I go SO stung with the ipad 3 :(
Bought an iPad 3 on day1 because I couldn’t stand the pixels on my iPad 2.

Loved the retina hated the weight and thickness after iPad 2.

Bought an air 2 on day 1 for the Touch ID. Gave the 3 to my aunt. Kept the 2 as a home hub before I had an Apple TV.

My aunt still loves her daily use of my old iPad 3.

Just what everyone wants, a phone that is at least twice as thick and needs to be opened to see what is on the screen.
Agreed. I love I could dispense with a my thick wallet after Apple Pay in my hip pocket.

Why would I want to replace that lump with a rigid lump?

Foldable seems just so pointless, uncomfortable and fragile to me.

Likewise, iPad 3 delivered on day one. Thicker, heavier, and obsolete in 6 months. Went Air and Air 2 and onwards since. In fact if I recall, I went Mini 1 with iPad 3 and used Mini more.

I'll never understand why companies mention their competitors in ads like this. That sort of thing generally only appeals to your most ardent fans who can give a smug smile, but already own your product. Its a weird strategy.

have samsung forgotten all the other mock adverts they ran only to then copy...

the notch..
the removal of the charger.

Plus... folding? Have they also forgotten the disastrous launch when the things broke and they had to withdraw the product?

Im not anti-samsung or anti choice - but when all you can do to make yourself look better is put others down... its pretty low.
AND until they can solve the crease... who wants a folding phone? Not me thanks.

Samsung used to mock apple while they prepared to copy apple.

Now Samsung is mocking Apple for not copying them.

Maybe things work in reverse now, Samsung mocks, then drops its product.

The AD is quite stupid..
But I'm 20 year Apple user who also had been on iPhone since 2009 and recently switched to Samsjng Z Fold 4.

To those who say foldable is a gimmick, I hate the Sammy UX but I just cant imagine myself going back to nonfoldable phone. Foldables are just that good.

Anyone using iPad will like the foldable (not the Flip one, which I feel does not provide any benefit..)

I think folding phones have a lot of potential. It just needs to be manufactured properly with the right OS installed.

Sad. Very sad. When someone makes a compelling argument for a foldable phone, then I will look at it. I'm not opposed to one, I just don't see the point.
I'm in the same boat. From what I can tell, the concept is perfect for people that consume alot of media (movies, video, shows) on their phone. If that's you, then sure, get a foldable phone. It seems like it fulfills the old "phablet" market. I'm careful not to degrade the idea because there are so many technologies that seemed foolish before they were widespread, but I'm just skeptical.

I'd mock Sumsoonye for lack of a decent smartphone. I wonder if Siumsiun is finally going to make it?

I'd imagine Samsung also produces the actual foldable display. It's in their best interest to do this marketing, because if it gets the iPhone owners enough jazz about the product, Apple may actually build it and thus Samsung produces more foldable displays.

🤷‍♂️ unless it’s comes with a warp capable shuttle pod, I don’t need a flip phone for my lifestyle.

Cue the people attacking Samsung while they cheered on Apple attacking Windows.
Cue the apples to oranges comparisons. That ad campaign stopped running in 2009 when the tech landscape was completely different. And it was punching up (Apple's marketshare was single digits compared to Microsoft) and not punching down (Samsung has a much bigger marketshare in phones than Apple).

There's a difference between playful teasing and banter. It's subtle but the banter comes through in every Samsung ad.

Folding the display is just plain stupid. It will wear out no matter what. Why would anyone buy this? What is the advantage of this Flip compared to a conventional phone?

Coworker has a phone that folds lengthwise, when closed its thicccc AF, when open the crease looks tacky AF. Couldn't tell you what brand it is, not sure if its Lamesung or something else.

No thanks...

Apple do have their own foldable

If they are going to continue this ad campaign Samsung should at least accurately depict the glaring visible crease in the middle of the screen when it is flipped open. Probably would put most iPhone owners' minds at ease!

Poor Apple, the #1 smartphone in the US doesn't have the feature that hardly anybody has or wants, which only really exist because of curved (and roll-up) TVs that never took off or became a thing either, but we gotta do something with these flexi-screens we put so much effort into producing that nobody wants.

I enjoy my non-creased, all-glass, all metal, non-hinged, thin and lightweight iPhone as is. I've had folding phones, in the late 90's. It was awful.
