Hopefully you're smart enough to realize that most cases are designed to provide shock protection, not structural rigidity. I'll put my 6+ in a case when it arrives but I'm under no illusions: it will still be prone to bending.
Speck, Spigen, Otterbox, just to name a few, all have rigid cases with shock absorption.

Yeah Samsung is Doomed! Just look at their wiki and it will shake you to your core just seeing how huge the company is in the world. Samsung is like a small country. HUGH!

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Samsung

Samsung comprises around 80 companies.[68] It is highly diversified, with activities in areas including construction, consumer electronics, financial services, shipbuilding, and medical services.[68]

In FY 2009, Samsung reported consolidated revenues of 220 trillion KRW ($172.5 billion). In FY 2010, Samsung reported consolidated revenues of 280 trillion KRW ($258 billion), and profits of 30 trillion KRW ($27.6 billion) (based upon a KRW-USD exchange rate of 1,084.5 KRW per USD, the spot rate as of 19 August 2011).[69] However, it should be noted that these amounts do not include the revenues from all of Samsung's subsidiaries based outside South Korea.[70]
And?
Doesn't change their mobile results.

There mobile division will continue to take hits.

Components vs Architect!

If this was true... then who's going to make the A8? Who is going to supply the good panels for all the iPads, iPhones and MacBooks?

C'mon guys... we all have a little Samsung in us. Hard to admit? Yes, I know.

As well as Sandisk, Corning, MU and various other component suppliers!

Other Apple products have Intel inside them!

My point is, Apple is the architect! The credit does not go to the mason who poured the cement into the concrete mixer!

What is yours?

Very good news. Shamesung boat is rocking, many are waking up to their fake captain.

This is just the beginning..

The article is about their mobile division

In the U.S ok...

Single minded Apple :p

Better start thinking outside the box in.... And it's a small box at that.

There is a new world out there, market, not lack of market....... but Apple doesn't wanna know that.

I may just go with it and get an Android phone.... i only have a few apps anyway to loose... but i'll keep my iPad :)

Snip... While you're tied down in purgatory, I'm enjoying the best of both worlds.
The purgatory is your mindset.
What's purgatory for you is a non-issue for the tens of millions of iOS users.

Lines longer than ever at the Fifth Avenue store this morning.

Saw no signs of purgatory, just excited people.

Can't wait for the U.S. launch of GN4. :p

As many people in this thread have already mentioned, this result hasn't even factored in the effect of the strong iPhone 6/6+ sales. I expect the drop will be even more in the next quarter.

I used to have a Samsung Galaxy S III. I switched to the iPhone 6 because the iPhone 6 has a much nicer, more consistent UI and way longer battery life (every time I surf the Internet on my old phone the battery charge level drops dramatically).

Because Apple has eliminated its biggest disadvantage compared to the Samsung phones--the too-small touchscreen--I expect sales of the Galaxy S 5 to drop steeply, and sales of the Galaxy Note 4 may not be as strong as Samsung wanted. This is why I think Samsung should seriously consider a deal where the successors to the Galaxy S 5 and eventually Galaxy Note 4 switch to the Google Play user interface used on the upcoming Android L (which the latest rumor will be codenamed "Lemon Meringue Pie") and allow Galaxy S 5 and Galaxy Note 4 users the option to switch to the Google-developed UI.

If you make people love their servitude, they'll never question it.
People are free to use or not use iOS. It's s choice.

No one is holding a gun on them.

That's why you have the freedom to choice android, windows phone or some other OS.

I have owned and currently own plenty of Apple products. Surprise surprise, just because I'm platform agnostic doesn't mean I hate Apple. I just refuse to kiss their rear end like most of y'all. Same thing goes for samsung, I'm not tied down to anyone and I wouldn't have it any other way.

Not so much Apple, its the other android OEM's that will ultimately put the most squeeze on Samsung. I have been saying this for over a year (on macrumors), there isn't much differentiating Samsung, Xiaomi, Lenovo in the mid to lower end of the market with plenty of devices out there that look the same (same screen size, same resolution, even designs are largely similar) and operate the same Android version. While the high end Note series does not have a direct competitor in terms of capability within the android domain it aint something that will make samsung regain its share. With hardware what they could do they have done, OEM"s have gone to HD, 1080HD and even 2K..Cameras have gone to 4K..Where else will they go? Simply put a mid to low level Samsung device does not have the look, feel or performance that is vastly superior to the competition in the same price range. Because of that Samsung will likely have to reduce its margins on those devices as other OEM's flood that market with products with varying appeal (a strategy successfully used by Samsung in the past). At the other end of the market, Samsung has to worry about a resurgent HTC that is back making money, and Lenovo that would no doubt look at the upper segment of the market through Motorola. Last year Samsung warned that the main profit focus would be in tablets, and here i feel they still have an edge within the Android domain. They must however constantly look to stay ahead, and I am not sure how they will do this with Android, given that the competition pretty much has access to the same SOC and the same software at around the same time. The wearables thing isn't working that well for them either and it doesn't look likely that huge volumes and profits from wearables will compensate for the smartphone margins. Samsung will still remain a very very strong player in the mobile world, but seems that the very things that made it such a strong competitor (dozens of products, flooding the market with model after model, adopting Android etc) is also the likely root cause of its lowered marketshare and profits.

I've actually got an LG panel in my rMBP. Looks pretty damn good too.

Or it's because this is an Apple forum, of course articles are going to tie back to Apple in some way. If you have a problem with articles referencing Apple then this website isn't a good place for you to come.

Listen, I realize it's an Apple forum. I also realize they are going to back Apple. But there is no correlation.

"Ebola crisis in Western Africa While Apple sells 15 million iPhones" is also a true statement. Being that there is no evidence of correlation, why even make that a headline?

You can't bend it by keeping in your pocket and squat to tie your laces...
That's just fud spreaded by haters from YouTube, some of that bribed by competitors....

Such bends have been reported right here on MacRumors. One guy bent his 6+ when he stepped up into his truck with the phone in his front pocket.

Speck, Spigen, Otterbox, just to name a few, all have rigid cases with shock absorption.

Rigid enough to keep a 6+ from bending? They weren't designed for that purpose so I wouldn't count on them to do it.

I'll be treating my 6+ like a delicate teacup, and yes, I'm putting it in a good case. It's a stupid chassis design but that dead gorgeous display sucked me right in.

I thnk I could keep my 6 (in its case) in my pocket and sit on it and it would be ok if I were stupid enough to do it but anyone that is dumb enough to put a 6+ in their pocket with a case on it and sit down, has really really big pockets and deserves what they get!:)

----------

I can't believe people are still talking about bends.

these people have not held the iPhone 6 or 6 plus evidently...
Being that thin is a good thing if you ask me.
thinking that you can put something that thin and long in your pocket and sit down is absolute stupidity in my opinion.

Actually, not sure how much money Android makes. And it is not the OEMs making the money.

http://www.digitaltrends.com/mobile/google-earns-four-times-more-from-ios-than-android/

It allegedly makes four times as much from iOS than Android. Add the loss from most of the OEMs and its loss from Motorola, and I am not sure it as an ecosystem makes money and it clearly has a lower ROI than iOS so it is not a good example of this model working.

Still quoting a wrong article from years ago?

So they say.

...snip
It appears you have no experience with this type of case. The case would crack first. It's hard plastic very light and little bulk. Before this "bendgate" issue even stated I ordered this until I can find one I want. The one I have is from Spigen and clear.

I have no fear of bends in or out of the case. I only use cases so I can resell latter.
