Simply Amazing

All the people on here bashing a device that they have not even seen or touched yet.

They make stylus's for iPhone, iPad, guess no one's ever seen those in the Apple store or best buy.

iPhone or Samsung or what ever device you use is based on the network its on and IMHO AT&T's is NOT what they say it is.

When the networks upgrade to LTE and Apple makes an iPhone that will use that technology to it maximum then and only then will I be satisfied, but for now with the 4S and the network I'd just as soon go back to the old 3GS

I read a comment that said its hard to write with your finger, well first off you wont find an app that lets you write your own notes and if you do it probably wont work very well.

<3 :apple:

But isn't that exactly the point? You really can't write notes on the iphone but some people might want a device that they can. One that isn't a tablet but phone "sized."

All you did was prove his point valid. Well done.

Just going to point out FaceTime rip off of other products. Android already had video chatting before facetime. Just figure I would point that out to you.

And it's as elegant as taking a bath with a pig. Yep, apple made it EASY and it WORKS flawlessly... your stuff, kinda like a mattel toy.

and exactly how many lines form for samsung's product releases?

[crickets].....

thought so.

This is something I have yet to understand. I mean, why do people even line up for new iPhone releases anyway? They're hardly ever anything to lose sleep over.

I guess I was just never part of the band wagon.

cant knock them for trying.

But as quick as android/samsung/google puts out devices.. It'll be obsolete my July.

Just look at the Galaxy Nexus on Verizon.

In the end, every device has advantages & disadvantages. Getting upset over the presentation is kind of silly, IMO.

(Disclaimer: I use a Samsung Infuse 4G on a day to day basis; I have used an iPhone 4S for a reasonable amount of time and believe both devices are fantastic with their own shortcomings.)
Why are you posting then? Sounds to me your defending something here.

It's interesting that by and large, Samsung doesn't appear to be luring away any Apple users with these ads, but rather, other Android users.

You should look at the note. It is something that combines a tablet and a phone.

One of the biggest short comings of tablets right now is the lack of being able to use a stylus. For many things I would love to have one. Big time for taking notes or writing things down. In those things a stylus is just by far better. For basic navigation yeah the finger is great.

I use a stylus (pen) with my ipad2 at work every day...not sure what you point is...

Once again, Samsung looks pathetic and desparate. Sell your product on its own merits, not insulting stereotypes. These ads seem less inclined to convert Apple fans and more inclined to reinforce Android owners that they're smarter and cooler. Their stroking their fanbase's ego. That is all.

As opposed to the "think different" ads ?

Ok.

So, they used a stylus to make a red circle on what looks like Google maps and that's it. Um, ok.
Sammy is pathetic!

For those bashing the stylus...why did Apple make the keyboard dock for it? Which is harder to carry around? And for a tablet to truly replace pen and paper, you'll need a stylus. Can you imagine carrying around a tablet and typing into it everywhere, rather than simply writing on it? You'd need a surface to put it on to use that horrid keyboard. I have an iPad but need to have a macbook as well. Same goes for academia, could you imagine writing notes on that thing? Or even worse, having to do something like organic chemistry notes on your iPad? Doesn't work.

what the ***** did I just watch?

A commercial with a parade, a cannon, a guy playing the guitar, and someone drawing a circle on google maps with a stylus. Where do I sign up to become an ad exec for Samsung? I think I can make a commercial more stupid than this.

No those ads weren't as good as Apple's more recent ads (mostly the iPad ones). The older ads weren't direct shots at users either and we're directed at user experience more than the users themselves but I agree that those weren't Apple's best. They do better with ads that speak about their own products and I'm glad they headed in that direction.

Apple is still ahead on the tablet front, but Android is starting to pose a serious threat. In the past week, three of my favorite apps have made tablet friendly versions for Android. Trying to downplay such momentum is ridiculous. The iPad is still ahead, but android is a looming threat.

And Apple will come out with iPad3 and change the game again and android will take a year to catch up yet AGAIN so what are you trying to say? Apples tight hardware software integration is why Apple has been around for so long... get the idea? You probably don't... but you'll brainwash yourself into thinking this. of course anything can get bettered with time, but they DEBUT junk, and model everything they do from Apple. Apple invented the GUI and mouse... everyone followed. You haven't even a clue...

Samsung products feel cheap to hold, they look and feel like they are made from springy plastic from a Tic Tac box.

Android has always had issues right up to ICS and most phones don't even have ICS yet.

I once tried to use a GS2 in the sunlight and couldn't even see the words on the webpage. But i remember the colours being nice when inside.

IMO HTC Make a better quality phone which feels more like a premium device.

Every phone comes from Samsung just reminds me of the dreadful Tocco. They don't really change.

Sony and HTC seem to make more aesthetically pleasing phones.

But they don't really rival my JB iPhone 4S

A better tactic would have been to just show how 'amazing' it is and not have a guy doing jumps on a BMX. Seriously, do they think that sales would pick up after that?

Those didn't suck.

No. I was responding (and I should have been more clear) to the point that Samsung's ad was geared for Samsung's users to "reinforce" that they are cool.

The Mac/PC and Think Different campaigns (while also aimed at new users) was also aimed to make Mac users feel superior, cool, etc. Nothing new.

You belie your case here. Correct, styluses are nothing new, which is why people are laughing AT the Samsung ad and phone. Samsung is acting like it stumbled upon a new concept.

But more to the point, I seriously doubt many will be lining up for this phone, but I bet Samsung wishes people would, in which case it wouldn't be making fun of people lining up for new product.

I rather enjoyed the adds.

Come on. They brought "The darkness" back from the 90's. HOW IS THIS A BAD THING?
