Not True.

My iPhone 5S last at least 2 hours longer than Samsung S5 on the same amount of usage time and activities. I suppose people who think their Samsung last longer never used it non stop on internet (which is likely what most iPhone users do because, honestly, and it's true, that iOS user experience is just better).

The only thing that Samsung has that iPhone won't do is replaceable battery.

Where are They?

I've been at the airport today. Haven't seen any 'wall huggers'. Took a picture.

If you see any 'wall huggers' in your airport, please take picture and post bellow. Thanks! ;)

I can't comment on the Samsung's battery life (using Android is frustrating after being so used to iOS so I've avoided it), but Apple definitely needs to improve the iPhone battery life. I personally wouldn't mind a thicker device but I don't think Apple will ever head in that direction...

I actually like the complexity that Android has but I can understand that most people just need a smartphone to be a glorified app launcher. I don't want to be bored with the operating system. There is just so much you can do with an Android device especially a Nexus one that your always finding different tools, tweaks and tips.
For example I can remap the buttons on my Note 3 to do almost any activity. Or I could choose from 4 custom roms during boot up. Point is that I'm not bored my phone.
I'm here because like Steve Wozniak I love technology. I can't wait for a proper Apple vs. Android battle in the next few months. These Samsung ads are just the beginning. They know that a large iPhone is a threat.

GS5 has a twice as large battery and slightly bigger screen.

5s on the left and S5 on the right.

Optimization is everything.

Don't be a wall hugger

Look Like Darth Vader And Charge Your iPhone At The Same Time.

Differentiation

Samsung knows that screen size will no longer be a differentiating feature, so they quickly switch to the next one...battery life.

To me it's a pretty big step down...screen size is a true option...batteries are a commodity.

Maybe Apple did something to improve battery life on the iPhone 6.

Its only because apple users USE their devices

Sure. The battery could be better but in all honesty why do apple users need to charge their devices more? Well for one we use them a hell of a lot more. When I look around places at people using phones and tablets, the Apple:Samsung ratio is about 30:1

While I would buy & recommend a Samsung TV without a second guess, I wont say the same for their other products because Samsung takes their shots and in some cases they've pretty much insulted people in previous commercials that could have been potential customers I will stick with Apple.

I have no idea how the battery life on the S5 is, but they're certainly right about the iPhone, its battery life is pathetic. It barely lasts a full day during regular use. Why can't Apple just put in a bigger battery instead of making the phone 3 nanometers thinner and 0.4 grams lighter?

There are hardly any walls visible in your photograph

I trust Anandtech before I take the word of some random poster and their test show that the S5 consistently beats the 5s by a few hours. Even the charge time is better than the iPhone. And Anandtech is one of the most comprehensive test sites on the net.

Slightly bigger? Lol it's 25% larger with almost 3 times the amount of pixels...

My reason for saying "slightly bigger" is for a comparison with battery. Battery in S5 is twice as powerful, however screen is not twice as big. Thus the word "slightly". Got it?

I'm amazed at how many fanboys and Apple apologists there are out there.

Like most ads, it's effective because it has enough accuracy to strike a nerve. I call BS on all the people on here claiming they easily get a day (or more) use on their phone with normal activity. I love my iPhone as much as anyone...but I'm honest enough to admit the battery life is disappointing.

Most iPhone users I know I have a charger in their car and at work knowing full well their phone isn't going to make it through the day. And you can't go through any airport without seeing people clamoring around outlets charging up devices. Now you can argue that all smartphones eat batteries...but the image of people worrying about keeping their iPhone charged is something you see in real life.

Rather than knee-jerk bashing Samsung, you'd hope Apple fans would agree and put pressure on Apple to address it. There's all this talk about the iPhone 6 being 'thinner'....I'd MUCH rather have it be the same thickness and significantly better battery than the same performance as the 5/5S.

Are you serious? GS5 has 'slightly' bigger screen but it has 3 times the pixels than the iphone (2,073,600 vs 727,040). Hence, the talk time is twice as much ( twice the size of battery) and the battery life on activities requiring screen is not as significant but still beats iphone.

Name one single "I'm a Mac" ad that mocked a Windows user, as opposed to an anthropomorphic representation of the platform itself?

No, because I don't split hairs.

... I can understand that most people just need a smartphone to be a glorified app launcher. I don't want to be bored with the operating system....

I love it and I agree.

Although I don't think a larger iPhone is going to be much of a threat to Samsung, especially if it's just that . . . . a bigger iPhone and nothing else.

Without Samsung, this world would be a boring place! They keep us entertained with jokes. Galaxy is a bigger phone than iPhone thus includes a bigger battery.

UPDATE:

iPhone 5/5S: 1440 mAh
Galaxy S5: 2800 mAh

Like I said before, that's twice as much power but a slightly bigger screen.

I agree, and also it takes longer to charge. Thats what everyone forgets. WHat the iphone does with that 1440 mAh battery is amazing, and i know i can plug it in for 15-20 mins and get around a 1/2 of a charge. It also mean if you want you can have an external USB battery and you will get a full charge. I had a SGS3 and it was fuggin awful. On a good day without pushing the phone but with wifi/BT on checking emails every 10 mins the phone wouldn't make it to 4pm (unplugged at 7.30am that morning. When i went camping a big 20 Watt solar charger spent hours plugged into the phone and never got a full charge. Whats the point of the samsung power saver mode that has to turned everything off to get through the day. I'll tell you, that mode will be coming on VERY quickly.

Samsung starts with an S and MacRumors starts with an M. There's another difference. Neither are of any consequence to the point you attempted to make in your original post.

What a strange argument. How about this: News starts with a "N" and editorial starts with an "E." Are we having fun yet?

I went to android once, mainly because i was bored with the iphone OS. Apart form the AWFUL battery life it was fun to tweak things. But then i got bored of the fragmentation of the OS and all the parts (photos, messaging, email) not fitting to each other as well as iOS.

Have they never heard of portable batteries? i have 15000 mAH Anker portable battery and I could recharge my phone and do whatever i want without "hugging" the wall.....

I have no issue with my iPhone 5s battery life, even on the heaviest days it lasts all day.

I'd like to know just how many Galaxy users are carrying a 2nd charged battery with them on business trips? Or users able to even change their battery.

It's another attempt at Samsung bashing Apple because it can't make positive ads of it's own.

BTW I have an Otter Box case, which is about 14mm thick, which is almost twice as thick as the unprotected 5s.

I actually used a replaceable battery with my Note 2 but not with my Note 3. But because I'm a heavy user I finally broke down and ordered 2 batteries. And recently I've been forgetting to plug my phone in during the night. If I forget now I can just swap out the battery.
But if I own the iPhone 6 I would buy a battery case. I'm use to having big phones.
