To give time for the controversy to blow over by the time the iPhone X was ready to be unveiled.

Well that makes sense. To give time for the controversy to blow over by the time the iPhone X was ready to be unveiled.
Samsung has expanded upon its "Ingenius" ad campaign with three new videos titled Dongle, Fast Charger, and Camera.
In each of the videos, Samsung depicts an Apple Store employee having a conversation with a customer, attempting to justify the iPhone compared to the Galaxy S9, as it relates to the camera, dongles, and more.
In the first ad, a customer asks if he can use his wired headphones with the iPhone X, and the Genius informs him that he will need a dongle. The customer then inquires about charging at the same time, and the Genius says he'll need another dongle. The customer then says, "so, a double dongle."
For what it's worth, rumors suggest Apple will include a faster 18W charger in the box with its upcoming 2018 iPhones.
In the second ad, which has the same format, a customer asks if the iPhone X comes with a fast charger, like the Galaxy S9 does. The employee says no, informing her that she can purchase a Lightning to USB-C cable, along with a USB-C power adapter, for fast charging. The customer has a puzzled reaction.
The third ad emphasizes that the Galaxy S9+'s camera has a higher DxOMark score than the iPhone X--99 versus 97 respectively--although DxOMark has attracted some criticism, and camera quality can be subjective.
Samsung shared the first ad in this series earlier this week, highlighting the Galaxy S9's faster LTE download speeds versus the iPhone X, based on Ookla's Speedtest Intelligence Data from February to April 2018.
The ads don't even try to hide the fact that it's supposed to be an Apple Store, and are a clear jab at "Geniuses." Samsung has repeatedly tried to mock Apple and the iPhone, though, so this is par for course for them.

double dongle...
Well... valid points there... Frankly, some of them are the reason why the 6S and SE are still popular. IMHO Apple needs to pull their head of the place where the sun doesn't shine... customers are lazy, they don't change quickly, but add enough invonveniences and they'll leave over time. Compensating that over higher device prices isn't going to scale that much...
Next iPhone better be a rock solid release like the new Macs...
Too bad Apple doesn't support APT-X on their 1000$ phone... Ironically, the cheapest macbook does.
I completely agree. I hadn’t used my headphone jack since my iPhone 5 and I don’t see it being a huge deal to place a dongle at the end of your wire and leave it there if that’s what you so choose. I feel the benefits were greater in the end.

It’s just not worth the space in my eyes, any space. The benefits of a wireless connection far outweigh any concessions they would need to make to keep it in their phones.
When your main sales argument is to discredit others, it is that your company is not doing well....
But you didn’t did you?![]()
You mean like the "Get a Mac" Campaign Apple did from 2006 to 2009?These adverts are embarrassing. Why doesn't Samsung focus on showcasing their products instead of bashing the competition? Are they trying to be Microsoft or something?!
You're right but I don't think that invalidates anything I've stated.Uhm ... you may want to rethink what you're posting.
When you say "iPhone didn't exist yet which is a lifetime in the tech industry.", are you referring to an alternate dimension where the iPhone wasn't released in 2007 and the "I'm A PC/Mac" ads didn't run from 2006 through 2009?
You may be right but I wasn't talking about motivations to buy the devices, only observations after the devices were in use. Have you observed Apple customers flaunting their wealth or economic status moreso than Samsung customers? I have not.And I thought Apple fans buy iPhones to show them how a league apart they are from the common man. Numerous posts on this web site has pointed in the direction that poor people buy Android.

The tone of those Mac and PC ads was very different. It was more playful. Samsung’s are just obnoxious. They look more like fanboy videos than ads.So true. so true.
So true. so true.

Oh yes, Apple put their competition down correctly. When Samsung does it, they do it wrong. It’s cause they’re insecure.

Those days seemed to ring more truth though. Apple was then the new cool kid on the block, pc was still the nerd.
Seems to be the logic around here. I’m grouping all of them together as the “Double Dongle Team!”There’s the Apple way. Which is the only way![]()
You’re joking right? Apple devices are supposed to seamlessly work together. You can use the cable to transfer all of your photos and videos to your MacBook (much faster than iPhoto and wifi). iTunes is hit and miss to connect over wifi. I always have to use the cable to transfer music. Plus the good old feature of you know, charging your phone whil working on your MacBook?! Well now you need a “Double Dongle” to do any of these features that used to work just fine. Innovation means, pay us more to do the same old things to Apple. You don’t need s cable to connect your iPhone to your MacBook Pro.

Lol at using dongles.
It’s still a reason.Well, the reason I stick with the iPhone is because the alarm clock has been the most reliable.
Those adverts are really pretty bad. Too short; not funny; indeed, they even make the customers look foolish. The idea that the iPhone camera is weaker because of some obscure "score" renders that one a failure, too. The dongle one fails because the headphone dongle is included. Plus, "double dongle" and the tag line are juvenile, sophomoric, and that's an insult to sophomores! None of them are "ingenious" the supposed theme (which is hard to read on the person's knuckles, any way!)
In contrast, Apple's "I'm a Mac, I'm a PC" ads were crisp, well acted, with good exchanges, and most were quite humorous. There were 24 of them, and each new one was quite an event. Samsung's ads will never get that type of buzz.
The best dongle spoof I've ever seen was this one:

Samsung needs to hire a new ad agency. TBWA\Chiat\Day, anyone?
