I hope Apple sues all these companies for deliberately misrepresenting its products to a global audience. Apple can make tens of billions of dollars I think from all the lawsuits. I'm really angry right now about this. This isn't right.

I think you're missing the point.

Well, I don't think he is missing it exactly, but he's not addressing it head-on. Who actually is going to stuff his 6+ into a skinny jeans pocket, even walking around? Would you? Personally, I keep my oversize gizmos in a shirt pocket; others I know hang them from their belt, a fanny pack, purse (or "man purse")... I can't stand keeping even my tiny little old 4S in a regular trouser pocket.

I'm sure someone does it, of course. But I bet it's like 2% of users... who should get a decent case.

Yes. Actually yes. I actually expect people not to sit on a $1000 device. I expect people to take their notebook out of their backpack before they throw the backpack in the river. I expect them to wheel their 42 inch TV out the front door before they burn down their house. I expect them to take off their $5000 Rolex before they get into the ring to fight for the heavyweight boxing title. I expect people to have at least a trace of common sense.

And yes, when someone sits on a Samsung phone with an aluminum unibody and it - how surprisingly - bends as well, I will facepalm just as much.

It bends when you've got it in your front pocket, due to its size and thinness. That's not 'sitting on your phone'. That's 'having it in your pocket'. This 'bendgate' wasn't anywhere near as much of a problem with the earlier iPhone models.

Yet you find a way to claim that it's the fault of the users. Implying that all bendgate issues are from people sitting on their phones is insulting to their intelligence.

Yes it is, you must be new to phones.

No, I just have a brain.

So, seriously, you sit on your phone routinely? You never once thought to question the wisdom of doing that? Awesome! Do you ever sit on your laptop or TV remote or tablet? I'm not sure I understand the benefit of sitting on your electronic devices, but it must be good. Let us all in on the secret.

Your question doesn't make sense. Sony, Samsung, HTC, Oneplus, Motorola, LG, etc. don't release their phones at the same time in the year.

It makes sense. Just add up the sales (to end user, not "sales" like Samsung reports) for 2 flagship phones for all those companies up to 3 days after release.

It took Samsung about 11 days to sell 1 million S5s (assuming that's sales to users and not users+carriers+stores); the Note 3 was a great seller, taking only 60 days to sell 10 million (again, that's not necessarily to users though). The HTC One M8 took about a month to hit 500,000 sales. The LG G3 is doing well. It might hit 10 million sometime within the next 6 months (based on rumors) but has been out since May in South Korea and July in the U.S. The Moto X (2013) maybe sold 500,000 during its peak quarter.

Put everything together and you aren't even close to 10 million flagship Android-based phones sold in a 3 day span.

Samesung shill. Quite a few of them in here too. Check the posting history before replying!

It's okay, companies like Samsung can shell out money to pay private contractors to post negative apple remarks on various Internet forums. So much spending, no selling, no margins - the cash will run out soon.

One thing android and apple fans have in common is their obsession with the iPhone.

Apple will be dead and buried long before Samsung even get close to going out of business. Ignorance in his forum is high as usual.

It's light hearted fun. Nothing more. Apple do the same given a chance.

It's a shame so many apple fans take things far too personally. It's just a phone.

Scrutiny

True but along with Antennagate, the bent phones and iOS issues, AppleMaps, etc. all put dents (pun intended) in their just works air of perfection persona that so many like to cling to. Apple screws up just like other companies.

But Apple is Scrutinized much more then any other company in the world! If this was a Samsung phone, or any other manufacturer this would never even be an issue!

It will never matter what Apple makes, people are always going to try and take them down! They do great things and a lot of people can not stand their great success! So any little flaw will be exploited and used against them, even when it's not a real problem, it will be made to look like one.

"Antennagate" was the same thing we are seeing now, it's only going to happen to a small percentage of people, but made to look like simply putting the phone in your front pocket is going to ruin your phone. I've been carrying my iPhone 6+ in my front pocket for almost a week now, and no bent phone!

It might happen to some, and I'm sure Apple will replace them under warranty.

My question is, how would these other company's handle the constant scrutiny Apple is under???
:cool::apple::apple::apple:

Android dominates the global market share, you are right. On an individual phone basis, iPhone dominates. For example, the 2 new iPhones sold 10 million units in 3 days. It took the Galaxy S5, Samsung's best seller, 25 days to sell that many, despite being released in 140 more countries. I'd say there is a clear leader. This is the same reason every other phone manufacturer attacks Apple. Ever heard someone say that if someone is trying to bring you down, it's because you are already above them? That applies here.

The point is that your phone fits in your pocket - your laptop and and tablet are typically on a desk, a table, whatever.

(Personally I don't sit on my phone since that's uncomfortable and dumb, but when your phone can get noticeably bent from being in your pocket, then your phone has a problem.)

Antennagate wasn't solved by software either. Unless those free bumper cases were software.

Nice try, though. Thanks for playing.

And so the radeongate on 2011-MBPs or the yellowgate on all retina Macbooks. People have a lot of reasons to wait. In the radeongate, people started facing the issue after the Apple Care window.

In my case, I'm waiting for better displays inside my Apple Care window because I'm not eligible anymore for a full return after having entered the display lottery.

In the antennagate, people were waiting for a software fix as it seemed to be a plausible solution.

In the bend gate, people are inside the return window and there isn't any chance that the issue will be solved by software.

Nice try too!

wonder if Apple will be making any changes to the internals of the chassis for iPhone 6+ or if they'll just release a "Your carrying it wrong" statement and address issue for iPhone 6S+ model. Seems if they just built up the chassis along the sim and volume button area with a re-enforced iBeam it would be able to withstand bending. Either way, they are in damage control mode between this and 8.0.2 snafus. Even though I love the size of the 5.5", I am glad I went with the regular 6, its crazy big already!

I love how Apple doesn't acknowledge the commercials and ads. They're juvenile.
Stay classy, Apple. You're SO FAR in your competitors heads.

I love these made-up controversies.

What next Samsung? Going to demand to see Tim Cook's real birth certificate?
