If the iPhone 5 is banned in the US. Samsung will probably lose more in sales than Apple will with the lack of iPhone 5 because people will boycott Samsung products. Not only that, Apple will stop buying from Samsung and that alone is billions.

----------

your logic = epic fail

You've got to be kidding me. Samsung will never win. Samsung is just hating because their phones are pieces of ****. Apple wouldn't waste their time trying to copy your phones!

Too bad Samsung holds the most LTE patents in the world. I believe 800+ and apple only has 44. Might want to rethink that .

The people that will boycott Samsung products are the same people that were not going to buy one at the first place...

Apple should just buy Samsung and be done with all this nonsense.

They can't afford it

Samsung's Market Cap is only about $17B-$18B (depending on how bad the US $ is doing)... and Apple has plenty of cash lying around... just buy these bastards and put an end to all of the drama....

Samsung is much bigger company then Apple. You clearly dont understand what marketcap means. Apple dont have the moneyt to buy Samsung and never well.

Time-scales mean these lawsuits are pretty pointless. I read somewhere that the trial date would be March 2014 at earliest for both Samsung's complaint against the iPhone 5 and the Apple claims against S3 and Jelly Bean etc..

Going on current releases a 5s or equivalent would be out and a 6 just around the corner for Apple, plus probably IOS7. Samsung will be on an S5 or equivalent and at least 3 more iterations of Android will be out.

What is the point?

Low blow samesung. how is this not personal ? why not sue other LTE phone. oh that's right, samsung loves apple.

Let them fight it out-

People have so many opinions, with a lack of rock solid information.
Apple has already proven that they were ripped off, in terms of Samsung copying there device and or products and tec.

I mean there were insider emails from people at Samsung that prove what they were doing to copy what Apple had done.

As for this continuing law suite, not really new, but moved forward from other cases, Samsung is reaching for straws and wasting there time and Apple's time.

I have never seen a company so sore about loosing even when there wrong.

They need to stop "acting" so petty and get there engineers to maybe really come up with "the next big thing", and stop all this none sense.

Wasn't the "The Next Big Thing" a catch term that Steve Jobs used to use? With also "One More Thing".

I think it would be wise for Samsung to back off, there loosing friends in the industry and making new enemy's as well. Everything has there rules, and Samsung is stepping out of line in so many ways.

If you get caught you pay the price and try to get back in the game.
Samsung is doing nothing like that, and it will hurt itself big time in the long run because they don't seem to know when to stop taking punches to the head.....

Incorrect.
FRAND rates do not have to be the same for everyone.

Some licensees agree to cross license their own patents in return for a lower rate.
Those who choose to forgoe cross licensing deals tend to pay higher FRAND rates than the others.

Thanks for the correction/clarification. What I was trying to state was that Samsung could not ask for significantly higher rates than another company given the same circumstances. FRAND was supposed to give all competitors access to the same technology patents that are required to be used for compatibility with industry standards such as LTE, 3G, WiFi, etc.

Being as you are stating rock solid fact you may wish to change your statement to "Apple has already proven that they were ripped off in America, in terms of Samsung copying there device and or products and tec. ", the rest of the world judged it differently.

Indeed it did, sometimes Samsung won, sometimes Apple won, the point being, Apple never took the petty road. Thanks for pointing that out-

Apple and Samsung are like two little kids right now. What's next? They will be suing because both of their phones are black or white.

Samsung was always going to retaliate. If you were in charge of a large multinational company with huge financial muscle, would you take it lying down?

I think you need to just think who did this, or started it

Apple did it because of patent infringements, however Samsung calls that a tactic to get rid of competition. Except, you know when they counter sue, then the reason is to protect Samsung IP, even though they clearly states that the reason is a response to Apple's anti competitive behavior. You can't have it both ways.

Samsung said in a separate statement on Thursday: "Apple continues to take aggressive legal measures that will limit market competition. Under these circumstances, we have little choice but to take the steps necessary to protect our innovations and intellectual property rights."

The balls on these guys! So Apple is limiting market competition, but Samsung is just protecting their innovation. How do the lawyers say these things in court with a straight face?

Money helps. XD

Here we go...again..

Strangely, if Samsung bans the iPhone, I'm pretty sure there will be a lot of angry people waiting to kill them.

It won't matter, once they get the cease and decists, Apple will have sold 8 million. Too little too late. ;)
