Apple & Football

please dont tell me youre saying broncos = apple. apple would never allow themselves to get embarassed like last year

No way Apple is like the Broncos! Especially after last year's trip to the wood shed at the hands of the Seahawks.

No, this year I'd say they are more like the scrappy, always improving, pounding forward no matter what the adversity, San Diego Chargers.

Regardless of your NFL team, the Bolts have certainly captured the attention of all who follow American football. They are much like Apple in that they deliver, not always when we think they will, but the design & quality is second to none at the root level. Oh, they do not need to copy anybody to get the product delivered to satisfied customers.

Go Apple! :apple:

That sounds like "logical" but to be honest, that's not the reason, at least from my own perspective. Over the years people have grown tired of the Windows monopoly and wanted choice. Either at work or home you were basically forced to use Windows if you wanted to get along in the computing world.
It's not that way anymore. That's one of the reasons Blackberry was so successful in the business world. It wasn't Windows. But then Blackberry had a monopoly. Then Apple and Google released their OS's and now people have choice. Windows Phone and the Surface aren't very successful because people now have choice and are no longer being forced, with the exception of some business entities.

This is the same issue with the Xbox One vs. the Playstation 4. People have grown tired of Microsoft and they can't catch up to Sony with the Playstation 4.

Windows monopoly on phones was a lifetime ago and only the old timers (like me) really remember those days. Rebranding and some original and targeted marketing is what they need to become relevant again but this will not happen overnight.

Either way at there current pace they will disappear in the smart phone world which would be shame since competition is always better for the consumer in the end.

Good Christ... the circle jerking in this thread is so stupid I can't even have a reasonable conversation.

Well, not like Samsung has gained any friends from the Apple fans over the past few years.

On the reasonable side, Samsung was smart to see that larger screens had value in the market and they definitely capitalized on that… However, I don't put "larger screens" in the "innovation" camp because, it's just a variation of what's existing.

But, they did exploit this and Androids flexibility to gain lots of market share. But now fast forward to today and they have competition all over the place and on the Android side it's all about "bang for the buck"… or in other words, less profits for the manufacture as they all try to out-do each other with feature spec's for the money. A race to the bottom.

To me, it seems the smart phone market as we know it today has capped out in the innovation camp. Until someone does something totally different with significant advantages over what we have today (from anyone) it's all just spec-bumps and probably will be for a few more years.

Given this, I think it's going to be a tough go on the Android side of the market because there is little to differentiate one device from the other. Apple at least has it's own eco system that it can leverage and on top of that continues to make products that are high quality.

I'm just waiting for the next big chapter to begin in the technology department.

Apple should be worried also... the market is saturated, growth is slowing, technology is turning stagnant.

You Apple fans can celebrate today, but tomorrow it will be your turn to cut losses.

Mark my words.

bwahahhahahahaha TODAY IS TODAY and its a great day,a wonderful day, TOMOROW IS TOMOROW, and you never know hahahahaha, mark my words

Apple

Fortunately,

Patriotism and adaptation of "Westernism" still applies in the world economy.

Apple has played on the heartstrings of the biggest and richest consumer economy on the planet. The United States of America. With all the outsourcing of jobs and the reliance of products made in China especially, the american public has suffered to pay premium on an American idea, Steve Job's idea.

Now the other reality is the notion of "what's good for America should be good for the rest of the world." Most countries feed on American consumerism. Until American is knocked off its perch as the trendsetter for anything, imported products will never be preferred.

Another example, Ford F-150 vs Toyota Tundra.

I'm amused at the rage of the Samsung users in this thread. Kool aid, cults, sheep, only thing missing is someone bringing up great artists steal! It's amusing how angry they are :D

I think they're just amused that Apple is finding so much success following Samsung's lead again.

Apple, without Samesung, would have simply turned left or right and sourced components from someone else. Think Samesung is the only semiconductor or screen manufacturer in the world? Apple designed the phone you're now :

Coincidentally Steve Jobs was in full flight then - and fully at the helm.

Hmm, why does the iPhone 6 Plus look so familiar? Oh, that's right...

 :apple:  :apple:  :apple:  :apple:  :apple:

Again, and why do ALL Samesung phones look so familiar? Oh that's right:

For some insane reason that no one has told me YET Apple ceded the large phone market to Android which includes Samsung. Why did they do this? The world screamed for a big iPhone for years and Apple said, NO this little thing is the right size. Now Apple doesn't even offer the new iPhone 6 in the old size. If it(the old iPhone) was the perfect size, why not make a 4 inch iPhone SIX.

I'm stumped.

I freely admit that the Apple Distortion Field is occasionally too much for me.

Stupid Moronic Headline.

Yes, Samsung profits fall, good quality low priced models coming up.

NOT because Apple have just in the past couple of weeks launched a large screen model.

Sheesh.

And that's why the headline neither states nor implies that Apple and the iPhone 6 are responsible.

Whew! One of the self-appointed forum police didn’t show up till a few dozen posts in ... I was getting worried their morning search for ’Samsung’ didn’t work :D Hopefully dispatch will get the others here soon!

Yes, good ol' Craig will be in full swing today. He was getting a bit quiet lately. I was worried if he disappeared because of budget cuts

The answer is simple really.

Over the years, Apple was continually losing marketshare to Android, more specifically to Samsung. Because people wanted larger phones and higher resolution screens.

Apple was basically forced to concede and admit they were wrong, and enter into the market that Samsung and others had paved the way for.

It was always about Screen Size and Price vs iOS. It was never about Android vs iOS.

People left the iOS environment because they preferred the larger screen. Androids are mostly for the pragmatic and the tech-savvy. Some were unwilling to pay premium to use iOS when Android performed the same basic functions in a "fundamental" way. Tech-savvy people who were so entranced by specs would have also chosen Android devices.

Now though, with the iPhone 6 and Plus, people are flocking to the user experience of iOS. They even swallow the premium price.

Samsung is doomed!!

No - it is state run! Like Hyundai/Kia! Those three will always have a consumer base.

The iPhone 6/6+ family is not the best from Apple, structurally! It will actually cause a dip in Apple's name after user experience crosses the 4-6 month mark! The main fault, trying to be Android-like in every way, when all they needed was a bigger screen. The older folks' eyes like the bigger screens - hence the long queues in front of Apple store were typically <30 years old all these years for those "tiny" screens! Now, more of the elders are in those lines!

Yay! Let's all celebrate the failures of competition. Our iDevices are just too cheap and Apple is headed to the poor house.

There are no great artists at Samsung. :p

How Samsung plans to get inside your company

Amidst growing competition from giants like Apple, Google and Microsoft in the enterprise space, Samsung is now ramping up its efforts in tackling the business market.

The company is planning to launch a new set of services beginning early next year that aim to make it the go-to solutions provider for companies' technology needs.

The new suite of business offerings, dubbed Samsung 360 Services, is the company's push to become a help desk of sorts for businesses IT departments.

"It's understanding what problems they want to solve and then what applications that they either have or that they want to develop and then helping them figure out how to build them or assist them in building them," said Sam Phillips of Samsung's Global Enterprise Security Services. "It's really about helping solve that complex problem."

The customizable services range from technical support to security solutions to even having a Samsung employee embedded in a client's business as an on-site support manager and technology consultant.

"Having somebody on site with you is key to your success because that person is now physically there and they are with you and can help us understand what is going on within the culture and activities of the company and put a perspective on it that somebody sitting in a call center or is only with you on a periodic basis can't really gather," Phillips said.

An embedded Samsung employee would also serve as an in-house salesman to push Samsung and partner products, he said.

"They are going to help be our eyes and ears, as well as our customers' eyes and ears back into Samsung and really facilitating the dialogue of support solutions moving forward," he said.

So far, Samsung has rolled out its new services product in beta with several Fortune 1000 companies, but it declined to identify the businesses. Phillips said the industries that have shown interest include health care, transportation and finance.

Samsung 360 Services will launch early next year, beginning in the U.S., Phillips said. Pricing will be based on a per-user model and on what services a company signs up for, he said.

Now, now. No reason to get snippy because Apple copied Samsung.

Apple can't be an innovator all the time. They occasionally get their ideas from somewhere else.

Lol.
Put your smug away.
Derp derp... there's NO way anybody could change the dimensions of a product without copying??
I wonder if you realize how stupid you sound. This is akin to the copying rounded corners argument, just reversing the companies...
If Samsung added a secure enclave to their processors THAT would be copying. If Apple added S-Voice THAT would be copying. If Apple does two slightly larger sizes, neither of which are the exact size of Samsung's flagship... on phones that bear no design cues from Samsung's offerings- that is NOT copying.
Now, now... no reason to talk down to others when you're the one being foolish, ridiculous, and insincere.

Not sure how this affects Apple since Samsung's competitors also compete with Apple. The downward trend began about a year ago so obviously it's not the 6+, lol.

I see Apple's main competitor as Google. Android devices may come and go, but it is Android itself that competes with iOS. It's a great arms race between Apple and Google and it benefits the users of both platforms.

I'm still hoping Android L finally nails it. The GUI is there, but stability and performance are lacking. The mobile OS landscape reminds me of the 90s desktop OS battle: Apple had the superior GUI but lacked protected memory and crashed embarrassingly often, while Windows had superior performance and stability but the GUI was rather rigid and clunky. Now Android has the superior GUI, but iOS is faster and rock solid (except for iOS 8 :( ) Not saying iOS is as bad as Windows, but it's lagging in versatility for sure.

Anyways, back on topic, I detest Samsung's mods to Android. They are gaudy advertisements for the showroom devices that have no usability advantages whatsoever. If Samsung offered a pure version of Android, I would actually consider one of their devices. Still wouldn't buy it, but I'd consider it!

Reachability, NFC payments, bigger screen, notification center, widgets in notification center

So which of these is supposed to be "stealing"? Anything that has to do with notifications is stuff that Apple had twenty years ago in MacOS. Surely Apple is allowed to copy its own inventions from a computer 20 years ago to a smartphone?

Bigger screen: The first Mac in 1984 had a bigger screen than any Samsung phone. So I'd say all these Samsung phones are just bad copies of the first Mac, with a smaller screen.

Reachability: No idea what you are talking about, but it was in iOS ages ago.

NFC payments: Apple is using a public standard in the way that it should be used, while adding a few things that others don't have. Mostly, having your data safe from any snooping. Public standards are _supposed_ to be used by everyone.

someone in high position in samsung uses apple product and iphone and he said because apple has good quality. but he has to use samsung product in his office,in his house all is apple
