because they have to bribe people to buy their new phones in any sort of volume.
Apple is literally removing things and they are still going to sell more iPhones at launch then Samsung ever has or ever will of a new model.
Or just don't mock them for something they know they will do anyway. I swear I heard that the had announced that they would be getting rid of the charger in their upcoming phones, maybe it was another Android manufacture. You're 100% right - they will ditch it like they did headphone jacks (after mocking Apple about that)...I'd have more respect for Samsung if they stayed the course instead of following Apple.

How do you know they haven’t passed it onto consumers? Do you know what it costs Apple to produce these phones? If their margins are less this year than last, that’s exactly what they’ve done. The Pro Models have a 5G modem, a larger display, new wireless charging hardware, and more memory in the base model yet cost exactly the same as last year. The 256GB models have all of these changes yet cost $50 LESS.
Or... it could be someone who genuinely disagrees with Apple getting rid of the charger and headphones.I had a feeling Samsung would have their people here to defend against Apple. Then they followup stating which Apple products they own or that they own Apple stock to justify their Apple trashing. Happens quite often.![]()
It can be both. Reducing e-waste is good marketing, from Apple's point of view. Their niche market is very environmentally awareWhilst I think this is more about Apple saving money as opposed to the environment, it will still have a positive impact and reduce so much e-waste. For Samsung to mock it is rather pathetic and could backfire.
Can we please skip the size comparisons, the feature comparisons, the ranting, the raving, the salivating, and the public masturbation over a phone? Please, move on.
I still use my lightning cable from my iPhone 5... I have every cable, charging brick and earpods from every iPhone since so I don't mind the move. By the way, Apple still includes a lightning cable with the new phones...Alright, I can charge through my laptops ports so I can do without the charger. Yes, earphones are optional accessory but I NEED this PROPIETARY Lightning cable. A lot of people who don't follow tech will get a nasty surprise when they get home and open the box to find they cant charge their device.
When I go to buy a product I expect it to "just work".
Another thing is Apple cables are absolute junk, they all fall apart sooner or later, I can always use a new Apple cable. If they care so much how about they design a cable that lasts longer than 2-3 years.
You can spin any decision as helping the environment, really. Apple would help even more if they doubled their phone prices, reducing sales.Making fun of someone who made the decision for helping the environment, is the stuppiest thing ever.
There doesn't need to be a law holding every product to that standard. Apple's been making things that "just work" for decades, without any laws dictating it, to build their brand. It's like saying Windows should be illegal because it sucks.Alright, I can charge through my laptops ports so I can do without the charger. People need the chargers and will go drive their SUVs to the Apple store or order a bubble-wrapped Amazon package to get them if they don't come with the phone.Samsung makes fun of Apple for not including chargers and earpiece in the phone box anymore. But we should all remember the necessity to preserve our planet. Including ditching millions of extra chargers we don't need.
So what i see now is a company laughing at another company that tries and be more eco-friendly. And that makes me sad.
We should actively do anything we can to be responsible towards our home. Our dear Earth.
How many chargers do you have leftover in your house that you charge your phone with? I rarely take the lighting cable and power adapter out of the box. Apple realized that.In some ways, I feel like the mocking is justified. IMO, Apple's nixing of the charger was a bit premature, especially since we're not talking 5W adapters, but rather 15W+ adapters. In other words, "too soon."
No...but if I ever owned an iPhone before the 11 or never owned an iPhone, i don’t have one of those cables or power adapters? So my iPhone 12 cable is useless to me.
...and for the record those adaptors are all useless with my iPhone 12; Apple knew that when they made their cynical decision, but no worries they’ll pretend it’s all good for the environment and they’ll all lap it up.
