended up throwing CyanogenMod on there and waiting for Android L where you're going to be getting improved battery life.

Why can't we get an iOS release that improved battery life by about a third?

I gotta admit, this is a great commercial. Unfortunately, all cellphone makers are responsible for poor battery life, not only Apple.

That is really funny since my friends with androids ARE always out of charge, while my 4S is still kickin.

Samsung is a joke with these false adds, at least in my experience.

I'll take my compact 4S any day over the fatass galaxy phones.

Did you upgrade to iOS7? Because that took a good 1/3 off the battery life of my 4S.

How can we neutralize this issue?

Lets tell the world publicly all the other brands have the same issue during a presentation.
