Captain of the Titanic said the same thing when he ordered the deck chairs to be rearranged.

OK, not comparing the Galaxy S8 to a sinking ship, just that moving buttons around isn't really new. It's not new if Samsung does it. It's not new if Apple does it. It's just rearranged deck chairs. The ship is the same as it was before.

yea I'm sorry but just no,it's a design change.the phone has a different look and has a new screen aspect ratio.

it is a design change and you are flat out wrong for thinking otherwise.

16:9 screen is no more,it's probably the biggest design change since the first 16:9 ratio

there is also zero side bezels and minimal top and bottom bezels.

Probably it's only disadvantage. Most people who criticize Samsung's S-series phones haven't tried them - they are actually beautiful devices and the displays are very clearly better quality than what Apple has been using on its iPhones.

I have a Galaxy s7 right here next to me, and my old iPhone 5s. I don't know why but after 2 months i switched back to the old 5s and sold the s7. It might be beautiful but that doesn't mean ****.

Minor points:
* Didnt like the android/samsung experience, and rooting was just too much of a hassle.
* For me in most picture conditions the photo's of the s7 were way worse, which is definitely the software samsung puts on the camera app.
* Touchwizz still has lagg quite often
* Couldn't get all apps to work together with my mac, another android issue.
* Was hoping to be able to install a custom rom, just clean android, wasn't possible due to the samsung exynos chip. only if my device had the snapdragon chip it was possible.
* Price in my country is more or less the same as a new iPhone.

First of all, I truly wish you a lasting recovery. This is some very scary stuff.
As for the AirPods: they have the same RF output as a WiFi access point (100mw), so it's essentially like tying an AP to each side of your head and sticking the antenna in your ear. I initially bought them but have since stopped using them because they continuously gave me headaches (literally). Don't know whether it's the RF output or just the form of the device exerting physical pressure on my scull bone and / or cartilage. There are three different bluetooth classes, 1, 2 + 3. Class 3 has a power output of 1mw, class 2 has an output of 2.5mw and class one is at 100mw. So far, bluetooth headsets have mainly been class 2 (or even one). That has proven to be enough power to keep them connected for a distance of around 10m. Why Apple has chosen to use a class 1 radio with a range of hundreds of feet, nobody knows. It seems completely unnecessary and careless.

so you're waiting for the S8 copy made by Apple.
Oh you are a funny one everyone knows Samsung has copied Apple from the get go end of story.

Wow, thanks for the information.

Profits are important. But to say the company with the highest profits has the best products is plain false.

The iPhone 8 is going to look similar to the S8

And how is Android inferior apart from apps quality?
Actually the s8 will look similar to the iPhone 8, as the leaks for the iPhone 8 were out first.

Nice... A masterful design appealing to those owning slammed Honda/Acura cars loaded up with VTEC stickers, a huge wing off the trunk, and sporting six inch exhaust tips with a muffler that makes your ride sound like a can full of angry bees when you step on the gas.

oh look i found samsung racists here

guys the phone looks great. wait for the reviews before you pan it.

just remember this phone lets you run whatever apps you want. we are stuck with apple maps, mail, calendar, reminders, etc. which is all junk

Lack of bezels started with sharp in 2014. It's not new.

The Sharp has a chin bigger than the iPhone. Its not bezel free. Samsung has almost entirely removed the bezels. And it looks like a different design. By your logic, NONE of the iPhones so far were new designs

We have known Galaxy S8 was bezel free since September last year when the iPhone 7 released. If anything Apple copied the rumors

That is a GORGEOUS phone.

These people blindly finding negative things to say about the phone -- especially things as ridiculous as "but it runs Android" or the folks still making the explosion jokes. That's like saying you hate Lamborghinis because you personally own a Ferrari. They're both terrific automobiles and they both look incredible. And they're both in the high-end segment of the market.

Ridiculous. Real fans of tech appreciate hardware advancements regardless of who it's coming from, which -- by the way -- we haven't been seeing any of from Apple in a while.

Seriously, if next iPhone isn't completely new design and major advancement from iPhone 6/6plus-7/7plus then Android will take gargantuan lead over iOS. Even now iPhones market share is looking more and more like Mac vs. Windows situation and we know what developers think about shrinking sales opportunities. I truly hope Apple will release totally re-designed flag ship iPhone and also at least one dirt cheap model so that iOS can truly challenge Anroid in every possible market. Dirt cheap models are important for the future of iOS.

Apple doesn't put unit market share ahead of profit market share. iPhones make far more money, even at far less volume. And that profit ensures the next model carries on the tradition of quality and simplicity.

Still feels "dirty" to me. But I guess I've drunk too much Apple juice.

Looks pretty much like a 7 Edge to me. Sorry, that's just how it looks to me. It might be a change but it's slight, kind of how BMW does it's mid-model LCI update -- same car with new bumper or taillights.

Samsung virtually copied the sharp. A little less or a little more is still copying.

And I agree the iPhones weren't new designs. That much should be obvious just by looking at them through the years. So if anything Apple and Samsung both copied sharp

The biggest problem I have with their devices is bloat whether it be apps or touchwiz.

Only reason I got a Note 4 was the S-Pen, otherwise their software puts me off buying their phones.

I wish OEMs would stick more to stock Android where possible and make anything extra an app which can be removed permanently.

Knox is also a pain for anyone who may wish to mod while not causing permanent 'damage'.

Samsung always gains the upper hand over Apple with its spring phone releases. I don't know why Cupertino doesn't bring the iPhone launch date forward...

You kidding? Because if they were to launch their next iPhone from the last September launch date, they would need to design and produce a new iPhone in 6 months.

I know the type. The fart can Honda Civic owners. :D But I don't see why this phone would appeal to them?

Nice work, Samsung! You're up, Apple! Whatcha got?

Also, you know I'm gonna say it: Please don't let the premium iPhone 8 be the size of a phablet.

Why fix it if it 'aint broke? In terms of the physical design, my perferred version was always the iphone 4/4s, but there's only so much you can do with a device that size which is largely a screen.

Because if they took that attitude and had not changed the design since the iPhone 4/4s I suspect their market share would be tiny. Who on earth would want to keep spending money year after year (as they do now) for a phone that is essentially the same design?
