If the ads was made the other way around, you'd be up in arms about them attacking users.

Only anthropomorphising the iPhone right?

Your statement sir has nothing to do with my views expressed in my previous comment and the only thing it indicates, through it's cruel generalisation, is pure immaturity from your side...

Samsung Galaxy 5S doesn't have bad battery life.

Pay Up or Shut Up Samsung

Pay Apple the court ordered $900 Million for slavishly copying the iPhone design & IP then you can just advertise your products instead of slamming Apple after ripping off their R&D & iPhone.

If you say so.......

I think the battery life issue is a real one. I hear more people complain about battery life than brag about how good it is for sure.

It struck me the other day that Apple might not be bothered about iPhone's battery life because they personally only use their iPhones when their iPads are out of reach.

Apple is not their problem… it's the zillion other cheaper Android phones. IMHO, Samsung is targeting the wrong competitor.

Obviously Samsung has a history of making anti-Apple advertisements, but in this case, it doesn't seem explicitly anti-Apple. In fact, it's just pointing out the improved battery features of it's newest device, which could also be seen as an attempt to instigate Samsung users with older products to upgrade.

It's not as if the ad is in the same realm as the "Next Big Thing is Already Here" campaign.

I have no trouble getting through the day with my iPhone 5, and often have between 40 and 50% left when it goes on the charger at night.

My daughter has my old iPhone 4 and the battery is still fine. I asked her if she was having battery issues to which she replied "nope". She has no issues getting through the day.

At that point her boyfriend, who plugged in his Galaxy S4, immediately upon arriving (2:30 pm), piped in that he only gets 6 hours at best. Trying to be nice, I replied "well, I bet that you had better battery life when your phone was new, batteries degrade over time".

He said that is the best that he's ever got and the phone was brand new this past February. His previous Samsung phone was just as bad.

Samsung is full of ******.

Based on independent tests, the iPhone's battery life is not as good as some other phones, but it's not nearly as bad as Samsung makes it out to be. Samsung always do best when they run the tests and can skew the outcome, yet when an independent source does the testing they never fair as well...Food for thought.

With all of that said, better battery life would still be nice for everyone.

More advertisement for Apple, when will they learn...?

no mention of apple or iphone on this low budget poster

but i find it strange that this had to be expanded to airports. i thought that was kinda the purpose of the ads

Go watch the PC vs Mac ads again. All of them. A PC user would not upgrade himself. A Mac user would not install a new OS on himself. A Mac user would not describe another person as its user.

If you are unable to understand the personifications of the PC and the Mac in those ads, it's your loss. Apple never attacked the potential switchers, they attacked the OS of the other company.

What Samsung is thinking of achieving here is quite strange. They're basically spitting on people and then asking them to use their products instead. That's just stupid.

im going to ignore your arbitrary paper thin reason for why one kind of ads are great and the others not

who is being spat on and how exactly? its pointing out a flaw (in samsungs eyes and many others) in a device that a lot of people bought. where is the personal attack?

Passing through DCA and ORD today - stepping around the wall huggers, at those two airports, is like walking through a mine field. As usual, the majority will be iPhone users.

Samsung Galaxy 5S doesn't have bad battery life.

You have to remember that Galaxy S5 has twice the battery capacity is iphone 5S, yet barely out performs it in any of the battery tests.

On wifi tests Samsung S5 lasts about 10 hours 30 minutes, while Apple 5S lasts 10 hours 10 minutes.

Then you have the massive trade-offs to get this tiny extra bit of life... you have 40% extra weight because of the massive battery.

Then you have the 'power saving' mode that Samsung are pushing, they even go as far as 'black and whiting' the screen (this is purely for show - it still draws the same amount of power). Apple could simply add ability to disable 4G/LTE in its control center - which basically would achieve the exact same thing.

Bad math and an explanation that agrees with Samsung. I would not want you defending me.

Add a battery case to the Samsung and you're right back at the better battery life for the Samsung. You didn't think that one through did you?

Actually you didn't think it through.

The apple phones are 40% lighter and smaller. Adding the battery case makes them of comparable size and weight to Samsung.

The Samsung phones barely beat apple, despite having twice the size battery.

Samsung also are pretty stupid... if people wanted a 3G only peice of crap that can't run any power apps... they would get a dumb phone. How many people would choose to go 10 hours with a dumb phone over recharging? Probably no one.

(Also is it just me or is America way behind the times: all planes in my country have TV's in the head rests with USB ports - so you can recharge your phone on the flight, everyone does it).

Could it possibly be because there are more iPhone users?

In other news nearly all shark attacks happen in shallow water, so that means shallow water is more dangerous than deep water – right?

Oh wait... there are more people swimming in shallow water, so...

But still with a tiny display

The Samsung phones barely beat apple, despite having twice the size battery.

The bigger battery is both facilitated and necessitated by the bigger display, those two factors go hand in hand so the fact that Samsung phones DO beat the iPhone in battery life, albeit "barely", is a point in their favor.

Samsung seems to be really confident that their phones don't ever need to be charged. Because, if they put up nasty attack ads on all these wall chargers, and a Samsung user charges their phone there (and why wouldn't they, right before a big long flight that might not have power sockets), then Samsung's going to look pretty stupid.

Seems like a bit of a design flaw.

Nasty attack ad.... Seriously. You call that a nasty attack ad.

It's pointing out the shortcoming of another device while touting a feature in their new phone. Some of you take this schit way too seriously.

You really didn't understand that advert did you.

I understood it perfectly. I've seen a lot of spin regarding its meaning. Anyone without blinders on knew what inferences were being made. Cool hipster dude with the skinny jeans and untucked shirt (where have I seen that before? Hmmm, the last development conference with apple) vs the stodgy dorky PC.

Like I said, if anyone wants to know the definition of hypocrisy, they can come spend an hour on macrumors and there will be plenty of examples.

That was his point I think. Comparatively, the Samsung battery is not that much better than the iPhone.

They have a bigger battery, and that's it. If the iPhone gets a bigger battery it too will last longer. But as it stands now the Samsung has a battery with almost double the size and is not much better than the iPhone.

Proportionality.

I call shenanigans (Have to use the South Park term instead of saying BS) Every time there is a post about battery life, somebody comes on claiming they get plenty of battery life from their iPhone..ending the day with plenty of charge.

Sure, if you put your phone away for the entire work day and never use it, it could have 30% or 40% at night. But how many users on here would leave for the day without a charger in their car/office/briefcase/backpack and trust it would get through the day with 'plenty of charge'?

So Samsung's magical feature prohibits you from doing all of the things people want to do on a phone, like use Wi-Fi, mobile, data, applications, etc. So basically, Samsung users would be tethered to wall outlets, too, I guess.
