Annnnddd...so it begins. I've been saying for years that all Apple needs to do is release a bigger iPhone and a few more customization options in iOS and the major points of differentiation are completely wiped out for Android manufacturers like Samsung.

So basically you've been saying for years that all Apple needs to do is copy Samsung and Android.

Looks like they did. Who needs innovation? :apple:

With the surge of Chinese smartphone companies, Samsung is starting to loose the spec sheet battle. And besides that, there is no other reason to get a Samsung. User experience is pretty much the same over all Android devices and Touchwiz is not making anything better. No one buys Samsung for the look and feel either. Their phones feel cheaper than equivalent HTC's and Sony's.

Please speak for yourself.

My i7 PC, I want desperately to be, 10x at least the power it is today.

Most night now I'm waiting 10 or 15 mins for 1 frame to render.

Even 20x the current speed of my PC would only just be getting bearable.

You are talking about PCs! Sure.

Which is why Apple computers are loved by the businesses that need the speed and capacity for their computing needs!

iPhones perform better and last longer, even with their smaller batteries, because of the optimized OS for the hardware used.

Try a Mac Pro - same i7, superior performance and results.

No it's doesn't bend......it just breaks..

Polycarbonate is one of the most resilient plastics on the planet. They make flak jackets and bullet-proof vests out of it because it doesn't break.

Aluminum, on the other hand, is used to make soda cans.

But hey, if Apple says metal is better then it must be true. Just be careful putting it in your pocket, it might bend.

This news warms my Apple Shareholder Heart.

All of us Apple loyalists knew this would be the case eventually when the iPhone 6 debuted. Now it looks to be a reality.

Copy cats get just what they deserve - flash-in-the-pan headlines & profits and then the old crash 'n burn.

Wait until the newly refreshed iPads, iMacs & The Watch are released. :apple:

Samsung has always been great at manufacturing good solid components. They manufacture some of the best consumer SSD's on the market, their 3D NAND technology is a breathtaking major advancement, their AMOLED displays are the best on the market, and I have always been impressed with their mobile CPU's.

But a smartphone needs more than just good components. It needs good software. And the problem with software is that it's more than just meeting or beating technical specifications, it's more than just adding gimmicky features and getting them to work half decently. Software is a work of art, you can't just take an existing OS (Android) and slap on a new UI layer on top of things and expect it to work decently.

Even worse is the marketing spec-war among Android manufacturers. Right now, Samsung, HTC, etc. are engaged in a spec-war with one another. This is why you are seeing smartphones with 3GB of RAM and 8-core CPU's. The problem is, they can never use even close to this amount of horsepower. The vast, overwhelming majority of apps are single-threaded, and can only use one of those 8 cores. This is why Samsung phones, with those supposedly "fast" processors, are still far slower than iPhones for almost every third-party app on the app store.

Instead of throwing more and more money in to adding more cores and more RAM, they should be pouring R&D spending in to making the software more efficient. Google has been showing a lot of promise in this area lately, but with all of the different phones it has to support, it's hard to imagine that Android will ever come close to being as efficient as iOS.

Chinese, Japanese and Koreans - not exactly the best of pals historically, nor a love triangle now!

No matter the giant strides the Chinese have made in the last 2-3 decades, they are still the world's slave laborers! It will change - just how many decades is the time-line puzzle!

Then, the SE Asians, Pakis, Indians, Africans countries will step in to be the dirt cheap work-force, as they have started already!

No, no it doesn't. :D

It's ok I don't plan to go to war anytime soon.... So I will pass up on polycarbonate version... And I like bendy phones, so I am covered..

Just wish they would fold in half...easier to carry then in my pocket.

I hope they lose so much money they stop making phones. I hate Samsung and their junk phones.

A soda can is sexier than a flak jacket though. ;)

Samsung will never stop making phones, just to spite you.

But honestly, without Samsung, you wouldn't have the iPhone as it is today. For the longest time, Samsung built over 50% of the parts inside the iPhone, and Apple depended on them.

Count your blessings. :apple:

The software I use does not exist for Macs.
Part of the never ending problem of owning an Apple computer :(

If Samesung never existed, Apple would have simply turned left or right and sourced components from someone else. Think Samesung is the only semiconductor or screen manufacturer in the world? Apple designed the phone you're now holding. Award-winning chefs create masterpieces with ingredients they can buy from any number of grocers.

Now Samesung, without Apple... well...

I'm amused at the rage of the Samsung users in this thread. Kool aid, cults, sheep, only thing missing is someone bringing up great artists steal! It's amusing how angry they are :D

Making their own product (the iPhone) larger as the world has become more comfortable with candy bar style touchscreen smartphones is hardly "copying Samsung and Android." They just make changes with the user and developer in mind rather than dropping 400 product SKU's on the market overnight to see what sticks. Pretty sure if it wasn't for the iPhone, Samsung users would be rocking this bad boy in their pocket LOL:D

Hmm, why does the iPhone 6 Plus look so familiar? Oh, that's right...
