Yet Apple gets laughed at for continuing their design. Oh dear. You must be a Samsung owner

Technically, yeah, but it's a Galaxy Nexus. Also, I don't make fun of Apple for having the same shape of phone. It's a good shape. The thing I make fun of is when people act like every phone Apple makes is "the most innovative thing ever".

For a so-called flagship phone the Galaxy S5 is just astonishingly bland and cheap looking.

Well at least it actually has some worthwhile features and isn't 3 years behind the rest of the mobile industry like another flagship phone I know.

Swing and a miss.

HTC and Sony should take the advantage after this big samsung fail and try to get as many people as they can get.

Another great post from PhoneRumors. I guess they've gotta keep posting SOMETHING while Apple fails to innovate with their Macs.

What do you call the Mac Pro? I think the problem at this point is that the Personal Computer has hit a plateau.... portable devices; like mobile phones and tablets ARE the "computers" now... the desktop and laptop market have been relegated to the status of an advanced home CD player in the late 90's/Early 2000s.

IE; It's nice and fancy to have one... but there's not much in terms of advancement.

Ahh, that's too bad. Even though I don't plan getting the S5 I'm sure I'll end up with a Note 4 eventually. I guess technology for fingerprint sensors on any phone just isn't there yet.

Except iPhone you mean? The sensor on the 5S works great.

That watch is awful.

Did they actually bother testing it... watch faces shouldn't be perpendicular to the arm, are you suppose to twist your head around to see it

I think your going off the original point here.

Samsung have sold 200 million Galaxy S devices. Someone said thats not really an achievement as Apple have sold 400 million iPhones.

If Samsung was the only Android phone available, then they would have a figure either the same of greater then that of Apple, however they have to compete against other Android handsets.

I dont know why your making it that confusing!

Your reasoning is flawed.

Your assuming that people who didn't want to PAY for the latest SG phone and opted out for the freeby android phone would have paid if all that was available for android was the SG models.

which would be which phone? Not sure if you realised but Sammy only just did finger print which Apple did a long while ago. Can't be an iPhone you're talking about. 64bit vs 32bit, I don't really need to go on.

I feel the same way about this phone release as I did when the 5s was released. No biggie. The upgrades are weak at best.

PS. To those of you that say samsung is copying the iphone fingerprint scanner, there were phones before the iphone to do that, one of which was the moto atrix.

Yes, but as soon as Apple does something, everybody else follows, and usually Apple does a better job.

I wasn't aware that 6 months was a long while ago. The 64 bit is too advanced for the current hardware at the moment.

Wow. People derided Apple when they put a fingerprint scanner in the iPhone 5s, yet this is the best that the competition can come up with?

Apple nailed the fingerprint scanner on the 5s.

Samsung failed with the fingerprint scanner on the S5.

I think using the space differently is all I could see that would be useful at this point. I have only curiosity for a device like the S-Pen and little to no desire for multiple window multitasking on my phone (even at 5.5").

I'm hoping for something I haven't thought of. But even so - if it's the same layout across the board, I'll be fine with it. I like iOS and Apple too much. Since I haven't yet thought of what I'd want, I can't be disappointed.

the s pen is great with all the features and if the s5 had it id be more inclined to buy it (but will prob move on from Samsung this s5 was a let down) but the multi windows is a gimmick on a phone this size might be good for a tablet tho

Why? Do you know something everyone else doesn't? Have you played with it personally? Even though I have no plans to get a S5 I'd still be curious how accurate the fp sensor is.

The S5's fingerprint sensor is getting incredibly tepid reviews whereas Touch ID got quite warm reception (plus in my experience it's quite fantastic).

Not that I've used the S5's sensor (of course not), but it seems like a grade-A Samsung "feature" (ergo gimmick) that makes the experience far more complicated than it needs to be.

I feel that Samsung do the following timetable these days:

  • Watch rumors coming from Apple - Develop & Release a wide range of these hoping they will get a hit
  • Watch apple come out with latest tech
  • Copy that tech - Fingerprint sensor, gold?

Yes, because Samsung copied apple waterproof phone……..

this is the uglyest thing ive ever seen.

and the watch? is this a joke? turn your head around to read the display?

I wouldn't say it failed, it works. Might work differently than the 5s, but it works. We are tech people. We happen to like Apple for our computers or phones, but why do we have to deride anything thats not Apple, even when the bring out some nice tech. The Gear Fit is also a nice bit of kit.
