No...but if I ever owned an iPhone before the 11 or never owned an iPhone, i don’t have one of those cables or power adapters? So my iPhone 12 cable is useless to me.

...and for the record those adaptors are all useless with my iPhone 12; Apple knew that when they made their cynical decision, but no worries they’ll pretend it’s all good for the environment and they’ll all lap it up.

People are making it sound like 99% of iPhone owners will need to get adapters. The percentage is VERY VERY low where they don't have a USB-C power brick OR a USB-A power brick. If they never owned any smartphone, obviously they will need additional accessories!

Boy that's rich.

It isn't my problem what the components cost Apple. It is their job to increase the value of what they offer. I'm not expected to sympathize with them that worthless 5G modems cost them a lot in fees.

The iPhone 12 is $829 which is a $130 increase over iPhone 11. While also removing $60 worth of accessories (now $40 due to price changes) from the box.

What does this even mean? This is like saying a 10-core CPU should cost the same as a dual core CPU? More and better tech increases price.

Ya, but Samsung will mock anyone walking on two legs as well.. No one can hep themselves. Gives that 'edge' to the ones in the sunshine for 5 minutes, then hides back under their rock.

Yawn... sorry, I’d mock them too. Their claims that the exclusion of the charger was an ecological decision is pure and utter BS. Why then is the cable that is provided USB-C? Anyone? Everyone raving that they already have a charger, do you have a USB C charger? How many iPhones have used USB C charging cables?
Can we please skip the size comparisons, the feature comparisons, the ranting, the raving, the salivating, and the public masturbation over a phone? Please, move on.

And this makes all USB-A power bricks and USB-A to Lightning cables useless? No. There is an extra USB-C to Lightning if you want to get a USB brick for the fast charging feature. I have dozens of USB-A bricks and cables around the house I can use instead.

No one heard of using a Mac to charge? I know it's probably ab-normal on the road, or out and about, but people also carry mophie cases as well for that extended life anyway, so really your better off. You may not even be around an AC plug.

Samsung’s utter lack of self-awareness and their marketing cowardice are legion. How they can look themselves in the mirror with their boneheaded levels of hypocrisy is astounding.

I literally had to start giving away charging bricks because we had accumulated so many.

My wife keeps one pair of earpods in her backpack, I keep one at my desk and one in my work bag, and then I think I have two more sitting in a drawer, but then almost always use my AirPods.

Some people might find the change silly.
I totally get it.
Do you have that many usb-c adapters? I don’t believe it. I have 11 pro so I have a cable. This year I will upgrade everyone else in my family and then what? One usb-c for the whole family or 100$ additional for Apple. So much foe saving Mother Earth.

"In the name of saving dear earth"; thought Samsung will support environment by following Apple's lead not shipping power adapter with phone but instead pathetically mocks Apple. You are anti environment. How low can you go Samsung ? Shame on you!!

It’s not b.s. That’s the lazy, cynical, guy-living-on-his-mom’s-couch point of view, but it’s not reality. The European Union has actally been investigating e-waste and criticizing electronics makers like Apple for years for the acres of landfills replete with chargers, cords, and adapters. The problem is very real, and if you’re not aware of it then it’s time to get wise. Apple, as they often do, are leading the charge from the front, and taking much of the fire that the cowards hiding behind them (cough, cough, Samsung) will miss.

Also, why would anyone need a USB A cable? Every one alive has half a dozen of them from all the phones they’ve bought. The USB C cable is provided for those with modern computers that have USB C but not cables.

You see, it‘s all logical and makes sense. Just kinda hard to see all that from the cheap seats in your parents’ basement.

Samsung on its social channels is mocking Apple for removing the power adapter from the iPhone 12 lineup and other iPhone models, pointing out the fact that the Samsung Galaxy smartphones continue to ship with a power adapter.
Because it went so well for them when they mocked Apple for ditching the headphone jack. I mean, Samsung didn't have to go scorched earth remove all their prior ads, marketing, and hide the fact they were removing the headphone jack themselves in the new Note phone....

I'd like Samsung to show true courage and commit to never excluding a power adapter, ever.

You realise in making this strange augment against apples choice here, you have actually strengthened it right? It would definitely be a waste of money and time, and and incur an increased carbon footprint and an increased potential ewaste factor to deliver an iPhone with the power adapter to your house.
I was talking for the regular people ;)

Dual Core and 10 Core are different models. Different products altogether, in fact. YoY iPhone iteration is not.

We know, we know samsung....
You did the same thing with the iphone not user replaceble battery, with no headphone jack....and now with the charger...but after a time, you will come along and take the same idea and apply to your own products as well
Samsung the biggest "hypocrite" company
At least Samsung usually takes longer than a year. Google is the ultimate copycat, making fun of Apple ditching the headphone jack while immediately did it as well the following year.

i think the insult stems around the claim that the accessories are no longer included to save the planet.
I think that's pretty hard to swallow even for rabid environmental fanatics.
There’s no insult. It’s all an imagined slight by those who are too cynical in their own lives to imagine that anyone, let along a large corporation, might do things for reasons less selfish than their own in order to help the only planet we have.

Keep laughing, Samsung.

We all know that when you find out you can save money by removing it, you'll quietly do the same next year.
Yup. Samsung already dropped headsets on their flagship, although sometimes Samsung ran promos of getting their TWS for free or at a discount.

Here's the thing -- if you have owned ANY smart phone over the last several years, you have at least one USB-A charging block. If you have owned any tablet over the last several years, you have at least one USB-A charging block. Hell, even the basic phones I sell at work come with a USB-A charging block and a micro USB cable. Nobody needs an additional charging block just because they are buying a new phone.

Sure, it sucks that Apple decided to include a USB-C to Lightning cable with the iPhones this year instead of a USB-A to Lightning cable. But this truly only impacts those people who are new to Apple. If they need a USB-A to lightning cable to work with their existing charging blocks, those are cheap and easy to come by (I buy 10' Amazon Basics ones for $12.99 or so). If you already have an iPhone, I'm sure you have plenty of cables lying around.

Sure, I don't fully buy the "environmentally friendly" thing. But, let's be real, there is absolutely no reason to be stressing about not getting the charging block that you probably already have.

What do you think produces a bigger carbon footprint, a phone or a charger? If environment is the concern, of course.

By the way, if we really want to take good care of our home, the Earth, it’s more than possible that are going to stop buying whatever we want whenever we want just because we can. But that’s another matter.
I would ask the question a different way about what produces a bigger carbon footprint. Of course if the environment is a concern.
1) phone
2) charger
3) phone + charger + headset

In my house I just did an inventory. 1 charger in the living room, 1 in the kitchen, 3 in my office, 2 in my bedroom and two more in other rooms. Headsets, 3 extra sets of earpods and 3 sets of airpods. I don't know if this is typical or not, but I don't need either and I suspect there are many other households that are similar.

So it makes sense to me that a positive impact on the environment, will happen with the removal of earpods and charger. And additionally, less packaging, less carbon dioxide/monoxide due to reduced use of fossil fuels in transportation.

I agree those who use private sales and include the charger and earpods are disenfranchised, but that is the trade-off for imo, the few to the many.

2021 the vanishing of all power adaptors in all android phones 😆 🤦🏻‍♀️

Apple - no chargers or ear phones for you
Apple fans - WTH, you are greedy, this is unacceptable
Samsung - mocks Apple
Apple fans unite

Until next year when they ditch it too.
Well at least they give you a usb-c charging brick years before....
meanwhile Apple removes it and gives people a usb-c to lightning cable WITHOUT previously giving people a usb-c charging brick.
seems like Apple isnt too smart is covering their “earth benefits” and is getting 20$ more for everyone that needs that charging brick which they don’t have. Pretty crap if you ask me.
it would be ok if Apple gave us a usb-c charging brick at least 1 year prior but it’s bad how they went about this.
