Stating that wireless charging is not efficient and therefore "sharing" power from one phone to another won't be as "magical" as it is made to seem isn't relevant?

Agreed. Never said any different. I said I thought that would be a useful earlier.

In all of Samsung's marketing materials they show the phone charging another phone - I'm just stating that doing that won't be all that it is cracked up to be and will drain their battery FAST, while providing very little power to what they are charging. In a pinch, it might be useful. I don't think I've said anything otherwise?

Bob: "My phone is going to die, can you charge me up 5% using Power Share?"

Fred: "Sure! I still have 50% battery, I can afford to go down to 45%"

::20 minutes later::

Fred: "Ok, looks like your phone is up 5%. Here you go."

::2 minutes later::

Fred: "OMG! My battery is down to 20% now! What happened!?"
Will you say the same thing when Apple have the same feature on the next iPhones.

Screen protector for the S10 comes with a hole for the fingerprint sensor.

How is this supposed to be good design again? Seems like something that would get annoying very quickly.

Looks like Apple sticking to their guns with Face ID is looking increasingly prescient by the day.

Screen protectors like tempered glasses are useless in curved . screens since they break easily with my experience atleast with Note 8 and S9+. Scratch guard is better but in this case S10 people need to wait for the product and it's options in the market. Brands like Samsung won't risking customers turning away from something that they don't like it.

Having said that I use Galaxy Frontier smart watch from Samsung which has guerrilla glass never face any scratch or marks without any screen protection.

Samsung displays are by far superior when it comes to performance from all directions...

It’s protective film, not a screen protector. The third party screen protectors don’t have holes in them.

Yes I wouldn’t bother putting one on a curved display as it distorts the screen.

My husband has smashed every single Samsung phone he’s had so I’m s little apprehensive. However he smashed his iPhone 4 too. I had the S7 edge, note 8 and S9 plus for 3 months each and each screen was immaculate.

The white dome screen protector works with Samsung’s curved displays but I’m note sure about fitting it.

I stand corrected then.
However screen protectors don’t play well with Samsung’s curved displays.

Wasn't that when the iPhone had just come out? Or are you referring to the lower end 5c?

4GB was the low end on the original iphone. Last one with 8GB was the 5c.
Wouldnt have been an issue if they didnt make it download OS updates automatically over wifi.

Its funny that the people who are most defensive of the Apple brand are the mac rumors members who only joined in the last couple of years.

the only people I know that use whatsapp are outside of the US... I dont think anyone really uses it in the US.

Interesting, considering that WhatsaApp is a Facebook product :) Literally everyone in Europe uses WhatsApp, iMessages: not so much

Another Samsung bloatware special. Now packing extra bloat. The fork is strong with this one.

Ehm.. you do know how to uninstall apps? Or not answering ”yes” to all if the installer wants to add some extra apps that you dont going to use?

Yeah, Im only using it when my phone has decided to send a blue message instead of the green :D and it is probably just a one contact number.. anyway, whatsapp and skype always and sms for a person who doesnt use anything else than sms...

Very nice hardware... I really wish Android wasn't such a crappy mess.

Have you even tried android?? Should it be time to change the old worn record that has nothing to do with a reality.

That fingerprint scanner under the display is awesome! So... tempting... to take the sim out from my iphone and get the samsung phone... but im still hoping to see notchless iphone and maybe a fingerprint scanner again... and the new galaxy watch, so elegant... too tempting to jump over the edge...

That’s probably because we are the ones more in sync with Apple’s current product roadmap.

Think about it. The ones to join the Apple ecosystem recently (I myself got my first Apple product in 2011) would be those who actually like where Apple is headed. I myself have the iPhone, Apple Watch and Airpods, plus I use the iPad in the classroom every day, mirrored to an Apple TV. I use a 5k iMac at home for the heavy lifting, and don’t use a MacBook anymore. So I am in a nice little paradise where Apple is focusing on the products that I am actively using, and I don’t really care for the products that Apple is neglecting.

That’s why there no hate in our eyes. Yet.

Samsung is definitely innovating and their hardware design is just beyond what the other companies are doing (leap frogged the competitors including all the android manufacturers; and also pushing the envelop) . Apple needs to step up with the hardware game. Android software is getting better and better. In no doubt, it can surpass iOS already. People need to open their eyes to the possibilities. Apple can learn from this.

can't wait to see peoples faces on here when Apple release their new phones later this year and we find out they are a marginal upgrade and keeping largely the same design/features.

You'd like to think Apple would compete with some of the Android phone features but you just know that will not happen, nor will a review of pricing either. Those two issues I think need to be addressed for Apple to stop their phone sales (or upgrades) decline.

I think people will be disappointed with fingerprint reader. It works like 30 percent of the time. You won’t see Apple bring out features like this that simply aren’t ready. That’s if you can get past the Samsung bloat and Android forking.

Based on what exactly? All the people who actually have used it say it works very well

Stop making stuff up

It will likely work just as good as Face ID and Touch ID

Apple bringing out features until they are ready? Basically the apple excuse of being behind in tech you mean. Poor excuse and hate hearing that crap

"bringing out features until it's ready" is synonymous with "waiting until the cost of manufacturing is low enough that the maximization of profits for implementation can be complete.

I'm not the only one seeing it. See cnet. It's a dealbreaker. If Apple brought this out in this shape, they'd get clobbered. Since it's samsung, you kind of expect it so no biggie.

Seeing as Samsung bring out the best tech on the market your point doesn’t make any Sense

The fingerprint has seemed fine in every video I’ve seen. It’s also first gen for fingerprint under the display so speed wise it won’t be lightening fast from the get go

Face ID isn’t perfect and neither was Touch ID straight away

Not happening!
Apple is now counting on ecosystem experience - they have already given up on radical iphone innovation
[doublepost=1550732393][/doublepost]
I wouldn't call it hate.
Frustration perhaps that Apple has the means to innovate at a faster pace but chooses not to...

Innovation is how good they’ve gotten the LCD in the XR, the bionic processors in the phones and how they already smoke this new Samsung, the way they’re approaching privacy in the age of invasion, how MacBook Pro’s are smoking computers in real world situations like exporting 4K movies versus spec sheet superior windows equivalents ...

What do you expect?

Even having an LCD on any flagship is rather embarrassing in 2019 though in fairness

Least other flagship iPhones have OLED

You can bury your head in the sand all you wish... Apple created something extra-ordinary and groundbreaking a decade ago but now are content refining the ecosystem experience with accessories and services.
Vast majority would not agree that 326ppi LCD screen in 2018 is innovation.
Bionic processor performance is exceptional but ultimately overkill for a smartphone.
Let's not even talk about Macbook Pro quality control.

Night mode photography from Google or Galaxy Fold is what you'd call innovation in the smartphone space

Apple hold back on features so they can rip us off every year with the drip by drip updates.

They are also interested in having their own credit card. That says it all really.

Exactly!
FWIW, I do not even think that they are holding back on features anymore! They have decided to make the company service-centric until the next big thing comes along (smart glasses perhaps).

Interestingly, Samsung introduced OLED TVs in 2013 Consumer Electronics Show and later abandoned the tech in 2015 saying market was not ready embrace the high cost. It ended up being a costly misstep as LG stepped up and pretty much took over the premium TV market.

Apple would be wise not to make a similar mistake.
